Chereads / A Wizard's Romance / Chapter 2 - Dreams

Chapter 2 - Dreams

Arthur closed his eyes and tried to see his destiny but all he could foresee was blue roses and the sweet laughter of a girl. He tried to focus on her but to his dismay he could not foresee anything else aside from blue roses and a night scene. He frowned and tried to concentrate on it but he was just not able to see her face. Finally, he opened his eyes.

While the lord was busy concentrating and frowning, everyone who stood there became pale because they had never seen the great wizard, the lord of spells frowning.

Forget about frowning, they have never seen any emotions on his detached face. He was either always quiet and emotionless or had a faint smile which was a death penalty for his enemies. They never imagined that one day their lord would frown.

Chesire finally exploded and grumbled when he saw his master opening his eyes. He was deeply concerned for his master and thus enquired about this mystery.

Everyone was curious and was itching to know the reason behind their lord's expression but to their dismay, he only spoke one word "interesting".

Everyone there became horrified by this one word spoken out by him, but the lord chuckled and turned around walking toward his castle leaving everyone clueless.

Chesire was dumbstruck for a moment and then followed behind his master with Morsee on cue.

Rosy chuckled and picked up a blue rose from the garden and whispered to herself, "May the lord enjoy his blessings.

A Wizard's love and its destiny never intersect with each other, either you choose your beloved or you choose wizardry.

"Let's see what you will choose, The Great Wizard Arthur?", with that she faded in the dark sky.

Faraway Land

Giggles....

"OH, Camilla I am hungry let's go and eat something"

"I am tired", Cecilia groaned.

"Oh, really sissy. You were lying beside the river all the time while I was practicing and you have the cheek to tell me that you are tired," Camilla asked.

"Camy, my dear Camy. Come on, you know that I really don't like these sword practices. Let's go to the food streets and have some tasty food."

"You know Ceci it is very important. What if one-day the enemy attacks you? what you will do then? How will you save yourself then?"

"Since when do I need to fear from anyone? Moreover, you know I have mastered the spells so no need to worry. Besides I always have your back to lean on so what is there to fear?"

"What if one day I am not there Ciel? what will you do then?"

"Camilla Taylor. Are you done? If not then you can continue spouting nonsense but remember that whosoever will mess with my Camy, I will fight with my every tooth and nail with them and will not hesitate to send them to Satan. You better engrave this in your mind." Ciel spoke without hesitation.

Determination shined in her eyes.

"I am sorry Ciel" Camy apologized.

Nothing changed. Be it in childhood or now or now when we are adults. Cecilia has always been sweet to me but whenever it is about my safety she becomes as protective as a mother hen.

Camy giggled.

"It's okay. Let us go to a food street," Ciel spoke with a goofy smile. Camy excitedly hugged Ciel as both of them started walking while giggling and gossiping.

[Camy, I will eat macarons.....…. {voices started fading}]

Reinstle empire.

Chamber.

Morning

Knock, knock

A knock resounded on the door because of the sound the wizard yawned and propped himself on his large bed with his kitty laying on it.

"Enter Vladis. You better have a good reason for breaking my dream otherwise I am going to whip you myself."

"I am sorry for the inconvenience lord but we have to make an urgent trip to the dungeon. Something strange is going on there and we better take care of it as soon as possible. If not, I am afraid something big will happen. Something strange is always happening to us nowadays. Recently we have encountered a lot of bad Omens"

The lord's expression did not change a bit but the air around the room instantly became cold. The Chesire started ruffling himself on the blanket for seeking warmth. Seeing Chesire snuggling on his bed the lord kicked the kitty and glared at him but as usual, he ignored his master and taunted him.

"If your dream is interrupted it doesn't mean you can interrupt others. Grow up master." The cat sulked.

" Whatever…."

The lord hissed. He was frustrated not because of the ongoing problems but because it has been more than three months and still he was not able to see the face of that girl.

Every time he dreams he can only see hazy surroundings filled with mist and clouds. It is like a fairyland. He cannot touch anything nor can he see anything particularly but can only see blurry images of a woman and her sweet nothings. He assumed it to be the blue moon's blessings but now it was becoming frustrating.

Vladis jaws dropped. His expression was beyond shocked. As he was listening to his master, he blurted out "What? You Dreamed? What did you dream? Maybe I am dreaming? What a ridiculous dream I am seeing! Get up Vladis. Get up you have a lot of work to report to the lord."

He lightly slapped himself for making sure he is not dreaming.

Seeing all these happenings in front of him the lord's expression became black. He became furious and roared at Vladis.

"GET OUT"

Vladis became terrified and scooted himself out of the lord's room as fast as he could. Exactly after one hour, the savage and lazy lord came out of his room. His face was as cold as ice and it appeared as if the morning incident did not occur.

"Let's leave", he ordered.

Vladis was behind Arthur guarding him as usual.

How many years had it been since he started guarding his lord? How many times had he protected his lord from life-threatening attacks? He could not even count them.

He and his lords were best friends since childhood. Numerous times they both have shielded each other in battles and have taken attacks for each other. He always wondered why the lord keeps him so close despite him being a councilman's son which was nothing great in the first place.

The council was a pathetic place where diplomatic, showoff, and crafty people worked. They all reeked of politics and hypocrisy.

The position he had was always a blind spot for Arthur and he can easily kill him if he wants.

No spell, no wand, no sword was needed if he wanted to attack Arthur.

A small dagger could easily pierce his heart and knock him out. However, Vladis was self-aware. He would never even dare to think about killing Arthur and if anyone tries to harm Arthur, he will make sure that they experience hell.
