Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: The Stage is Set!

Saiba and Gladius sit with tense expressions in the Castle. Staring up at the projections, Saiba asks,

"Hey, Mr. Gladius. How exactly do the Districts work?"

Gladius begins explaining,

"I'm glad you asked! Estrelia City is split up into 6 sections known as Districts! They're laid out like a flower with Districts 1 through 5 as petals on the exterior and District 6 in the middle! Each District is managed by one of the commanders and they have the job of protecting the city! Of course, it may not look like it right now, but they do a very good job! You should've seen Freidrich's work around the Academy and Liz's work at the Haven!"

Saiba thinks,

"I guess there's more to the commanders than just being good at fighting... I wonder if I could be one someday..."

The scene cuts to Estrelia City where Sylvie is dishing out orders. She calls out in a soft tone,

"Everyone from the 5th Division! I'd like you to gather the people in the 6th District! And bring anyone that's injured to me, okay?"

The group of people standing before her all wear pearly, white clothing, similar to nurses. They quickly disperse to carry out their orders.

In a swift and orderly fashion, the 5th Division begins gathering the citizens to an open space in the 6th District. Some have burns and wounds, but most are left unharmed.

As they continue gathering, other members of the 5th Division hand out provisions like food and water. Suddenly, a loud voice shouts out,

"Is everyone okay!?"

The voice comes from a blonde-haired man wearing large armor. Sylvie looks over and calls out,

"Oh my, it's Sammy! It's nice to see you here!"

Samuel stomps over with his crew of females trailing behind. Samuel smiles at her and replies,

"Hey Sylvie! Working hard like always, I see! Just what I would expect from a commander of the Royal Army!"

Sylvie suggests,

"Thanks, I appreciate that! I could always use a helping hand, though."

Samuel answers,

"I suppose I could spare some time for the people! Just tell me what to do! These three can help too!"

He points to the girls standing behind him. Sylvie smiles instructs,

"Sammy, you can help in the field by looking for people! You girls can help here by handing out food and water, alright!"

Samuel salutes and shouts,

"Yes ma'am!"

They split up to fulfill their roles. Sylvie turns back to what she was doing as rows of injured people lay in front of her. She mumbles,

"Now then... Could you lend me a hand, Samenia?"

Behind Sylvie, a pool of water appears and begins forming into some sort of humanoid. It has the appearance of a mermaid but without the fishtail. Sylvie holds both her hands out and chants,

"Undine's Heavenly Prayer."

The injured people get encompassed in water and they hover slightly in the air. The water begins to glow as beneath, the people's burn marks and wounds are being mended instantly.

The water stops glowing as they are lowered to the ground and the water dissipates.

One by one the previously injured people begin sitting up and look as if they were never injured at all.

While this is all happening, just outside of the city, the battle is beginning with Gremly and her 3rd Division at the head of it all.

Outside the gates of Districts 1 to 5, groups of soldiers stand, ready for combat. The 3rd Division is built of smaller fighters that look to be very speedy. Gremly shouts,

"Come on boys! Ride like the wind!"

All the once, the forces of the 3rd Division charge. Zooming towards the separate enemy squadrons, they attack, wasting no time.

Swiftly and cleanly, they weave between the horde of monsters, dealing damage as they go. The monsters fall, contrasting the stability of the Royal Army. Saiba watches and comments,

"Woah... I thought her team would've been all over the place, but I guess they're better than I thought..."

Gladius replies,

"Of course! The Royal Army only has the best of the best!"

Going back to the battle, the monster's numbers continue to fall and the 3rd Division continues advancing. Gremly, who was stationed in front of the 3rd District, leaps into the air.

She dives down, performing a double somersault and slicing into a hobgoblin with her two daggers. She continues onward, holding one arm out and chanting,

"Choke Hold!"

A thread of dust shoots out of her hand and into the mouths of some monsters. They begin shaking and convulsing before flopping to the ground unconscious. She giggles a little and mutters,

"Let's speed this up a bit!"

She holds both her daggers out, flips them in the air, catches them, and slashes in front of her, howling,

"Let loose, Dust Devil!"

Starting out small, a dusty spiral begins growing into a large tornado, pulling monsters in and spitting them back out at quick speeds.

During this, Alizandria stands, with her arms crossed, on a cliff, overlooking the battlefield. She calls out,

"How does the opposing army look?"

A woman, wearing similar business clothing as her, replies,

"Enemy numbers are down around 40%, ma'am!"

Alizandria mutters,

"Is it time, Freidrich?"

Beside her, Freidrich stands, keenly watching the battle as he answers,

"This should be enough."

Alizandria commands,

"Send the signal!"

A group of similarly fashioned, business-attire-wearing people salute, holding some sort of firearm. In unison, they fire as white balls come out, in varying directions.

Back on the battlefield, white particles begin falling as Gremly takes notice. She realizes and instructs,

"That's the signal! Let's get out of here!"

Standing in front of the 2nd District, Rigurd mutters,

"It seems our time has come."

The 2nd Division line up in front of the gates. They are all very large people who wear heavy sets of armor.

Similarly, Alvard stands in front of the 1st District and shouts,

"Let's give 'em hell!"

The members of the 1st Division shout their battle cries in response. They consist of various fighters who can be identified by the matching crimson capes they wear on their left shoulders, like Alvard.

Lily and Lazaro stand beside each other and ready themselves for battle.

Like a tag-team swapping positions, the 3rd Division retreats into the city and tags the 1st and 2nd Division in as, together, they march into the fray.
