"A piece of his tragic past happened." Brady said, slightly defensive.
"I figured that out. But am I not allowed to know at all or… like I won't force you if you want to tell me… I'm just curious."
Before Brady could speak again, Jordan stopped him. "He can know. If our plan is to work he has to know the truth about me."
"The truth?" Tommy questioned.
"But how much of it are you willing to share?"
"Everything." Brady sighed out of frustration, he knew there was no stopping Jordan when he's like this.
"When Jordan first transferred to our elementary school, it was when we were in grade three. Your brother was in that class with us. Jordan was one of the top students not only in our class but in our entire grade and even in the top ten in the whole school. Eli took interest in him."
"A whole year went by and he found out everything I liked, disliked, everything. Of course, somehow he found out that I like guys. He spent months learning dance when he found out and challenged me to a dance battle. If he won, I had to be his. Back then I was confident in my dance so I accepted the battle. How foolish of me. His determination to have me by his side proved greater than my ability to dance. After being his tutor for a while he challenged me again but this time it was a battle of how well I could teach. Since I lost the previous battle I couldn't say no to this one. But this time the stakes were higher."
"Why? What did he want this time?"
"Me." Jordan noticed the baffled face Tommy was making. "He said if he got into the top ten of the class on the exams he wanted me to be his boyfriend. We were in grade three going into grade four, and had no idea if or when we'd see each over the summer break so I agreed but only if we started dating in the start of grade four. Of course, he agreed."
"But the year they started dating, was where it went bad. Eli started telling everyone about the fact that Jordan likes guys then the whole school was talking about it for weeks. To the point they actually phoned home and asked for someone to come in. Of course Jordan hadn't told his parents yet so Natasha came in because she knows for sure."
"Who is Natasha?"
"My older sister. But it got better after that. Since the whole school knew I didn't care to hide our relationship but that was what he didn't want. He didn't want anyone to know that we were dating. Later I found out he made a bet with his friends to see if he could make me his boyfriend in a certain time limit and if he could they'd pay for his lunch for a month. So he won that challenge too. But since he couldn't admit to outsiders that we were dating, I broke up with him. Since then he started bullying me, physically, verbally, anything he could think of, really."
"Nothing's really changed since then. He still bullies J and they still don't talk. I always thought he bullies him because he was mad they broke up but he still denies the fact they ever dated even though Jordan has always had the habit of recording every auditory thing on his phone in case he needed proof of something."
"The audio files still exist too. Every time he's ever said he loves me, every time he told me he was happy we were dating, everything. I've been saving it for the day I get him back for everything he's ever done to me."
"I want in!"
"What?" Jordan and Brady asked at the same time, both perplexed at the reply.
"I want to help you get back at Eli."
"Why?"
"Because you're my boyfriend and I want to help you get rid of your ex."
"You're the best boyfriend." Jordan kissed Tommy and ran out the door.
"Hold on a sec!" Colby stopped Jordan from leaving completely.
