"Kamio, Time to get up!" A woman yelled at her son from the bottom floor of their house.
The woman's son, Kamio, did not respond to the call from her. It was clear in the scowl the mother made, she was unhappy about this. She went upstairs and threw open his bedroom door and started to yell at him, "Kamio! Get up now or you'll be late for school!" She grabbed the sheets covering his body and pulled them off effortlessly, pulling Kamio off of the bed in the process,
"Honestly, you're sixteen years old. You should be waking yourself up."
Kamio opened his eyes and looked at his mother, "What time is it?" He asked his mom.
His mother looked at him with an even bigger scowl, "It's 7:00."
Kamio stood up and looked at his mom before saying, "I'll be in the shower." Making his way to the bathroom connected to his room.
His mother lost her scowl and started towards his bedroom door, "ok, well I'll be downstairs finishing breakfast."
After Kamio finished his shower, he dried his short brown hair and proceeded to dry the rest of his body. He walked out of the bathroom and over to his closet to grab a solid white shirt and pair of black pants. Kamio left his room and went downstairs to the kitchen. When he got to the kitchen his mother handed him a plate with eggs, bacon, and sausage on it. "Here you go."
His mom told him as he grabbed the plate. "Thanks," Kamio said as he sat down to eat.
After Kamio finished the food, he said bye to Mom and started towards the front door to leave for school. Before walking out the door, Kamio grabbed his black jacket that was sitting on a chair by the front door. After he was out of the door, Kamio started walking down the sidewalk.
Five minutes later, Kamio was at a crosswalk when a girl ran at him at full speed. "Kamio!" The girl yelled at Kamio after running into him, knocking him off balance and causing him to fall onto the ground.
"Watch where you're going, Sarah!" Kamio groaned as he stood up from being knocked over.
"Sorry. Sorry." The girl now identified as Sarah repeated a few times as Kamio stood up.
"So what do you want?" Sarah looked at Kamio with a nervous expression, "Um, n-nothing."
Kamio looked Sarah right in the eyes, "Tell the truth."
Sarah looked away from Kamio's serious stare. "Sarah!" Sarah continued to avoid his gaze, after another minute of waiting for an answer, Kamio started to walk across the crosswalk, leaving Sarah behind.
"H-hey! Wait a minute!" Sarah yelled, running to catch up to Kamio.
"Ok, I'll talk!" Sarah told him after catching up, "I forgot to do the English homework. So, I was wondering if I could copy yours?"
Kamio stared at Sarah with a stern look, "No." Kamio said walking off, leaving a shocked Sarah on the sidewalk.
Kamio made it to school five minutes before the final bell for the first period rang. Kamio walked through the door to his first-period class and sat at his desk on the far side of the classroom. 'Why do I have to be here, school's so boring.' Kamio thought to himself.
The teacher walked into the classroom and went over to her podium to start class, "Ok class, settle down."
After school ended, Kamio was walking home with Sarah walking beside him. "I'm so glad that there was a substitute in English class!" Sarah yelled out in glee.
"You know, you probably won't have enough time to do the homework," Kamio told her.
Sarah looked at Kamio with a mean glare. "Shut up!" Sarah yelled at Kamio before running ahead to a split in the road.
"Well, this is where we go our separate ways," Sarah told Kamio when he caught up.
"Yeah, I guess it is. Well anyways, see ya tomorrow, Sarah." Kamio told her, getting ready to walk off.
"Yeah, bye Kamio," Sarah told him, walking towards her house. Kamio continued to walk in silence, just thinking to himself.
'This life is so boring, I wish something more exciting would happen for once!' After that thought, Kamio walked in silence, until a woman in a dark blue hoodie and white pants walking down the direction Kamio was going passed him and whispered to him, "You better be careful what you wish for."
After that was said Kamio stopped in his tracks. The woman kept walking, Kamio couldn't see her face, because of the hoodie she wore. He decided to ignore what the woman had said until later.
Kamio walked through the front door of his house, "Mom! I'm home!"
Kamio didn't bother taking off his jacket and walked into the kitchen to find no one in there.
"Hm, I guess she's still at work. I'll just take a nap until she gets home then." Kamio said to himself while walking up the stairs to his room.
Kamio didn't change out of the clothes he wore to school and lay down on his bed, 'I wonder what that woman meant, "You better be careful what you wish for."' Kamio thought to himself before drifting off to sleep.
"Hey!" Kamio heard someone yelling at him while he slept.
"Hey! Can you wake up now!" The same person yelled at him again.
Kamio opened his eyes to see a little girl with shoulder-length blonde hair and yellow eyes staring right at his face.
"W-who are you?" Kamio asked the little girl. He was laying on the ground in a place no matter where he looked he would see blackness.
The little girl stuck out her hand for Kamio, "My name is Hiyori."
