However I stayed still and watched as the cooks did their thing, without realizing it I started to silently sing and Emily noticed and she started to sing with me and we just started to dance, enjoying ourselves, getting louder. Everyone in the room heard us and started to stare, prince Max followed the singing and once he made it to where all the commotion was coming from he stopped in his tracks. Emily noticed everyone staring first and she immediately stopped soon after I realized she had stopped and I too became quiet.
The prince approached us with surprise, a huge smile, and staring right at me. He said, " You sound amazing, what are your names?" My first thought was, " How do you not know, you're the one that invited us." but of course I didn't say that. I glanced at Emily who was trying to hide herself without being noticed so I spoke up and said, " My name is Angel and this is my friend Emily." Then I remembered I was eating cake and turned to Emily and asked, " Do I have anything on my face?" Emily looked at me and sayed, " No." and turned back to the prince.
The prince glanced at the plate with cake in my hand and back at me and asked, " Were you hungry?" I answered feeling a bit embarrassed, " No, one of the cooks offered it to me and I didn't want to be impolite so I accepted it." Then the cook asked from behind me, " Are you finished ma'am?" I took one last bite and handed the empty plate to her and said, " Yeah and my name is Angel, what's your's?" The cook took the plate and smiled from ear to ear and said, " My name is Megan." I gave her a friendly smile and said, " It's nice to meet you Megan."
I turned around and the prince said, " You have a beautiful dress, where did you get it?" I replied appreciatively, " My mother made it for me just for this event." Then I heard one of the participants whisper, " Beggar." I turned my head to Abigail Miller, a popular redhead with beautiful green eyes with silky smooth skin, who has tormented me since the 2nd grade for being poor. I wanted to yell, " Uncultured swine!" but I held my tongue because that would be impolite and I didn't want to be kicked out on my first day. She snickered and whispered in her friend's ear while staring at me, I took a deep breath and looked away. I think the prince was impressed with how composed I was at her unnecessary comment.
