"My dear! Wake up or you'll be late for school!" a female voice called out as she entered the room without knocking.
The boy who was fast asleep in his bed stirred a little and groaned.
"5 more minutes, mom," the boy answered with a groggy voice and turned away from the door which was the direction of the woman's voice.
The woman who could only be the sleeping boy's mother placed her hands on her hips and shook her head. She slowly made her way to the window on the other side of the room. She flung the curtains wide open, allowing the rays of morning sunlight to shine through the windows.
The sunlight hit the boy's face and the sudden brightness shocked him. He cringed a little and furrowed his eyebrows. Even so, he was not ready to wake up yet so he did the thing a child would do to hide from something. He pulled the covers over his head and stayed there.
