"If this is the condition, it's better if you choose somebody else to take this opportunity." Lynn bluntly spoke and determined to reject her win.
She knew her father could find her anytime soon, but she's not a fool for her to reveal where she is now.
"You're a reserved staff, aren't you?"
By the looked of the producer, she already knew what he meant. She's just a reserved staff, so she has no right to refuse it. But she's not fazed about it.
"Yes." she answered shortly.
"Do you know who you are rejecting now?"
She couldn't help but smile at the producer, almost insulting him.
"I'm rejecting my winning of the raffle event, producer."she answered the producer without hesitation.
She knows she's not in a position to reject it. But she's not oblige either, since it's not part of her job as a reserve staff.
She looked at the vice president.
"My apologies, sir. I can't do what you want because I also have a private life."she said formally.
And she was about to get up from her seat, but the vice president stood up first.
"Miss Lynn-"
Her eyes trailed down at the paper that slipped off from the vice president's sleeve. Her forehead creased when she saw that it was a raffle ticket.
At the same time, Clyde gave a grim expression at his cousin because he saw the ticket.
"Leave us, we need to talk with her privately." Clyde ordered the producer and the staff because he knew the woman also saw it.
After the producer and the staff left, Clyde immediately confronted his cousin.
"What does that ticket mean?" Clyde asked reluctantly.
"What ticket?" Kyle asked, unaware that the two had discovered the suspicious act he had made.
Lynn stood up and picked up the ticket. "Sir, this ticket slipped off from your sleeve."she showed coolly to the vice president.
"That..."
Kyle could not answer because he knew that whatever he would say, he could not deny what he had secretly done.
Lynn placed her hand on her nape, and she looked intently at the vice president.
She thought the stub on her desk and the suspicious ticket.
Her lips twisted, she finally understands her inexplicable win.
She's not the one who won the raffle event, but the owner of the ticket that she's holding now.
The vice president may have secretly exchanged her ticket. But for what reason, she asked in her mind.
"Sir, you're the one who bought my raffle ticket, and you put the stub on my table."she affirmed.
Clyde took a deep breath as he looked at Kyle.
"What's on your mind that you..."he berated Kyle, but he couldn't continue. It was obvious that he's holding back his anger.
"Find the owner of that ticket."he commanded.
Compensate the woman and the actual winner of the event is a must for Clyde.
Lynn rested her back on the sofa. She's quietly observing Clyde and the vice president. It seems that her time is not wasted, for she's actually interested in the turn of events.
"Wait, calm down. I'll explain." she nodded sympathetically when the vice president said this to Clyde.
"Miss Lynn, yes, I bought your raffle ticket and put its stub on your table, for I thought you're the right woman to date Clyde."
She nodded again at what the vice president has just said. However, Clyde is annoyed even more.
"Sir, I do not object to what you did. It is an event of the company and you have the right to do what you want."
The vice president immediately sat down and looked at her like an angel descended from heaven.
"You're right, Miss Lynn. I had no bad intentions."
She straightened her back, and she looked directly at the vice president. "But I want to know if you know me personally, Sir. I mean, you would not pick me without reason behind it."
She has a hunch that the vice president knew who she is. And her father may have talked to him.
Setting her up for a date is also her father's strategy for her to return to their mansion.
The vice president is doubtful, then he looked at Clyde, "The truth is, I ordered my secretary to look you here in the company."
Then does this mean that her father really knows where she is now?
"Clyde wants to meet you because of what you said on the rooftop."
Clyde looked at Kyle with disbelief in his eyes, he's really frustrated with Kyle.
"Rooftop? What did I blabber on the rooftop-"
Lynn stopped abruptly. If the vice president is referring to what she said on the rooftop that caused him to look for her, then she assumed it's the thing she said about Clyde and the raffle event.
"Don't you remember, Miss Lynn? It was only four days ago."
Lynn looked at the vice president. "You know, performance? Bed? -"
"Aren't you really going to stop?" Clyde warned Kyle.
Her eyes widened, and she smiled playfully.
"Uh-huh.. so you looked for me and made me win the event because of what I said. Did I perhaps hit your ego?"she questioned Clyde teasingly.
Clyde pursed his lips, contemplating if he really needs to explain himself. As far as he knows, he has no idea about what's happening now.
Lynn noticed that Clyde has no plans to talk to her, "Or you probably thought that I'm the first woman to tell you this." she provoked him even more.
It's on her mind the tagline, 'you're the first woman who treated me like this'. She's sick with this line.
Clyde looked unbelievably at the woman. His patience with her arrogance reached its point.
"Miss, I don't know you, and I don't care about you." he spoke rudely.
"Ah... that's why I suddenly had ticket raffle, and then I won miraculously?"she teased again.
Clyde tousled his hair, and he pointed at Kyle. "It's his plan, so ask him why did you win."
Lynn looked at the vice president, but he also pointed at Clyde. "He wants to talk with you, so I made you win the event."
Clyde is fuming mad. " I repeat, I have nothing to do with that."he said angrily.
"Miss Lynn, actually it's my plan. If a fan is chosen, she might chase Clyde even after this event, so I decided to find you." The vice president admitted, for he knew Clyde would burst at any moment.
"But how are you sure that I would not do the same?"she asked.
"I know that you're not interested wiyh my superstar. But I would still like you to claim this prize."
She has a straight-face, but she's actually undecided about it.
Well, she's satisfied with the vice president's answer. And it's also a relief because her father is not associated with him.
"And what can I get if I agree?"
