The horror that Funmi was made to see was terrifying. She couldn't imagine Haggi going through this. Even if she knew the Prince was wrong, there was nothing she could do.
He would definitely clean up good. And if she were to report him to his father, he would still win since he was part of his favourite kids. He might even encourage him to pursue his goal (She didn't know that wasn't true).
Stories said that King Dele killed many men just for love. She wasn't entirely sure of it, but there was a possibility judging from the way his sons were behaving. They were possessive!
"It's enough Haggi. Bring her here" Dayo said.
He smiled when he saw her. She was shivering and sweating. But somewhere deep down, he felt hurt seeing her that way. She wasn't used to any of these and he was making her see it. Well, if she had just cooperated, there won't have been need for such.
He looked straight at her, while Funmi put her head down "Now...will you break up with him?" he asked again.
Funmi nodded her head painfully. She had no choice. The Prince was wicked. She thought.
Why would he do this to her? If he loved her, why did he let her see those horrifying things? She saw people's fingers being caught, their toes were also chopped off. It was killing. The screams kept ringing in her head. She couldn't imagine Haggi going through such. She would just die.
But what kind of a prince is this? A person who claims to love someone won't like to see them witness such. Maybe he didn't really love her, he was just not used to being rejected. Because it was hard to believe someone in love could do what he did.
"Good. Tomorrow, you go straight to him, break up with him and that marks the end you ever see him. After you are done, Davi will bring you to me. Is that understood?"
Funmi nodded her head. She was still trembling. She couldn't stop shaking. What kind of bad luck did she have? It would pain her to leave her only love. She had loved him since he was ten. How would she deal with this? She should have never gone for that stupid birthday party.
"Davi, escort her back home"
"Yes my Prince" Davi turned to Funmi "This way please"
Funmi nodded like a scared little child. All she could was obey like a good little Kitty. She walked wearily out of the dungeon with Davi guiding her.
After she left, Dayo screamed so loud. He was angered with the way he was behaving. Even though she agreed, it kind of pained him that she did. It only proved that she loved this boyfriend of hers.
Well, but he didn't care. She would eventually love him. She just needed to leave that guy. He sighed. Love was frustrating!

"Why? what happened?" Haggi asked confused.
"Nothing. I just don't feel the same way anymore...I am tired of this" Funmi replied, trying to control her emotions. She didn't want him to know that she was only lying to keep him safe. She knew who he was. He would fight for her even if it meant that his life was at stake. She had to be convincing.
Haggi walked closer to her but she moved back. She couldn't let him touch her. She might give in and he would be endangered.
"Just tell me what happened? Did anyone make you say this?" Haggi asked, confused.
Funmi was a bit shocked. Haggi was truly smart. How did his mind go there? They had never talked about another boy in her life, so how did he think to that side? Whatever, she had to put on a convincing face for his own good.
"How could you think that? No one did. I am just fed up. I want a new life" Funmi said, fighting her feelings. She tried her best not to avoid eye connection with him, unless it would only prove that she was lying. She kept a straight face with no emotions.
"A new life? What do you mean?" Haggi asked. They were outside his house. On a normal day, he would have taken her somewhere else but his baby sister was in there and he was the only around so he had to stay.
Now, Funmi was confused. Maybe, she shouldnt have said that, because she didn't even know the new life she wanted.
"Haggi, don't make this tougher than it already is" Funmi said, hoping to change the topic.
"How Funmi? How? Just yesterday, we had a good time and now you come to me today, telling me you are tired. We have been together for five years now. Have I ever made you feel bad? I did everything you wanted and I was there with you when you needed me. And now..." Haggi explained almost in tears. You could see that the break up was having an effect on him.
Funmi was trying hard to hold back the tears. Her mind flashed back to when she first saw Haggi.
"Aargh!" Little Funmi heard someone scream. She had accompanied her father to the farm along with her twin sister as usual. She rushed over to where the scream came from. Someone definitely was in trouble. She thought.
As she ran to find who it was, she stopped in track. Her father had warned her of kidnappers, that is why he advised that they never wandered off but she was a little enthusiastic and wanted to explore the forest.
Shaking her head, she decided to go find the person. The voice of the person was soft so it would most likely be a child and what could a child do?
Funmi was stunned when she saw a cute little boy holding his ankle which was bleeding. She ran over to him and asked "what happened?"
The little boy responded "I was running when my ankle suddenly hit something"
"Why were you running in the forest?" Funmi asked concerned.
Hopefully, it wasn't that deep. She took fresh leaves on the ground, squeezed it to bring out water. After pouring the water on it, she covered with the leaves and helped him up. She offered to take him home. His parents thanked her and reprimanded him for leaving the house without permission.
Before she left to go back to her father, the boy asked "what is your name?"
She replied "Funmi"
The boy also gave his name "My name is Haggi"
And from there, they became close friends before becoming lovers.
"Haggi, I am done. I don't like you anymore. I have only been staying with you because I was using you to do the work at the farm, but now I have no need of you. And besides, it is not right the way I am using you" Funmi said with so much affirmation.
She wanted Haggi to get the message. He was stubborn and smart so she had to be careful not to blow it all away. She needed to leave fast before she breaks down in tears.
"Funmi, are you really serious? if you want some space, then that..."
"No, I don't want space. I want this to be over" Funmi said, cutting him off.
"I can't believe this is happening"
"You better believe it for your own good"
"But..."
Cries from inside the house could be heard. Haggi's baby sister had woken up. She definitely needed someone now.
Haggi sighed "I don't know. You look serious. If that is what you really want, then there is nothing I can do" he said, hurt.
Of course, he knew something was wrong. Maybe she only needed space. He would get to the bottom of it.
"Thank you" Funmi said and ran off. She couldn't bear it anymore. Tears flowed down her cheeks as she ran until she was stopped by Dayo's right hand man. He took her to where Dayo was waiting for her.
"Is it done? Did you break up with him?" Dayo asked.
Funmi couldn't say anything. If she did, she would definitely cry so she nodded.
Dayo went further to ask "How do you feel?"
Of course she felt bad.
She didn't say anything for a while, but burst into tears later while looking at Dayo. Dayo was so annoyed and he said at the top of his voice "Don't make me go kill him myself!"
Immediately, Funmi stopped crying. She was shaking, which frustrated Dayo the more.
Aargh! that boy!
