i tear paper till my fingers ache
i pace the room and i speak to the mirror
i read the same story again and each time the pages end
the story doesn't change and the
words have not re-arranged
i turn the music loud and it fills every corner of my brain
my sleepless night, we meet again
lay on the floor and think too hard and contemplate reaching for the stars
i've been here before and my footsteps look like paint seeping into the floor
drag my fingers through my hair and at the wall i will stare
bring my hand to my arm and pinch till i bleed and maybe it will put me to sleep
morning brings chances that i don't wanna take yet i arise and leave nothing in my wake
i don't like the day so i wait in the light till it all burns out to yet another sleepless night.
