The alarm rings again... louder this time and I know it's time to get up. I don't want to, but if I don't Oli is gonna kill me. Oliver Lourdes is my best friend who is going to be honking at my front door anytime from now.
As every teen novel begins, its the first day of school and I am so not looking forward to it. Clichê right? Yeah. Can Never start the day without Rihanna so I pick up my phone- where is my phone- oh! .. So I pick up my phone swipe right and play "Man down" by Rihanna.
Oh mama mama mama.. I just shot a man down
Now I'm brushing my teeth.. And Lord do I look like a wreck! Anyways, I do the normal stuff one does in the bathroom in less than 5 minutes. That's right! I'm that kind of girl. I don't spend half an hour getting ready for school.
I don't even have to worry about what I'm going to wear because it's always a hoodie and a joggie. That's what I call sweatshirts and sweatpants. That's basically what I wear 24-7.
I don't do dresses, or tank tops or skinny jeans. If it's a T-shirt and it's not extra xtra large, I ain't wearing it and if it's pants and it's not extra xtra baggy, it's not for me.
And I love my baggy clothes because thanks to them I don't got to worry about wearing Bra! You heard me.. I'm that kind of girl.
I put on my only pair of shoes -my black timberlands, throw some books into my bag and I am ready. Oh wait! Tie my hair up into a messy bun and I am ready and I've got time to spare before Oli gets here. In the mean time, let me tell you guys how I spent my summer vacation.
Started off with a camping trip with Oli and his grandparents which was really cool by the way. We caught a bear in our bear trap but it got away because grandpa Nelly couldn't decide on which bullet he wanted to kill the bear with. And we had to listen to grandma Mary rant on and on and on about the nice soup she would have made with the bear meat.
Then after that, Oli and I volunteered in the animal shelter. Which was fun for me but not for Oli. We had no idea that he was allergic to hamsters. Weird right? I know! (In Monica Galler's voice) We didn't last that long in the shelter.
Then after that we both decided to look for jobs.. no wait! That was after I got my driver's license (wink).
Okay before we decided to look for jobs, my runaway step-mom came back from Huwaii. And then she took to me Mexico with her current boyfriend Josh. The trip was not as bad as I half expected it to be though. Maybe that's because I actually like Josh. He's not like the other lazy ass boyfriends runaway step-mom had over the years. He's actually a smart guy that doesn't take runaway step-mom bullshit (excuse the language).
So after my trip from Mexico, that's when Oli and I decided to get a job. So currently I'm a waitress at a Diner not so far from school and Oli works in a garage across town.
You don't hear my line no more oh oh.. You don't make it ring ring ring ring
It's runaway step-mom calling;
"Hey kiddo!"
"Hey Kristen. Good morning" her voice is always so squeaky in the morning.
"Morning Kiddo. Just wanted to make sure you're up and ready for school. You know it's the first day of school, summer vacation is over now"
Like I didn't already know that.
"Yeah I'm up. I'm waiting for Oliver to pick me up"
"Oh that hottie--"
"He's not a hottie!" This runaway step-mom of mine can be so frustrating
"Of course you would say that. You've friend-zoned the poor boy. Have you had your breakfast?" I can hear her giggle through the phone, so annoying.
Oliver is a hottie no cap, but I can't say that because he's my best friend yunno. He's like my brother.. And nobody calls their brother a hottie. It's gross!
"No I haven't had my breakfast"
"Eat something please. You're so skinny and lifeless. Okay I've got to go. Call me after school and if you need anything"
"Sure thing Kristen" I won't
"Okay Bye Kiddo. Love ya"
"Yeah bye" the line disconnects. And right on cue, I hear Oliver honking.
