Chapter 27 - The power of Sharingan

Dix looked around to see... everything. It was a glorious new feeling, like when someone gets an upgrade for their PC and try it for the first time. It ran like wonder. Dix marveled at how detailed everything is, as now he was able to see it all. After a few minutes of jaw-dropped glaring one of the clones stepped closer to ask if everything is alright. They had to verbally communicate, as the link was broken between them without any way to reestablish it. Dix just nodded and focused back on the current task at hand. He had to test every function he set up.

First was the main turn off/on function. Dix manually manipulated the seal directly connected to the eye to limit its chakra input. His eye hurt a bit, but soon that subsided and the sharingan 'turned off'. It felt like he took off some extremely high quality glasses. The scene he could see turned back to what he always sees. The details vanished, his vision felt tunnel-ish and everything got a bit darker.

Dix tried turning the sharingan on, and it worked like a charm. He really liked the feeling it brought with itself. Its like his eyes encompass everything, and nothing could escape it. After another few minutes of awestruck looking around Dix was disturbed once again by a clone, and proceeded with the tests.

Now it was time for the chakra neutralizing mechanism to work. Dix opened the chakra floodgate towards the mechanism, which started sucking in his chakra fast, then popped out zero chakra on the inside. The mechanism itself was built in a circular manner, where every in-gate would face outside, and every out-gate would face inside, where the extract of Uchiha intent was stored. Everything went great until the zero chakra met with the Uchiha chakra.

It worked as expected, the conversion happened and a huge amount of Uchiha chakra was being produced. But it was really hard to control it, so Dix had to make a few modifications. There was already a pathway carved for this chakra to get to the eyes fast. but he had to secure that even more, while making another tiny seal in the chamber of the converter that forced all the present chakra into the pathway. The sample intent was locked in place, so except that, everything moved without input from Dix's part into his eyes.

This would nurture the eyes and probably make it evolve over time the same way the Uchihas do it. Usually for a sharingan to evolve the user had to experience extreme emotions, such as the death of loved ones. Dix was pretty sure, that this is simply bullshit. He understood the concept that when someone feels extreme emotions their chakra production jumps a bit, but in reality what happens is that the first of the Eight Gates is unconsciously slightly opened, as it is located in the brain's left hemisphere, at the same place that also houses one's emotions. When the distress is over the gate naturally returns to its original position. This is why people, on the verge of death or in great turmoil are able to call upon unknown reserves in their bodies they never knew were present. Probably this phenomenon's observation was what lead to the discovery of the Eight Gates and their usage.

Simply having a lot of chakra won't be enough though. What Dix needed to do was to continue filling up the eye with the Uchiha's energy and then open the floods to go over the limits when its completely full. This eye was a bottomless void for energy though. Dix felt like it would take quite a while to upgrade it. He also had to use it a lot. That would certainly help. Not like he had anything else in mind.

He almost forgot one last thing. He modified the zero chakra producing mechanism to leave certain key intents in the chakra. This was the way Dix wanted to control the eyes for real. If he were to close the direct chakra stream to the eyes it would be like pulling the plug, which is problematic to say the least. This other way is a lot more safe and easier to handle. He had to try a few times to get it right, but at the last one he managed to do it. When he injected the special intent into the mechanism, it let it pass trough, and while imbued with the Uchiha chakra, the intent was still able to persist, unlike in his earlier tries. Soon it arrived into the eye, and that understood the order, thus it turned off.

This happened in less then a second, even though there was a complicated system behind it. Dix was extremely happy, and seeing that everything he envisioned worked properly, he couldn't help but think what else he will be able to do in the future.

The Flying Thunder God Technique, Senjutsu, Kurama mode, Six Paths Sage mode. He had many great jutsus coming his way and he couldn't wait to try and combine all of them to become the strongest. He just simply couldn't wait. He already started planning how he will acquire the FTGT.

He just kept thinking, as he wasn't able to train with the sharingans yet, because he had to recover from the surgery and the heavy chakra losses first. He also used the second of the Eight Gate, which was the gate of healing. If he had the body seal engaged and didn't move at all, the gate of healing, while giving power, it also boosted his regeneration to an unprecedented level. This also affected the sharingan through the main connection, so he just sit there for a while to recuperate.

It actually took a long time, so instead of training, he took that day off and played with Yami to rest a bit. Even though he had a lot of experience of being with her, he actually never was the one to be there. It was always a clone that took care and taught her. So now he wanted to be with her in earnest. After a good lunch and happily resting under a tree, Dix had to see that most of the day had already flew away. By then he was in a pretty good shape, so he had to do one last thing before reentering the village.

Before his eyes were ocean-blue, which he got from his father, Minato, but now, as the Uchiha's eye took the original's place, the usual blue eyes turned into plain black. Dix was pretty sure many people would notice this, so he had to use a few techniques to place a permanent transformation jutsu on his eyes. He used a seal once again, that was able to project that jutsu as long as it was connected to the chakra network, which Dix quickly handled.

With that done he looked the same as before, but now he had another trump cards he could use.

He summoned a clone to keep Yami company, then went back to the village. He nodded to every one of the guards, as all of them knew him by then. Some even greeted him verbally, which he politely reciprocated. Some didn't even want to look at him though. That was something that haven't changed and will still take a long time to change.

As he was making his way towards the orphanage he had seen some kids running around happily on the streets. This somehow made him remember that he had around half a year before he has to enroll into the Ninja Academy. Not like that will change anything, he already knew more then a jonin usually does, and is closing in strength to the Third. With the sharingan in his possession, he was already a force to be reckoned with, and a hidden trump card of the village, that nobody knew of.

Also, that was the moment he decided to move out of the orphanage and find himself his own place to live. The next time he sees the Third he would tell him that. He entered the facility, then his room and he sat down on his bed. It was still early, the sun was still above the horizon, so he started meditating with the new sharingan in his thoughts. With his inner vision and chakra control he kept working on the glaring differences that are present between his body and the new eye. He wanted to help the integration of the new body part to go as smoothly as possible. This required a lot of energy and effort, but with every passing hour the problems were getting smaller and smaller.

After who know how much time Dix was disturbed by the sound of someone knocking on his door. He was quite annoyed he had to stop his meditation, but he still shouted out with a normal sounding 'Open'. Elma came in the door.

"Hey there Naruto, I hope you had a great day. " she said with a smile on her face. "I'm just here to tell you the Third came to visit you. He is waiting for you in my office, as usual."

With that she turned around, left and closed the door behind her.

Dix had a dumb look on his face, that soon turned into a somewhat funny grin.

*Just had to ask for it, huh? Love how 'fate' works* he thought as he looked up, with a now annoyed face. He changed his clothes and made his way towards where the Hokage was waiting.
