Chapter 19 - Exit strategy. Four years later.

The were only two ways for a monster to leave the dungeon. The first was through a beast wave.

The dungeon was separated into 100 floors. A beast wave can only be instituted when a monster on the 90th floor and above agitates the lower level monsters and leads them out of the dungeon. Monsters on that level were at least at the A rank , and so they could resist the restrictions that bound the monsters to the dungeon.

However , Salazar wasn't on that level and it would take too long and too much effort to try to reach that stage.

Moreover , it was impossible for someone like him to convince one of the higher level monsters to lead a beast wave. It would be far easier to use the second way- clearing the dungeon.

Both methods were very dangerous and , on his own , he would've required a decade at the very least in order to escape this place. Luckily , he'd been given a helping hand.

Foaly was part of a bandit group that had stumbled upon the valley as it was being mined. Being consumed by greed , their leader had ordered the attack that led to their eventual death. From the fight that he witnessed in the dead bandits memories , it seemed that the group they were attacking was really strong.

And really arrogant.

Now , from what he could gather , both by making educated guesses from Foaly's memories and the monsters he'd sent to tail the group , they intended to climb the dungeon all the way to the top.

If he could discreetly follow them , that group might be his way outta here. He could even eat the monsters that they killed as they paved the way for his escape. That way , he could continue to get stronger. It was a win-win situation.

The trick here being that he would be able to tail them. He was now the strongest monster on the floor and so it would be an easy matter for him to move up to the second level. However he was unaware of the dangers that existed there and how much stronger than him the monsters on that level were.

Oh well. It was a pain in the ass but if that was the only way he as gonna get out of this bind , then he needed to move as fast as possible.

His scouts told him that the group were heading towards the gateway to the second floor. That means , they were still here. Good for him. And now , it was time to truly begin his journey in this fantasy world.

He wondered what type of world he'd encounter ounce he escaped the dungeon ( and what type of girls too. )

.....

Just like that , four years passed by in a flash. These few years were like a dream to Salazar.

He spent about 40% of his time tailing the adventurer group , whose name he'd learnt was Epsilon ( thank you Universal translator ) as a red eyed rabbit , the most inconspicuous form he had right now. 20% of the remaining time was used to explore the different floors , while the group hunted high level monsters and the remaining time was used to eat.

Thanks to Epsilon, he'd eaten a wide variety of monsters. Creatures he'd didn't even know existed like sonic bats , steel backed rhinos , fire-lightning hawks , savage spiders and so on.

Each floor of the dungeon was a vaster world than the one before , and with each floor , he got to experience a whole new aspect of this new magical world.

Hmmm. If he wrote a book about his experiences here , would he win a Pulitzer Prize.

Didn't matter. Although he'd eaten a great number of monsters , more than 40% of them were creatures that were way stronger than him , and so their essence had been stored in his food chamber to be slowly processed and absorbed.

He had thousands of essences within his body right now , and so he grew stronger everyday , even without having to eat. Unfortunately, although he'd managed to gain new transformations, his level and stats hadn't gone up quite as much as he'd wanted and expected. Even the amount of evolution points he amassed was tiny compared to the total amount required to evolve again.

That confirmed his doubts, that with every evolution, he needed higher quality monsters to level up.

His stats was now like this.

He was satisfied with his growth. After all , it hadn't been long since he came to this world. Imagine a four year old being, being strong enough to challenge the strongest beings in this world. It just didn't work like that.

Although he was satisfied with his rate of growth , he amount of evolution points he'd managed to accrue still disappointed him. It would aren't shy although the monsters in the dungeon were strong , their bloodlines were quite pathetic.

Oh well. When he left this place, he would focus more on evolving. As of now..... he was on the last floor of the dungeon.

After four years of hard work, and pushing themselves to their limits,Epsilon had finally made it to the final floor. Floor 100 Some of heir members had even grown stronger during their journey and their growth motivated him.

It was almost time for him to leave.

Come on guys. You've made It this far. Finish hard and let's leave this place safely. Let's go.
