Kasuyi sat at his table, his hands tracing a complex rune in the air, wisps of golden energy following the paths that were traced by his fingers. He stared intensely at Quint, who sat opposite from him, all the while.
"So, you want to know the truth?" He asked.
"Of course, I do! It's the only reason I followed you all the way out here!" Quint bit back, frustrated, and on his last fuse. Kasuyi had been dragging out the entire thing, teasing his mind with the prospect of knowing this truth.
"Haha! You sure are eager. For all you might know, maybe I just want to kill you. Deprive the Army of a talented Lord Class powerhouse; maybe even mess with your memories and thoughts, and have you serve me instead." Kasuyi stopped waving his hands, placing them on the table and staring down Quint.
The lightning mage felt a prick of cold killing intent as he stared down Kasuyi's dark eyes. "You wouldn't get anything out of my death."
