"Darling is the best gift I could ever get."
"I will always and forever, love and protect my darling, okay?"
"No, you can't be her!"
"My darling was not so cruel."
"My darling used to be so sweet, so obedient."
"My darling daughter would have never done this."
"YOU CAN'T BE MY DARLING DAUGHTER!"
"GET LOST! I WAS BETTER OFF WITHOUT A DAUGHTER!!"
All these words remixed, replayed, again and again, in her head. Till they became one.
"Darling, what happened?" The same voice. The one which made her felt loved once upon a time, but abandoned her afterwards.
'No! This is the same sweet voice which is filled with love.'
Her head was spinning, she felt like she was coming back to consciousness.
"Darling, are you okay?"
She suddenly opened her eyes.
Shock. Shock was the only thing visible on her face. Pale face, wide-eyed, nothing, but shock.
The young woman once again asked her, "Sweety?"
The young woman seemed in her late twenties, nearing 30. And the little girl beside her looked around 4 years around. The little girl shook her head, shock still visible on her little face.
They were standing in front of an iron gate, behind which appeared a big mansion. A beautiful mansion. The woman kneeled in front of her daughter, showing concern, she asked, "Darling, are you alright?" The girl did not respond to her mother.
Her mother continued, "Lexi, I know you are scared, but don't worry sweety, mommy is here. She will always and forever, love and protect you, okay? You know that too, right? After all, Darling is the best gift mommy could ever get! So she will protect you with all her might."
'Same words. Exact same words.'
"So, are you ready?" her mother asked, inhaling a long breath.
Lexi didn't say anything. Her mother knew she was both scared and angry. Scared because once these doors open, they will also open a brand new life for her. And angry…
Angry because…her father just..died, and here they were, starting their new rich life. Without him. With new people. New family.
She heavily exhaled, held her daughter's tiny hands and began walking forward. Towards the iron gates, to start their new life.
Moving forward with blank eyes, Lexi was still, watching everything. Watching her mother take her in. Towards her future hell. And towards the people inside, the demons of that hell.
"Emy!" called out someone.
'That deep voice..' Her eyes brightened and suddenly looked up, and up came a handsome face. 'But he…'
"NO!" Lexi shouted and held onto her mother's leg.
Her mother was just walking over to the man, when Lexi hugged her leg. This surprised her.
'Lexi must be really scared.' Seeing her poor daughter's frightened face, Emy's heart ached.
"Emy.." called out the man again. Raising his thumb to show her his support and remained patient.
Yes, Emy was her name. A beautiful 28 year old young woman. Mother of the young Lexi, who loved her dearly but somehow had a change of heart later. Who gave Lexi both love and hate, and was one of the reasons why she ended her life (will be continued in the coming chaps).
She was wearing a white floral shirt and a long maroon coloured skirt with it. She was really gorgeous with blue eyes, long nose and rosy lips. Passing her wonderful genes to her daughter, who would grow up into an even more charming lady. For now, she looked very cute with her chubby face and greenish blue eyes, a cute nose and cherry lips. Lexi was wearing a maroon dress with white florals on it. Matching outfits with her mother, both of them were eye catching.
Emy kneeled down again and rubbed her daughter's back, soothing her. "It's alright Lexi. This man is Alex, he is mum's partner from now, so that makes him your dad, okay? Try calling him."
Lexi stared at the man, he in return gave her a small smile, it wasn't much, but his smile was filled with so much warmth that it would melt anyone's heart, especially a child who was looking for a father figure in her life.
'That same smile, the one that stole a million hearts, and the one that was my support throughout my 16 years here.'
Lexi teared up, she buried her head in her mother's embrace, and cried. A heartbreaking cry, letting out all her emotions. Her love, her hatred, her pain, her confusion and all the emotions that had made her endure, suffer and brought along only pain. The unsaid words and suppressed feelings from the past 20 years came flooding, in full force, making her heart ache.
She emptied her heart out by crying her last cry that day. Because she would only come back stronger from then on..
