"Yes, we have 1 forge master he has already taken 2 students. their are also many forge-apprentice, but I don't recommend that you learn under him. physical strengths is good, but only for those under the rank of mage. Even a crystal stage acolyte cannot be dealt with physical prowess, I won't go into many details you will learn in time. Now are you certain that, you want to learn under our forge master"
Even after hearing the principal, Velex didn't waver on his choice he knew that he was more beast then human. As his power increase and his body aged he would become stronger then any regular acolyte at his level. Yet he didn't just want his magic to only be an auxiliary power, but he had no idea about the higher levels of magic. He would focus on what he knew, and would walk the other roads as he learned more.
quickly Velex answer "Yes, principal I have decided"
Although a bit disappointed Drakar didn't object to his choice.
"Walk your road young man, I hope you have not made the wrong decision." The principal pointed at the door, Like the rest he went out the door to be escorted to his room. What surprised his was that in front of him was a small winged lizard. It was dark red with small spikes running down its back, 2 small wings held in the air. It had human like spiked legs, its dark eyes looked at him and the creature let out a small screech queueing him to follow it.
He didn't stand idle and follow the lizard, he went down a dark corridor only lightly lit by the red glowing walls. After about 15 mins off walking and goin down a few stairs they reached a wide open hall, he could see many different doors on each side. soon the lizard stood in front of one of the doors and lightly tap it with it's claws. The lizard did not wait for the door to open, the stone door began to move to the side like a sliding door the lizard was gone by then. Velex looked with amazement at the stone door that moved by it self, well of course it was magic. He stepped into his new room, it had a very plane basic layout. There was a bed in one corner, a large mat covered most the room to the side he saw what looked like a bathroom. In the middle of the room was a small table with a small book and a few sets of back robes with violet flames on their sleeves.
He went into the room and picked up the book, there was a small slip of paper in the first page with instructions. 'Your first meeting with Forge master Akon will be tomorrow at 8am, professor Kal has been notified of your request he will send you a message when it's time to meet him. You can use this time to read the Academy rule's booklet. All standard necessities have been provided inside your room. The instruction on how to use your magic to open the door and seal is on the back of this note. Once the door is registered to you, it will not open for another'
After reading the note velex was wondering how to tell the time in this windowless cave, yet as he looked around he saw a triangular object near his bed. It had small rods that went around in circles, he could clearly tell by the larger number it was pointing at, that this item was used to tell the time. He didn't bother with anything else as he sat down and read the booklet.
The small booklet first listed the academy's rules, No killing fellow students. No getting caught stealing from other students. and few other basic rules. After that there were a few guidelines mentioning the acolyte trade center , the mission hall, training center, and the teaching hall. There wasn't much else, it seem this was the basic knowledge given to new acolytes. Velex didn't see any use in a Teaching hall as all the teachers were fire mage and you had to pay for these lessons.
He spent the rest of the night practicing, he wanted to start learning as soon as possible. The night went by quickly, he woke up early and changed his robes and prepared his mental state for what was to come. Yet 20 min's before 8am he had realized something crucial, he had no idea were to go. as he panicked he had an idea to ask the other students in the hall, yet as he exit his room the same lizard from last time was waiting for him outside his room. It screech at him, same as before he followed the lizard. He didn't neglect any details of the path, he saw many other students walking through the halls. None of them paid him any attention as they went about their business, which surprised him. It seem his appearance was not strange to them or they simply didn't care, he didn't linger on the thought. They passed many other hallways as he followed the lizard, soon he began to feel the temperature rising as they descended many stairs. Not 15 mins from the time he had left his room, they arrived at a giant stone gate. It was open at the moment, inside he could see a large hall with many workshop like stations around in a circle. Further in their was a small gate that went further in. He followed the lizard inside, he saw many acolytes working with different tools, he could see them beating hot iron like objects as sparks flew some rotated their flames around these objects. Their was one thing that was similar among all these acolytes, they were tall with strong bodies. as he let his eyes wonder they reached the smaller gate. The lizard screeched yet again to wake him up from his stupor, then it tap on the stone door.
As the stone door slid open he could see the inside, there where 3 large work stations 1 bigger then the other 2. Their was a smith like station, yet lava was flowing in front. Their were other tools or objects inside yet he had no idea what they were. In the middle of the hall stood a tall strong middle age man, he had short black hair he wore no robe rather he wore a smith outfit. As soon as Velex entered the room the man looked up at him, Velex could feel danger coming from the burly middle age man. As the man stared at him, he felt threaten and scared. But he didn't panic and stood his ground, the middle age man seemed slightly surprised, but rather then showing anger he lightly chuckled as the threating presences Velex felt disappeared.
Chuckling he spoke to Velex "Well well seems the new whelp that geezer sent me isn't so simple. Tell me young man, your main element is lightning while your fire aptitude is good. Why would someone someone with the tools to be a combat mage, stand before this mere Forge master"
The Forge master stared at Velex curiously waiting for his answer, he didn't make him wait long.
"I don't know anything about a combat mage, I do know my physical strength is my true talent along with my lightning magic. Right now I want to pursue these 2 roads and no others"
"Your physical talent huh, so theirs more to these beast like appearance of yours. yet too me you look small and scrawny, come here and lift this hammer and you can't use magic. show me your not wasting my time like all those so called forge-apprentices" he pointed at the dark metallic hammer in the middle of the room on the largest forge station.
Velex walked forward with no delay, then he grabbed the hammer. It was far heavier then he had thought at first, yet he still lifted it slowly with one hand till it was above his waste. The forge master looked at him very surprised, Velex didn't know anything about the hammer. but this hammer was the tool used by his first disciple a solid stage acolyte that had been training with him for 12 years. It weight was more then 200 pounds, although his disciple used this hammer to forge he would use both arms. Even though this young man struggled to lift the hammer, he had done it with 1 hand no less. But he wasn't even 5ft tall and although he wasn't slim, compared to him or his disciple he was truly 'small'.
suddenly the forge master Akon began to chuckle again as he said "To think such a small body hold such strength, I now realize why you chose this path. very well, I will teach you how to forge. I'm Forge master Akon, from now on you can call me professor Akon. Once you have forged your first item, you can become my 3rd disciple if your willing of course"
"Velex greets professor Akon" Velex said with a small bow as greeting
"my 2 disciples are out on assignments, so you are in luck I can show you the basics. Before we get started, Although you can use your lightning to forge, fire above all else in the best element to forge. So I do require you to practice and harness your fire magic, Don't worry I assure you this will only benefit you in the long run. Now come and watch"
Velex came a few feet besides Akon, he saw him taking an even larger hammer from one of the many shelf's. It wasn't much bigger but Velex was sure that even he might not be able to lift it. Akon took a rugged block of silver ore as well, he placed it on the metal table next to the lave pit. Velex then saw how Akon's fire energy circulate around the hammer, then it solidified at the tip of the hammer as he slammed down. As soon as the hammer hit the silver ore, his body shook with part of the room. he saw how every hit, molded the ore into a flat surface. The silver ore began to glow red, yet he couldn't feel the heat around it intensified. he had no clue why it glowed red if not for being smelted down by fire magic? soon the silver ore was completely flatten out, Akon put down his hammer and look towards the confused Velex.
"Wondering why the silver ore is glowing red, yet it isn't hot? this is your first lesson, although we use magic to help us mold hard materials. The main reason is to infuse the magic into the vessel, and can you tell me why you can't you feel any magic from this silver ore?"
He couldn't think of anything, he didn't know anything about magic forging all he had learn was about mortals not mages. Akon wasn't disappointed and continued .
"It's because the magic once infused into the material, must be sealed so it doesn't leak. that ring on your finger is a space ring, you can't feel any magic from it right? the items must be molded to restrain the magic within until an outside force acts upon it to cause it to respond or 'activate'. so this is your first task, you must forge an item the will hold your magic."
