Mia's POV
"You're late for school," I heard my mom scream.
"Okay, mom calm down, I'm up," I said as I frantically scrambled to the bathroom.
I don't like loud noises, it gives me the shivers and I hate going to school.
After brushing my teeth I stared at my reflection on the mirror. Deep sparkling brown eyes, untamed brown locks of wavy hair reaching just below my shoulders, accentuated nose, and pink tinted lips that match my chin and sharp jawline.
Just like my dad I thought. Then came all the bad memories. I pushed them into the back of my mind and put on a white Zara hoodie on top of my large pink vintage T-shirt, girlfriend jeans with rips on one of the knees and thigh, and put on my Jordans.
I grabbed my backpack, put my phone in my pocket, and scurried down the stairs.
"Bye mom! And by the way I have track today so don't expect me to come home early," I said opening the front door and slamming it shut before I can hear her response. I thought of saying 'I love you' but the though flew out of my mind as soon as a neon green sports car stopped by my house.
Inside of it came out a blond haired guy dressed in a black-n-white checkered hoodie with vans who I know to be my best friend.
Kyle and I've been friends for the past 4 years. So since I moved here in 7th grade, he was the first person to talk to me.Â
Kyle is very rich since he's the next heir of some business, and everybody want to get close to him but no one manages to. Of course because of that he is my ONLY friend and I'm very thankful for that because he's been with me through all the tough times.
"Sleepy head I've been waiting for the past 8 minutes and 57 seconds," He grinned.
"Sorry, but it was a tough day," he nodded in understanding.
My dog died a week ago. He was a 12 year old doberman by the name Asher. People think it's weird that I used to own a doberman, but I don't think so. Dobermans are very cute and they understand your feelings.
"Soooo, are you ready for the test?" Kyle asked as he drove us to school.
"Wait, what test?" I asked confused.
"Dummy didn't you get the announcement? It said that the test which is supposed to be next month is going to be today because something's going to happen next month. I asked them what it was but they said it was a secret."
I frowned. They shouldn't be keeping secrets from us.
As we parked near the school, I got out of the car and nearly tripped but Kyle caught me.
"Careful," he said.
I thanked him and we both walked towards the school. We were both in our last years of highschool. Somehow something was different today. Like the air smelled weird and the sun wasn't up instead it was wierdly empty, the sky I mean. I shrugged it off since it's never sunny here in Atlanta, Georgia.
As we walked down the halls I felt many gazes on me and Kyle. Especially me. I could feel the jealousy and anger burning in the air as we passed by a group of girls.
Entering the homeroom class I heard Ms. Wilton the history teacher speak about the test. The 28 year old teacher was very nice but very strict when trouble created.
As she talked about something I was dazing off looking outside the window.
"Ms. Mia Lewis, could you please explain what is written on the board?"
I jolted when I hard my name and stood up from my seat. I looked into the board and saw that there was a projector projecting something. I heard Kyle snicker and girls from the front gossiping.
"The board shows tha-
As soon as I was talking the projector started projecting a screen from the universe. The screen was showing Earth and a more giant black planet or that's what I thought moving towards earth in a rather fats speed. Students in the class started panicking as they saw the black round thing millions of sizes bigger than earth and he sun moving father and faster.
Ms. Wilton started panicking and the whole class was talking. Usually she never panics. Suddenly the screen showed the giant black thing overtaking the sun. Suddenly the sky was deep red in color. As the planet neared I called for Kyle. The whole class was panicking.
Students started screaming and people started running from classroom and looking out of the windows. But then they stopped and so did I. Outside the school window was seen a giant red thing which looked back through the projector was actually blood red.
As soon as earth was not seen anymore, screams were heard everywhere.
