After meeting up with the Athena crew again, they told them about what they discovered on planet Kayu and about the Polaris crew, which landed heavily on the crew's mind. Once they disclosed all the information they knew, the two crews began to make their way over to the planet Cararam. They maintained a peaceful but tense silence as they travelled across the galaxy towards the next planet, only notifying each other when some questions arose about the current situation.
Onboard the Janus ship, everyone was silent. A thick tense atmosphere lingered between the crew members as they carefully travelled across towards the Cararam planet. Nearly all of them thought about what they witnessed on planet Kayu, seeing the people they admired so much dead right before them, and they could do nothing about it. Probably, the person who had the most on his mind was Luciel; the kidnapping and possibility of her being dead weighed heavily in the petite young man's thoughts.
As the silence grew thicker, Luciel abruptly stood up, a clear expression portraying his inability to sit still lingered on his face as he swiftly left the bridge. Chronos glanced across the others in the bridge, contemplating whether or not he should go and perhaps comfort the emotional Luciel. His eyes crossed the other members, most of which kept to themselves as they remained silent, focusing on the task at hand - locating the pirates and retrieving Sofia.
Ultimately deciding that he shouldn't leave Luciel alone, he hastily followed him through the ship towards one of the cargo bays. Chronos couldn't leave him alone, after what he did for him back when the crew doubted his intentions, Luciel was the only one who actually listened to him and got his side of the story.
After weaving his way through the corridors and towards the cargo bay, he had lost sight of Luciel and didn't know which one he entered. All the doors were shut and locked tightly so the probability that Chronos could get into them this time was highly unlikely.
"Luciel?" He called out, knocking on each thick metal door, "which one are you in?"
Silence.
Chronos was met with silence as he passed each cargo bay, no noise came from any of them. He passed by them again, calling out to Luciel and hoping that he would at least make some noise, if not properly respond. Minutes passed by and no sort of response came from Luciel. Chronos didn't want to leave it like that but he didn't exactly know the codes to open the cargo bay's doors.
"There's got to be another way in..." He mumbled to himself as he paced back and forth in front of the bays.
As he paced heavily in front of the bays, a sudden small voice erupted from behind one of the bay doors. Instantly, Chronos stopped moving and tried to listen to the voice more carefully.
"What is it?" A barely audible voice came from behind the third cargo bay door.
"Luciel?!" Chronos called out, "can you open the door?"
Standing in front of the third cargo bay door, he waited for Luciel to open the door. A few minutes had passed and nothing budged. Not the door or anything. He quickly realised that if he wanted to talk to him, face to face, he'd have to get inside the bay in his own way. Pacing back and forth in front of the door, he contemplated and thought about ways to enter the bay without using the door.
After a couple of minutes of thinking, a sudden realisation hit him. Without saying a word, he wandered further down the corridor towards escape pods that hid a vent entrance. Crawling into the vent, which he sadly had to admit was big enough for him to fit into, he slowly made his way in the direction of the third cargo bay. Fortunately for Chronos, he had already memorized the vents layout across the whole ship when he was hiding from the crew before. It didn't take him long before he reached the third cargo bay and, without warning, he leapt into the bay to see Luciel curled up into a ball, tears streaming down his face.
"Luciel..." He quietly said, lingering his words as he gently made his way closer to the petite two-tone haired man.
"How did you get in here?" His words were muffled by his arms as he remained still, "I thought you didn't know the code."
Sitting down beside the curled up, and depressed, Luciel, Chronos replied, "well, the vents weren't locked."
Silence lingered between the two guys, Chronos didn't exactly know what to say or how to help Luciel. It was the first time he had to deal with something like this, especially with someone who he hoped would class them as friends. Not knowing what to say or do, he glanced around the bay in search of a topic that he could bring up.
Before he could think of something to say or ask, Luciel mumbled, "why are you even here?"
Chronos snapped his head up as he saw Luciel had moved positions and is now sat up with his knees to his chest. His tears seemed to have dried up but his dark eyes were still glazed from the crying.
"You're worried and scared and sad." He simply replied, "I shouldn't leave you alone, I should maybe try to help and comfort you instead."
"Why would you? We've not even known each other for long." He stated, turning his head away from Chronos.
Pausing for a second, Chronos answered, "you helped me when everyone doubted me, didn't you? I should help you when you need it... At least, that's what my mother would say."
"She sounds like a good person," it was clear to Chronos that Luciel hadn't finished speaking, "but you don't need to comfort me, actually, I'd rather be alone right now."
"Are you sure about that?" Chronos asked, pulling his legs up as he rested the side of his face on his knees and glanced to Luciel, "because if I was in your position, I wouldn't want to be alone. If I was told that my sister was kidnapped or possibly dead, I'd be so scared that I'd probably do something I shouldn't."
"You have a sister?" Luciel asked, "I didn't know that."
"I don't have a sister, I have an older brother instead." He admitted, "I thought using sister would be better, but maybe not?"
"An older brother?" He hummed, "I had one too."
Suddenly, Chronos' heart sank as he realised what tense Luciel was speaking in.
"Had?" He asked, partially wishing he didn't as he noticed Luciel's eyes prick with small fresh tears.
"He died a couple of years ago in a car crash." He admitted, forcing his tears back, "I've gotten used to him not being around but I still get an empty feeling from time to time."
"I'm sorry..." He sympathised as much as he could with Luciel, "that must be why everything that's happening with your sister is so hard on you."
He nodded lightly as he turned away from Chronos, "I really hope she's still alive, but from what happened with the other members of the Polaris crew... Probably not. I-I just want to see her at least one more time."
"I get how you feel..." Chronos admitted, before realising what he had just said, "wait-no! Ignore me!"
"I thought your family was still alive?" Luciel questioned, "well... You never mentioned that they died so I assumed that."
Awkwardly chuckling, Chronos stood up and pulled Luciel to his feet, "precisely. My family's... Actually! I shouldn't tell you this, just- just ignore me! 'Kay? Everything's fine! Let's head back to the bridge and rescue your sister who I'm sure is alive."
