Chapter 1 - Who Am I? (1)

"For those who can't fit in this world, always remember, you're who you are, and that's not changable. You're natural. You're better. If you change yourself to fit in this hopeless system, you'll be tossing away your righful opportunity to overcome those who don't deserve to have it. Those who aren't different enough to to be better than the system itself."

"That's a great saying my lord." Said a woman being in awe.

Silence echoed through the dark palace, until a mysterious being sitting on a throne started to speak again.

"What is the meaning of life, Solus?"

"I don't know, my lord."

"Is to write your own story. Living beings were given the power to change every little aspect of the world, to walk on their own path, to make their own decisions. Now, why do you think some of those beings live their entire lives without changing basically anything?"

"I don't know, my lord."

"Because they walk in the path of others. They all have a pattern, that being to fit in everyone's expetations, to live in the default way that was already set for them, and if they change even a little bit, everyone around will look at them with bad eyes. Do you want to know why?" He then continued.

"Because the ones who came before made it that way. If who's different feel ashamed to be themselves, they will never walk on their own path, thus, they will never be able change any aspect of the world, making those who figured it out before change the world at their own will."

The mysterious being got up from his throne. He walked towards the woman, who gave him a small stone, and a jar filled with little spikes. He then threw the stone to the ground and started to insert an energy that came out of his fingers.

The stone lit up and started forming images of Earth. All the beauties that this planet has to offer appeared at the screen and then the ugliest and disgusting places as well started to appear, until all of them migrated into one.

The man then opened up the jar, and the spikes inside started to levitate towards the screen at an incredible speed, until all the locations started to shine a royal yellow color.

"Now, what could happen if all the different beings were together in a completely different world?"

The jar was now empty. Just like that, the screen disappeared.

Everything was dark again.

2020, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Gabriel, a 13 year old kid, that live in the slums. His parents dissapeared when he was 3 years old, he has faint memories of his mother, but that's it. He lives in the streets, while sometimes, a kind soul would let him sleep in their house.

He had some jobs that kept alive, they wouldn't pay even close to well, though. While he was an innocent child – 13 – he already saw every tragedy in front of him, every traumatic and disgusting experience, so his survival instincts were sharp even at that age, saving him from various types of scams and dangers that could make him even lose his life.

The slums had all types of people, including honest families, kind people, as well criminals. Drug dealers were common to see, and the only security around were some random people walking with an ak-47 though streets. They would be spotted from the lowest to the highest point of the place, as it was hill-like, they would patrol the area from all spots, and just like that, the police couldn't go in.

Walking towards an alley Gabriel found himself in front of a house that he well knew of. The house was dirty, as if it hadn't have any cleansing in a while, giving an abandoned feeling.

Entering the house, one would have the sigh of a place with piled crates and papers, as well some guns sitting at a table.

"Ha! There you are!" A bald fat man said while looking at the boy, that stopped at the door.

"Hurry, come in."

Gabriel hesitantly entered.

"Today you will be sure to deliver this precious thing here." The man said while picking up the gun and pointing towards the boy's face.

Gabriel's body shivered completely. Yes, he has seen a lot of murderers in front of him, but he still couldn't get used to it, and as a child, you would have to be a sociopath to at least don't gulp at this moment.

"Don't be scared, it's not even loaded." The man said while pulling the trigger.

A "Tch" sound could be heard, but as the man said, there wasn't any bullet.

Gabriel flinched, but then picked up the gun and tried to hide it the best way possible, he ended up leaving in his pocket, as he used baggy pants, his pockets were larger than normal, so the .38 fit perfectaly.

"Your payment will be tomorrow, that's when you will be in charge of delivering the bullets of this weapon right there."

"What?! You can't do that, you know i don't have any money to eat s-"

"Ease up little man, there's a place called 'Oxford Constructions' and obviously, it isn't a construction site. There they will give you food."

Thinking of the possibility of eating for free, Gabriel calmed himself a bit. He didn't think the man in front of him would be so warm-hearted.

"Okay. I will be going, then."

"Whatever." The baldy said waving his hands.

Gabriel left the house with the feeling of a gun in his pocket.

"Calm down Gabriel, nothing can go wrong." He thought to himself.

He then walked towards the same warehouse he would walk every time.

This was Gabriel's current job, it consisted in delivering a certain product to a warehouse, where buyers would be waiting for him. Today's deliver was a gun, so he was pretty afraid about how the buyer would look like.

The streets were full of people, so he was afraid some would see his bulge – the gun –

"That's the place." He said while looking at a big warehouse that looked very lively, with some people moving crates and screaming at each other.

"Hello, boy looking for something?" A man with uniform got closer to him asked.

Different people would sometimes approach him, as new faces were seen working here almost everyday.

"Oh, hi. I'm looking for Gordon."

As he said that, the man put a serious face.

"Come with me." The man said while leaving the place and going deep in the warehouse.

Gordon was a black and well built guy, as well as the mananger of this place. Gabriel didn't know why he was feared by many workers, as he always was treated well by him.

They got into a room, one that Gabriel was already used to. The worker stayed behind the closed door.

"Oh, hello there!" Gordon said while turning whatever paper he was writing on.

"Hello. I came with a product."

"Oh, right! Mr's. Paulo is already waiting for you inside the room." There was 3 different doors, but Gordon said without even mentioning wich room was, as he knew Gabriel was already used to this job.

Gabriel just walked straight into the room. As he didn't grow up with a family, he lacked manners, but Gordon was already used to this, and liked straight foward people.

Entering the room, he could see a man that looked to be in his mid 50's sitting in a chair, looking at his direction.

"Oh, look what we have here." The man said while looking at him.

Gabriel innocently thought that the man was looking at the gun, and he proceed to put the gun in the table in front of him.

When he did that, he could see that the man was looking directly at his eyes. Shivers ran down his spine and Gabriel immediately felt disgusted.

As Gabriel lived in the streets, he would encounter a lot of bad intentioned people, and he knew well of that. He could be innocent in some ways, but he always managed to get out of those situations and learn with it, so his survival instincts were sharp and precise.

And at this moment, it was telling him that this man was dangerous.

The man put his hand all around Gabriel's waist, trying to pull him close, but Gabriel twined his legs in the second chair, making him stuck between the table.

"Get out." He said while aiming the gun at the man's head.

"Hahaha! We both know that this gun isn't loaded."

"Wanna try your luck?" Gabriel said that with the eyes of a beast.

"The same applies to you." The man said while pointing a gun of his own at Gabriel's head.

"If it was loaded, you would have already shot. Am i right?" Now Gabriel was really trembling.

He put all he's faith into that gun, he really wish that the reality could change based on one's will, pitty little one. He though that if he wished enough, he could really see his parents again. That's why he always gave his all to even accomplish simple goals, hoped to make whoever would look for him some day, look at him proud. Now, he was willing to kill the guy in front of him. To explode this face that made him disgusted.

'Please!' He said to himself while staring deep in the man's eyes. This time it had to work. He spent all his life hoping with all his willpower that everythinsg was going to be fine soon, but it never happened. He wish he could finnally find his parents, or at least a family, that would treat him with love and affection, but it never happened. He had no one. Everyone tossed him aside, even his own parents did.

Tears came out of his eyes, with rage and sadness inside him. All the feelings that he supressed throughout his life was just the root of something much bigger, a whole tree that was rapidly growing towards his brain, while removing every part of the childish hope that he had. The only thing that was moving him on was close to vanish.

All the child dreams of him was in this trigger, if he pull this and nothing comes out... His hope will dissapear completely.

As he put strengh in his fingers, a 'Tch' sound was heard.
