Chapter 56 - Fast team battle

----Leo----

I put on my armour, making sure everything was in order. Every contestant got a message to form a team of at most three people.

I had messaged Thea and Kirby and they had accepted the invitation.

It would be interesting how that group of six from the prelimanaries would divide themselves. I think they called themselves the Palladins at the time.

We arrived at the arena, only to be stopped by Strongarm.

"Dearest D-ranks, for you, we have a treat, you guys will start off the tournament, after there is only one group of you left, that group will have to fight split up and fight against the lowest ranked members of the C-rank heroes, if you can beat them then that means you take their place, of course, some of you have higher ranked heroes in your groups, so those won't benefit from that reward, that's why we added another reward for the winning team.

The winning team can get a chance to explore the basement of Olympus, for people who don't know, the basement is a veritable treasure trove, you can find the weirdest things in their or something that can propel you forward.

Now, another thing that should be noted is that students will also be fighting for the top spot, if they can get it, they won't have to fight against the C-rank heroes, they also won't get access to the basement, that will be reserved for the highest rank team, instead, they will be able to ask a God-ranked hero for something, this is one thing each.

Now, that's out of order so we will begin calling your name when it's your time to fight."

He left the room, calling the first team with him. This time, it would be one fight at a time, allowing people to enjoy the carnage that ensued.

All of the fights were uneventfull, the battles were short. When we were called, Kirby got up and confidently walked to the teleport pad. We followed.

"Kirby, I didn't think you'd be so confident, me likey." Thea said with a smirk.

"I'm not, I'm just putting on a brave front, I don't like this tournament."

I laughed. "No worries, I'm pretty sure we're going to win."

I myself was also putting on a front, not letting them notice that I was extremely distracted.

Entering the arena the crowd was cheering. The team we were up against entered a little later. They were definetely students, their uniforms gave that away, but they seemed to be as powerfull as some demi-god heroes.

'NOW, LADIEEEEES AAAAAAND GENTLEMEN, THE STUDENT TEAM YOU WERE WAITING FOR, ALL CHILDREN OF A-RANKED HEROES, ALL OF THEM ARE POWERFULL!'

The anouncer was extremely loud but nobody seemed to mind.

'ON THE OTHER HAND, WE HAVE A TEAM THAT HAS THE ALMIGHTY TEA, A DEMIGOD-RANKED HEROINE AND TWO ROOKIES WHO WERE ABLE TO STAND AGAINST A GOD-RANKED THREAT, LET US SEE WHO WILL WIN."

The students smirked at us, I smirked back. Gotta admit thos, their teamspirit seems to be pretty great.

The bell rung and all hell broke loose. The central student turned into a Chinese-Dragon, immediately creating a storm. The second one turned into water and was swept away by the storm, using it to make himself move faster.

The third turned into a being made entirely of winds. He sped up the winds the dragon boy had conjured making it go even faster.

"Thea, hit it with your lightning!"

She did, the water boy fell to the ground and turned solid, forcing the wind boy and the dragon boy to stop lest they hurt him.

We immediately spring into action, Kirby knocking out the dragon while I held a knife to the throat of the wind boy.

"I surrender!" he yelled, throwing up his hands.

The crowd was proably dissapointed but that didn't matter, we weren't here to please them.

Both groups walked to the teleport pad, I was carrying the dragon boy while Kirby was carrying water boy. Both were extremely far from waking up.

The wind boy was okay, looking at me with a bit of fear.

"You know kid, I'll give you guys some advice, you immedetialy went for an extremely strong attack without even knowing what we could do. Gather more information first, also, when something fails, don't immediately drop your guard, you should always pay attention during a fight."

The boy nodded, admitting to himself that I was right, even if I was lower in rank than his parents.

We parted ways after being teleported out, we wished the kids the best of luck next time. Our first battle was over, yay.
