While Lydia was setting up the movie, Jaida gets a notification on her phone. She glances at it while pouring chips into a bowl.
"Lydia!" She calls out and puts down the chips. Lydia comes rushing into the kitchen.
"What happened?"
"Have you seen the news about GhostTown?"
"No why?" The name GhostTown got her attention.
"They're doing a fan meet at the cafe where your brother works. And rumour has it that they'll do a face reveal there." Both girls start fan girling.
"Whats taking so long?" Ashleigh comes into the kitchen.
"GhostTown is doing a meet and greet. Also there's a possibility of GhostTown doing a face reveal." Lydia replies as fast as her mouth can move.
"GhostTown? That nameless faceless writer you two are always reading?"
"That's the one! No one knows anything about who the writer behind that pen name is."
"No one knows if it's a girl or a guy."
"How mysterious!" The say at the same time.
"Its mysterious how we went from going to watch a movie to talking about a mysterious but popular web writer."
"The movie!" The girls said in sync.
"If I hadn't birthed one of you myself, I'd think you two were twins or something. You do everything together, you like the same books, the same movies and the same authors. The few differences between you are your taste in fashion and your taste in personalities."
"What do you mean taste I'm personalities?" Lydia asks Ashleigh.
"You usually like people who are extremely different from you. You're more of an extrovert but Jaida is more comfortable with like-minded people and introverted."
"That's true."
"Isn't it? I never really noticed until you pointed it out.
"So is the movie still on?"
"Yep!" Jaida quickly grabs the snacks and Ashleigh grabs some drinks out of the fridge and some cups. They all head back into the living room and press play.
The movie was about a girl who used dance to express herself in her many different feelings. She felt trapped in a place she didn't belong until she danced. And when she danced she found people who felt the same way as her so they ended up dancing together, as a crew.
"Why did Jordan want to start dancing because of this movie?"
"Maybe because he feels like he can relate to the dancers, or maybe because it looks fun. I don't actually know, but he never seriously danced until he watched this."
"Speaking of Jordan, he's coming to pick you up at 1 tomorrow so be prepared for when he comes."
"Jordan's picking you up tomorrow? We can ask him about the meet and greet when he comes!"
"It's so cool that it's happening at the cafe!"
"Mom can we go to it?"
"When is it?"
"Sunday, a week from tomorrow." Lydia replies remembering Jordan's work schedule. The pieces are finally connecting and beginning to make sense.
"I can't go. I have to work on Sunday but I can see if Natasha can bring you there."
"Really?" Jaida said in shock. She knows how much her mom doesn't like bothering Natasha.
"You mean she might come with me instead?" Lydia said excitedly."
"Yeah, or maybe Jordan will take you so you can be there longer."
"If Jordan takes us we might end up working." The girls laugh.
"Why would you end up working?" Ashleigh asks confused.
"So we don't get in the way. If Natasha brings us we'll come with a guest as guests but it we come with Jordan we would be coming with a worker. So wouldn't it be better if we become workers too?"
