Chapter 8 - Jeanette Murchadha

New York City, NY

"Where the hell are you going? Are you daft?" Jeanette Murchadha asked the driver, to which she received no answer. Jeanette would never admit it, but she was starting to feel scared. She looked at the driver in the rearview mirror. A man, seemingly in his late twenties, with green eyes and dirty blonde hair. She tried to memorize every aspect of his face so she could report him to the taxi cab company, but to her surprise, his face seemed to keep shifting. One moment he had round eyes, a sharp nose and full lips, the next he had almond shaped eyes and a stubby nose with a thin line as his lips. No matter how long she stared at his face she couldn't seem to pinpoint what he looked like. The only thing that stayed the same was the emerald green of his eyes. He was undeniably handsome, she decided, with every change his face took. She stopped staring at him and started looking at her surroundings again. She was so engrossed in the man's changing face and questioning herself if she was going crazy, she forgot to look around her. They were growing farther and farther from the tourist friendly face of New York City and heading into the more industrial area on the outskirts of the city. She was growing more panicked with each second.

"Sir, where are you taking me?" she asked in a small voice, hoping that politeness would placate him. Having received no answer, she grew irritated, but she kept her voice small and polite, as if they were just having a conversation and she wasn't being kidnapped. "I have a meeting to get to. People will be looking for me. Just take me back and we can forget this ever happened." She was already trying to figure out which cab company this cab belonged to, so she could look up the number later and report this asshole. While she was thinking, the cab driver finally decided to speak.

"Ah yes," He said in a nonchalant voice, "The meeting with your heroin smugglers. It's already being taken care of."
