Chapter 3 - Crisis

Fiala nodded as her body shook from so many eyes on her.

Jr was quite surprised out of everyone there, having been living with Dreadtooth and his clan he never knew that he had creatures that did his bidding.

Obviously everyone was careful about what to say to him, he wouldn't be surprised if everyone was against telling him about anything.

Lockjaw glared, "I believe that this wedding is a sham."

Grim looked at him with a serious expression. "I wouldn't be surprised."

Gambit sighed after patching up the wound, he looked up as he said. "What's the plan?"

Devastate looked at Bloodmaw who was unconscious, he would be out of it for a while. "I think we should be careful. If Dreadtooth has creatures he could use, we got to be on guard."

Fiala looked even more remorseful than ever, she was starting to see how her father truly was.

"Did you get the wound under control?", asked Adder as he looked at Gambit.

Gambit gave him a look before crossing his arms and replying. "Yeah, stopped the bleeding so he should be fine."

Belle looked at Devastate silently with a frown, while Ruby looked toward the tree line.

Scarface narrowed his eyes, "Creatures or not, what we need to focus on is this war that Jr mentioned."

"War? Against who?", spoke Lockjaw with surprise.

Fiala looked away as everyone slowly looked at her. "A war against a clan of fish eaters, that was what my father always said..."

Grim frowned, "Of course. I am not surprised."

For some time, rexes and spinosaurus never could see eye to eye. There was a rivalry between them, much like that line that was broken between herbivores and carnivores.

Old wounds always had a hard time in trying to recover. Sometimes those wounds would never heal.

For so many years, everyone would stay with their own kind. Their own species. Now everyone was waking up and seeing the whole world in a different way. Those that were with their own kind were now working together with different species.

Of course some would judge them, but that couldn't be helped.

This world was rapidly becoming a different place, and everyone knew it. It was also scary, after all the future was hard to determine.

What will happen when this new world comes?

Jr frowned as he looked at Fiala, "One thing is for sure, we can't go back to Dreadtooth. We did, I can't guarantee our survival."

Fiala looked at him, her eyes shook. "Y-You're right..."

Devastate looked at the two of them before saying, "We will do everything in our power to keep you safe."

Jr smiled at him in gratitude, "Thank you."

Lockjaw looked over at Harmony and his daughters, his massive frame moved toward them.

"Everyone, Be on guard.", spoke Devastate as he walked over to Bloodmaw. "Make no mistake, we could be attacked again."

Nina frowned as she looked at Adder who had a serious expression.

Things were only going to get worse from here.

A commotion was some what going on as everyone was talking to one another. Dreadtooth glared about the fact that his daughter went with Jr to Bloodmaw and his clan.

It could not be avoided, after all Jr no doubt talked her into it.

Letting out one of his mutations to chase after them was probably a reckless call but if they were scared about the power he had then maybe he could save this plan of his. If not, oh well he could improvise.

The wedding was supposed to be early in the next morning, it would seem that he would have to change it up. Just a tad.

The wedding was not a important thing, not to him anyway. It was just a little thing to cover up his true intentions. Either way, he was going to lead everyone to war.

"First squad, get ready.", he gave his command.

A bunch of rexes began to move in order at his command, many of them were getting prepped for combat. Many sharp bones were being placed upon each side of their jaws.

Dreadtooth watched his warriors with a smirk on his lips, he looked at the others who were preparing to move out once he gives the signal. Jr probably won't return, and Fiala maybe to scared to return.

Which wasn't concerning, after all he could easily go back and get them.

He had the power to shape the world in his image, this new approaching world was destined to be his.

He was going to be the first to launch a war, and he was going to be the very first to win it as well.

No world can be run in peace, not with them clumsy drooling beasts out there. Along with weak individuals who were scared of embracing the future.

A world has to be shaped through strength, wisdom, and fearlessness. More importantly, hard work.

Dreadtooth looked at the sky, the day was slowly beginning to turn dark as the middle of the day approaches. He had lost a variety of scouts, and he had that spinosaurus clan to thank for it.

They clearly didn't know who they were messing with.

He was not worried, he lacked the ability to feel worried or scared. To be the ruler of the new changing world, he would have to show nothing in the face of upcoming challenges that would stand before him.

Dreadtooth smirked bigger as he walked toward the cave where his wonderful mutations were. Opening the cave various eyes looked at him from the darkness.

"It's time.", Dreadtooth smiled in a confident way. "Are you ready to kill?"

He chuckled as these beasts responded with sharp hisses and ominous sounding growls.

Under the trees and hiding under the various amount of bushes, Helm and Dingo watched from a high point over Dreadtooth's clan. Both of them looked at each other with grim looks over their faces.

"This is bad eh?", spoke Dingo looking out to the many rexes that were moving in the clan. The sight of many large rexes moving with large amounts of armor and weapons tied to the sides of their mouths was bone chilling.

Helm nodded, "Yeah. To have this many warriors only means one thing."

Dingo frowned as he shifted his head. "Aye, How about we move out and let the others know?"

Helm nodded, full on board with his idea.

Helm and Dingo both got up and they skillfully moved back to Bloodmaw and the others. The trees and vast amounts of vegetation were on their side.

Unaware of the soon approaching danger, Sharpclaw's clan were merely getting ready for a wedding. A genuine wedding of Smaug and Cobalt.

Flaay was preparing a feast for the new couple to be, everyone was in high spirits.

Laughter, cheering, and positive energy flowed through the clan.

Cobalt was nervously smiling as she was getting prepped to be married tonight. Pretty looking leaves, and flowers of the marsh were being placed around her head and neck. A flower crown rested on her head as she fidgets to herself.

While Smaug accepts bones hand chosen by Sharpclaw. His head was adorned with bones that were put together to look like a crown. It was supposed to be festive, after all this was a happy event.

Smaug of course looked at the crown with a frown.

Sharpclaw looked at him with a smirk, "You don't like it?"

Smaug looked at him as he took it off, "Not really. It looks horrible."

Sharpclaw laughed, "I don't blame you my boy! I couldn't wear that thing either!"

Smaug gave him a small smile as he put the crown on Sharpclaw's head. "I think it fits you?"

Sharpclaw blinked and he took it off, "I ain't the one marrying my daughter!"

Smaug smirked before looking to the side, he was curious about Cobalt. Sharpclaw had said that she should be done with getting ready.

Sharpclaw looked at him curiously before remembering, "Cobalt! Are you done!?!"

Cobalt cautiously speaks up, "I guess...? But you guys shouldn't see me!"

Sharpclaw blinked as he looked to where she was hiding. "Who cares about that mambo jumbo! This is supposed to be a fun time for you and your husband!"

Smaug was focused on where her voice was, a curious look upon his features.

How exactly did she look? It couldn't be that bad right?

Cobalt sighed out in a overdramatic way, "Fine! I am coming out..."

Smaug blinked with wide eyes once she stepped out of hiding, the flowers were a light blue and purple as they blended well with her body and her colors. Sharpclaw was very impressed as he clapped his claws, "My goodness don't you look good!"

Cobalt flustered hard as she looked away, her hands in front of herself. "Shut up will you..."

Sharpclaw looked at Smaug as he smiled, "Well?"

Smaug looked at her for a moment more before he approached her, Cobalt blinked looking up at him in surprise. She closed her eyes when she felt him put something on her head. "..?"

Cobalt looked up as she curiously touched her head, she blinked when she felt the crown. "Uh, isn't this yours?"

Smaug smirked, "Crowns don't look good on me."

Sharpclaw laughed, "I supposed that works!"

Cobalt looked away looking embarrassed, she never would of thought that her wedding would ever happen. It surprised her that she would be marrying the guy who gave her a fish upon their first meeting.

Smaug looked at her before saying, "You look beautiful."

Cobalt looked at him with wide eyes, she flushed extremely as she smiled. "Thank you..."

Sharpclaw smiled as he looked at his clan who were all ecstatic about the wedding. Though, some females looked upset about Smaug marrying.

The whole day would be about Smaug and Cobalt, when the night comes would they be married. The both of them would face the world together.

Flaay walked over to Smaug and Cobalt, he had a brotherly look upon his features. "Smaug you better take care of her. She be like a sister to me."

Cobalt looked at Flaay with a smile. "I am not going anywhere."

Flaay smiled at her, "Oh I know. I still want him to promise me though!"

Smaug gave him a smile, "Oh I will."

To see such a smile on his face made Cobalt blush a bit. Why was it that she was marrying him? It was also due to her dad who talked her into it. She didn't mind it but she didn't know if she could be the wife that he deserved.

Did all new brides feel like this when they got married?

Smaug looked at her which made her blink in surprise, to have him look at her made her feel funny. Did he want to marry her, or was he doing this for her father?

The next words out of his mouth made her gasp loudly. Her face was far from priceless.

Smaug smiled at her as his right hand took a hold of hers. "I suppose she is my blue gem."

Flaay laughed at Cobalt's face, Sharpclaw smiled as he nodded. "That is right! Gems need polishing on the daily!"

Cobalt hid her face with her left hand, she was more or less fried from such words. It was only cause she never would of thought that Smaug would say them, especially to her in front of everyone.

Was he teasing? He must be!

Smaug looked at Sharpclaw as he smirked, "I suppose that is true. I will polish her everyday then."

Cobalt looked at him with a bewildered expression, while Smaug smiled at her with a cheeky grin.

Flaay walked away as he said, "I can't believe Cobalt has found herself a man! Got to make sure he doesn't leave her!"

Sharpclaw smiled after Flaay, "Don't worry he won't! I am sure he loves her! Who wouldn't love a gem like her?"

Smaug smirked at Sharpclaw and Flaay, while Cobalt covers her face with both of her hands. She didn't know if she would last the day as well as the night. This was all to much for her and that was evident for her face was as red as blood.

The clan was enjoying this happiness, everyone was happy for Smaug and Cobalt. Everyone was looking at them like they were part of a family. Like all families they stay together, no matter what.

Sharpclaw blinked however when Vallun walked up to him, his eyes were intense.

Sharpclaw frowned as he said, "What's up?"

Vallun looked at him as he said, "Dreadtooth is on the move, he is coming."
