"She was having a seizure; call the ambulance, Jack!" Angela turned Nicole on her side,
Angela had tried to keep her calm, and Ambulance arrived after her seizure, which lasted for fifteen seconds.
"The paramedic insisted on taking her to the hospital for a checkup. Angela agreed. Nicole looked around; the room was white, and the light was bright.
The doctor came out with a file, lowering his glasses. He is in his sixties, well-built for his age, tanned, and has short hair. He looked up at Angela, "I am doctor Marvins." He reached out his hand and shook Angela's and Jack's hands. "It's Good that you have brought her in for a checkup. She has absence seizures, sudden stopping movements, and the appearance of daydreaming. Have you noticed any of these symptoms?"
"Yeah, we have, but we never realized it's this serious."
"Can you tell me any occurrence in her life that might have caused this?"
"Yes, doctor," Angela explained what happened with Nicole.
"Is she being treated?"
"Yes, she is. We are waiting on the results."
"For the time being, I would prescribe her Diazepam."
Nicole was quiet through the whole trip back. Jack has started to worry about Nicole ever being average again.
When arriving at the house, Angela saw the front door open. "Someone broke into our house 'cause I haven't left the front door open. I am sure I locked it.
"You wait here with Nicole. I will go and check it out."
"Be careful, Jack."
Jack climbed out and placed his right hand behind his leather Jacket, firmly gripping the gun he had in the back of his jeans. He padded into the house, hearing footsteps upstairs. He removed his shoes and went quietly up the stairs. Someone was shining a torch by the desk where he kept his paperwork. Jack walked silently up to him and gripped his arm around the person's neck, "you have thirty seconds to tell me who you are and what is it that you are looking for?"
The person tapped on Jack's arm. He was choking and couldn't speak. Jack loosened his grip abit; this person whore a mask; Jack removed the mask and saw it was Marcus, " what the hell, man."
Jack let him go, "what are you looking for?"
Marcus leaned down, placing his hand on his knees, catching up with his breath.
"Man, thats a solid grip you have there. You snap someone's neck with that grip." While talking, Marcus was thinking of an excuse.
"Sorry, the lights of the house were off. Where are the switches? I am here hoping to find my sister's file to see what has happened. I mean, it is my sister, and I only have her best interest at heart."
"What makes you think you will find anything here if the guys are out there."
"Your sister won't tell me where it is, and I just want to catch these assholes who had done this to her."
"I understand you feel angry and want to get even, but the only way we will bring down the people who have done this is if we are smart about it."
"Jack, are you okay?"
"Yes, I am fine, thank you. Everything is fine; you can come in; it's Marcus."
"How did he get in?"
"I gave him the spare key to check up on his sister."
"Marcus, hello. Are you staying?"
"No, I just came to pick up her clothes and take them to the laundry."
"Thats nice of you."
Jack gave Marcus the spare key, "try not to pick the lock again."
"Sorry about that. Try not to tell them I came here to get a map."
"Sure," Marcus headed downstairs as Jack walked over to the laptop and opened the screen. -he clicked play-
Camera two on the angle to te desk, played with audio, "dammit, what is it you are hiding, Jack? I know there has to be some proof of who you are."
He also noticed that Marcus had removed a minor black key from the jewelry box, which would end the circle. Marcus has no clue what key he has in his hand earlier, but sooner or later, he will figure it out.
Jack ran down the stairs before Marcus left, "Hey Marcus, that small key I borrowed you yesterday. Do you still have it?"
Marcus looked at him, "which key?" Jack looked down at his right pocket, the black string hanging out.
"Oh, that one. Sorry, with all these keys, I'm starting to feel like a janitor."
Angela smiled and nodded. Marcus then realized his sister was in a wheelchair, "What happened to her?"
"She had a seizure in the name of absence seizure, but she will be fine, don't worry too much about it; we will take good care of her."
Marcus sat on his knees, holding his sister's hand, "you will be okay."
Nicole sat there staring at the roof, unaware of her surroundings.
"Can she hear me?"
"She can. She is just confused."
Jack called Angela aside, "her being like this, is it a life for her? I don't mean to be offensive, and I love his sister, but can we help her?"
"Her days are on and off. It's hard to tell. Only time will tell; we just need to be here for her and try our best to erase what happened this year to her."
Marcus took a deep breath and kissed his sister, "I will see you later."
Marcus left the house. He drove down the street, and at the stop sign, a car was speeding by. The license plate looked familiar. As he was about to drive over the stop sign, he saw four lights appearing out of nowhere. It was a truck speeding; he never had enough time to accelerate. The next moment there was a loud shooter, glass flying all over. The car Marcus had been driving had been hit, and it was so severe that it was on the opposite side of the other traffic light.
"Did I just imagine myself, or was there a loud banging sound?"
"Not your imagination; that accident must be just down the road. Whoever got in the ancient is no longer alive with the sound of that impact."
The truck driver started to panic that the impact of that accident killed the people in the car, and he was not sticking to the speed limit. He could face some tough jail time. He drove off as Marcus crawled out of the car that had started to catch flame; blood was running down his face as he crawled. He scraped his bare hands onto the then sharp glass; as he crawled out, he screamed in pain. The car was burning, Marcus tried standing up, but his legs were broken as he dragged them along the hard gravel; crawling as far away from the car as he could, he looked for his phone, but it wasn't in his pocket, it had to be in the car.
"Help me! Anyone out there?"
"My brother?"
"What about your brother? He will be back abit later?"
Nicole shook her head and pointed down the road through the window, "What is she trying to say, Jack?"
"I don't know?" Jack walked to the fence and saw a car burning.
"It's Marcus." He took the keys, jumped in his car, and drove as fast as possible to the corner, where he stopped and left the engine on. He saw Marcus crawling; he lifted Marcus under his arms and dragged him into the car's back seat. Marcus was bleeding out, and he kept losing consciousness. Every second counted from this moment. Jack left his phone at home, drove to the closest hospital, lifted Marcus out of the car, and carried him inside. He carried Marcus to the reception, demanding the doctor as nurses rushed to get a bed and took him to the ICU. Marcus had lost complete consciousness to the severity of the accident. Jack looked down at his clothes; it was covered in blood. He realized his phone was at home, he walked over to the prepaid phone and called, used the cash he had on him, he called his sister. "Marcus was in a severe accident. They rushed him into the ICU. Whoever done this to him, they took off."
"How did Nicole know?"
"I don't know, but had it not been for her, Marcus would not have made it."
"Anyway, how is she?"
"It's hard to tell. Her sentences don't make sense. I would say she is still confused."
"This family just has terrible luck.
"Please keep me posted on Marcus's status. He is all family she has."
"I will do that, im not sure how long the surgery will take, but I will come home asap."
Jack hung up. He felt angry and hateful towards the driver who just drove off. Jack scrolls down to Reapers's name. Staring at the contact, he then pressed the green button.
