After all the legal procedures I got access to my money and everything that had been bought with it.
I explored the mansion and stopped when I stepped into one chamber. "Seriously Steve, blow-up dolls? Come on man. You were rich, you could have gone to prostitutes if you wanted to get off."
Ok I know that's not any better but the room was filled with them. I called a cleanup crew because I'm not touching any of them. Who knows what they were used for.
After that, I went into the garage and was happy to see that Steve had bought some good cars and a motorcycle.
I took the motorcycle and drove to the nearest government center. Applying for a superhero license was nearly the same as applying for a new ID.
You just go to your nearest government center, wait for 2 hours before you can talk to a clerk and then have something that should take 5 minutes take an hour.
After applying you will get a date, time and place for your tests. If you complete these tests you get your license.
So after that whole debacle I had to wait another week. Maura came by which surprised me. She had a CSI with her called Amada who took some tests.
It was just to see if I had awakened any powers after bonding with the artifact and low and behold, I could summon wings and had some other power that no-one (except me) knows what it does.
I talked a bit with Maura and for some reason she gave me her number and asked me if I wanted to go out for coffee sometime.
So the day before getting the test I went out and got some coffee.
--------------------------
"So, why did you want to speak to me." Leo asked. At first I thought he was just trying to make me admit I felt something for him but then I noticed that he was really oblivious.
"I'm a woman, you're a man. We're having a coffee. What do you think this is?" Finally he realised what was happening here.
"Oh, sorry." Oh no he's gonna say that he isn't interested. This'll be embarrassing. I braced myself for it.
"I didn't think about it that way since you are a cop but I guess I should've realized cops don't just give there numbers to witnesses. Well then, tell me a bit about yourself."
Yay, I didn't have to be embarrassed. After that we had a pleasant date and he even said he would like to do this again.
--------------------------
It was the day of the tests. I had just finished the physical check-ups. These were necessary because you can't just go out beating up criminals if you're too weak to even land a decent punch.
Though there are abilities and special fighting techniques that get stronger when your body is weaker so you can still get a license when you show that you're capable enough.
"Hello future heroes. The next test will just be a way to determine if you are of the right mind to become a hero." a voice said over the intercom.
Names were called, people were dismissed, others accepted until my name was called.
They forced me to drink something weird and then I had to fill in a ... poll. I don't know why, but I did it and I was accepted although I have a feeling it was with a slight reluctance.
The amount before the poll had been around 200 people. Now there were 17. I wasn't the last so in the end there were exactly 20 people.
Suddenly a man stepped into the room. This was the strongest male hero in the world (I say male because the strongest hero in the world is a woman).
This man was known as Strong-arm. He wore a Bright yellow tux, a green shirt and a black tie. His face was covered with a yellow cowl with some kind of sunglasses in front of his eyes.
"So, this is the new batch. Well, it could've been worse. You've done it, your licenses are being made as we speak and you'll be sent them by mail. You have access to the teleporter to the main facility and to the first five levels of said facility." he said. Then he turned around and left.
"Wow, what an ass." a girl said. "Who wants to go with me and explore 'the main facility."
She was hot so most of the guys went with her for that reason, I went with because I had nothing else to do and the 12 other girls seemed to know her so they immediately agreed.
"If I may ask though, who are you?" I asked. Everybody looked at me like I was an idiot. "Where have you been for the past five months?" nearly everybody asked in unison.
Being the blunt guy I am I was honest. "I've been in a coma, I woke up last week." Everybody no longer looked at me like I was an idiot so yay. Then she introduced herself.
