Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - Two hundred years

Two hundred years have passed.

After a disastrous and unwanted experiment that resulted in the release of a mystical energy that had been caged in the core of our planet since the beginning of the creation of the universe, humanity underwent permanent and irrevocable changes. And not only them, but all living beings.

Since this mystical energy that would later be known as Manna was released, the main elements were born in the world; Fire, water, air and earth. The born elements wandered all over our planet to later establish their own dominions in different parts of the world creating their own magical territories.

These territories of the planet had their own peculiarities. Certain areas were hot enough to burn an ordinary person to ashes and melt super tough minerals in seconds. Others had storms everywhere and devastating winds that blew everything in their path regardless of size or weight. While parts of the ocean contained enormous pressure capable of reducing a building to the size of a small stone.

With not being enough of these disconcerting environmental changes on the planet, due to the Manna that surprised the entire world, the animals evolved at an impressive speed, mutating in the process of this and gaining a greater intelligence and a more capable force than they already have. The evolution that is known to unfold over millions of years had been reduced to a few months. It was unheard of.

Nature was not the exception to this either. Since, being also influenced by Manna, they mutated into new variants, gaining awareness and will that challenged the animals of the past. Meanwhile, humans were not far behind. They awakened abilities to use Manna and control the main elements. With powerful strength in their hands and intelligence that helped them position themselves at the top of the food chain for millions of years, humanity progressed in a few months what was supposed to take tens of years.

It was a new chapter in the human history book and in the world. A chapter that would never be forgotten no matter what it was made. Unfortunately, like any good story, there will always be trouble around the corner.

A year after the unleashing of Manna, humans were slowly beginning to develop their bestowed abilities. They were like little babies who had just started crawling and stumbled from time to time but always got up to try one more time. Although their progress could be considered slow, they gave positive results from time to time. They were in no rush.

They only focused on developing their knowledge of Manna, investigating evolved plants and animals, and exploring the new elemental areas of the planet. It was not a lie to say that every scientist in the world was fascinated with these new topics for his research. Unfortunately, after a few months of that first year, an unprecedented catastrophe soon struck the planet.

The portals.

The portals arose without warning in different parts of the world and in great numbers. From these portals emerged powerful beasts that brought all kinds of destruction in their wake. The attacks these beasts carried out were infused with a deep and inexplicable hatred towards our world.

Millions of lives were lost in the blink of an eye.

Countries with hundreds of years of human history behind them were eradicated to their roots at the hands of these beasts. The nuclear bombs that were considered the most powerful that humanity had at that time were not capable of damaging these enemies, a strange layer protected them from any of these attacks.

Furthermore, every time nuclear bombs were used, more human lives were lost than at the hands of beasts. It was not necessary to speak of weapons that did not have the ability to rip the skin of these beasts an inch. The enormous confidence that humanity had in its military power was completely destroyed.

With no other options and with the idea in mind that these strange portals were related in one way or another to the mystical energy known as Manna that had helped them to progress a lot, humanity decided to put all their hopes in this and investigate them much more.

Miraculously, after countless failures and mistakes on the part of scientists, humans hit a breakthrough. They managed to control Manna as a form of attack or defense.

The first experiment of this breakthrough, it was used on a beast that was considerably weaker than others of its own kind. The discovery was that if a person had enough control over Manna, he could use it on his own body, granting himself better physical abilities.

From this first discovery, it was later learned that the main key to eliminating these beasts was Mana. With the use of Manna, humans gained a strange force that allowed us to penetrate that layer of beasts that protected them from nuclear weapons.

With the Manna in our bodies that allowed us to challenge the beasts with enormous forces, the humans achieved their first victory, to which many more were added.

Without being enough of good news, it was discovered that within each beast there were magic stones that had energy capable of replenishing resources on the planet; oil, electricity, etc. But in some particular beasts, there were magic crystals with an incredible amount of mana concentrated within them. With these magic crystals that only existed in a few beasts, humans created weapons that aided in their fight.

As time and years passed, the humans regained their previously lost lands and forced the beasts to return from where they came through the portals. Although humanity was still not strong enough to kill all the beasts, as some were beyond their capabilities, they were at least able to bring a new peace to their fight-free lives.

The humans reverted to their previous state and continued to develop while guarding the portals from which the beasts emerged. Evidently, although they achieved victory in this war, their new strength did not go to his head to venture into the worlds behind these portals.
