Saiba opens his eyes and finds himself in an unknown room.
He is laying on a bed only wearing his basic, brown clothing. His vision is still blurry as he sits up and scans the room. At the opposite end of the room, he spots a girl sitting on a chair.
The girl has long brown hair and she is wearing some white armor with a gold trim. There also seems to be some sort of rapier strapped to her back. He lazily asks,
"Who are you?"
He lies back down to try to fall asleep again. Suddenly, Saiba notices something is wrong as he looks back at the girl and shouts,
"Who are you?!"
The girl is rudely awoken from her nap as she falls out of her chair and lands face-first on the floor.
Saiba jumps out of bed and gets in a defensive pose as he notices his armor is missing. He looks around again and sees his armor and sword laid out on a table.
The girl gets up with a demonic glare and shouts at Saiba,
"I just saved you! Can't you be more grateful!"
Saiba thinks to himself,
"Saved? Me?"
He flashes back to the events before he blacked out. He remembers the flying figure above him and the glowing weapon. He looks back at the girl and asks,
"Wait, that was you?"
He notices she has an aura of flaming rage surrounding her. Saiba gets scared and nervously says,
"P-Please forgive me for my rudeness!"
Saiba gets on the floor and bows intensely. The girl now has an annoyed look as she says,
"I'll forgive you for now... Anyways, shouldn't you introduce yourself first before asking someone who they are?"
Saiba says with a little shake in his voice,
"O-Oh yes! Of course! H-How silly of me! hehe... My name is Saiba Okumura! I'm an adventurer from a different world and I was sent by the King to be the hero of this Kingdom!"
The girl replies,
"So you're the hero everyone's been talking about. You seem kinda weak for a hero."
"I bet you don't even know what [Skills] are,"
She says in a joking manner. Saiba replies what a puzzled look,
"Skills?"
Saiba lies and says with complete confidence,
"Oh! Skills! Of course I know what those are!"
The girl has a doubtful look as she says,
"Uh sure... Anyways how are you gonna save the Kingdom when you're so weak?"
Saiba answers with an annoyed look,
"I'm pretty strong you know! I'm already Level 11!"
The girl looks like she's about to burst out laughing,
"Pfft! Level 11!"
With the same annoyed look, Saiba shouts,
"You seem pretty confident there? Why don't you tell me what level you are?"
The girl replies,
"Fine then!"
She then pulls out her SI and turns it toward Saiba to show her stats. It reads,
[---- Lily ----. Level 23. ATK: 27. DEF: 21. SPD: 32]
Saiba reads it and taken aback by the high stats. He also notices how her name is mostly blurred out aside from 'Lily', but he thinks nothing of it. He whispers to himself,
"So Lily's her name... Wait nevermind that! Level 23! And all of her stats are higher than mine!"
He says to the girl embarrassingly,
"Those are some pretty good stats. M-Mine are obviously higher, but yours are pretty good too. Anyways... Thanks for saving me but I gotta go train some more. See ya!"
Saiba gets up and heads towards the door, when Lily grabs him and says,
"Wait up! Look at yourself! How are you gonna get any training done with your injuries!"
She pauses to think and explains,
"I'll make a deal with you. I'll treat your injuries and even help you train a bit... but you have to take me with you to the Underworld! I have some business there that I need to take care of."
Saiba stops and thinks about it for a moment and decides while saying,
"All I have to do is take you to the Underworld and you'll help me get better and train me...? Sure, I'll take you up on that deal!"
Saiba sticks his hand out to shake Lily's hand. She grabs his hand and shakes it while saying,
"By the way, I'm doing all of this for my sake. I don't care about what happens to you at all!"
"Yeah, yeah. I get it,"
Saiba replies. In his head he's thinking,
"Oh, so she's a tsundere..."
Lily starts to head towards the door while announcing,
"We start training tomorrow! Meet me at Slime Hills at sunrise! You better not be late!"
Saiba nods and walks back to bed while thinking,
"I guess my adventure really has begun..."
