Annette rushed into the sleeping den as the rain started to pour. The weather had been dark and cloudy all day so everyone knew that the rain would come soon. Annette ended up being the last one in the den. She looked around and couldn't find Scott. Maybe he's helping Mitzi in her den? Annette didn't have too much time to think on the matter before a huge yawn escaped her muzzle. She curled up in her nest, and watched Denice and Alpha tell each other stories before they fell asleep. Adrien was muttering something in french as he went through his nest with his paws trying to find a thorn. While he was busy doing that Ivy tried to walk over unnoticed and curled up in the nest next to his. Ivy glared at Annette when she noticed that Annette was watching. Annette put her nose under her paw and went to sleep.

When Annette woke up the next morning the rain had not stopped. Yawning and stretching she made her way out of the den. She fluffed up her fur to keep her warm against the biting wind. With one glance around camp Annette didn't find her twin brother or Mitzi. That's when she started to worry. What happened?! Were they captured?! The questions running through her head were too much, so Annette bolted out of camp into the forest to look for clues. Her paws splashed in muddy puddles as she ran. Soon she reached the end of the border and stopped. There were human footprints full of rainwater. They looked too big to be Scott or Mitzi's. Annette's ears flattened as she followed the tracks across the border, and soon she found tire tracks. Sniffing was pointless since the rain had washed away any scents that would've been there, but Annette could tell what happened. They got caught...how did this happen? As she sat there in disbelief splashes sounded behind her. Upon turning around she saw Cypress, the bear queen herself, stalking up to her.
"What are you doing across the border?" Cypress growled. Annette stood up, and not caring that if they got into a fight or not, snapped at the bear.
"Don't you notice that Scott and Mitzi are missing?! Don't you see those tracks?!" Annette snarled. Cypress lazily glanced at the tire tracks in the mud.
"Yeah so?" She said.
"You don't even care do you!! Two of our tribemates just got captured by the humans and you don't even care!" Annette continued. Cypress growled and stomped her huge bear paw in a puddle.
"I don't know why this concerns me! They weren't smart enough to avoid the traps that we were so clearly told about! It would be better if they took you with them!" Annette took a step back,
"If Elder Paw asks, tell him I went after Scott and Mitzi." She snarled before running to follow the tire tracks. Cypress watched her leave, shrugged her broad shoulders and turned to go back to camp.
