Amber woke up the next morning to a pounding on her door. Groggily, she got up and opened the door making the person pause mid-knock. Liam took one look at her and said, "These are the files that you have to have memorized by lunch today, and for God's sake, take a shower and tame that bird's nest on your head!" Scoffing he walked away. Taking a whiff of herself, Amber realized that she had a serious case of body odor. Putting the files on her duvet, she went to take a shower and complete her morning routine.
Forty minutes later Liam was starting to get impatient. Turning to Brad, Liam asked " how long does it take for a woman to get ready, breakfast will be here in five minutes and if she comes down late I'm eating without her."
Brad said " Dude, chicks take forever to get dressed, you know this man. Be patient, she'll be down." Liam opened his mouth to complain again, but was interrupted when he heard Brad exclaim " Whoa! Your assistant cleans up nice. Are you sure she isn't a model?"
"What are you talking about?" Liam asked as he turned around. As he did the rest of his words got stuck in his throat.
Amber was wearing a blue pinstriped dress that had a split mid-thigh . The dress accentuated her curves and she paired it with black Louboutin's.
As Liam openly ogled his assistant as she came down the spiral staircase, he failed to hear Brad calling for his attention. Shoving him, Liam cleared his throat and said "What do you want Brad?" " Aside from you to stop staring at Amber, help me get this breakfast cart in here." "I wasn't staring that much." Liam muttered. " Whatever man, help me get this inside. It's heavy." Brad said.
Coming down from the last stair, Amber was surprised at the amount of breakfast that was served. And it all looked so good! Taking out her phone she spent a good ten minutes snapping pictures from various angles. Starting to get fed up, Liam snapped " Can we please eat now ,or do you need to make a new album?" Clearing her throat she looked at Brad who put his hands up in surrender. Shifting from one foot to the other, she said " yeah, lets eat". After eating, Amber pulled out the files that Liam gave to her earlier and started to study them. Looking at her, Liam said " Don't you think that your slit is too high? I mean it your whole leg is exposed."
Staring at him, she said " It's supposed to show out my leg, that's what the slit is for." " Still " he continued. Amber cut him off by saying, " You cant tell me how to dress. You are not my father, brother, boyfriend or husband. So stop it please."
"So you consider me boyfriend material" Liam said cockily. "Why do you want to be my girlfriend, I know you couldn't resist me." he said. Amber rolled her eyes and said" Out of my entire sentence you only heard the word boyfriend?" Laughing she replied " I don't even consider you as a person, and as for being your girlfriend I wouldn't want to date you even if you were the last man on earth. So forget it."
The smile disappeared off Liam's face. Stifling his laughter Brad looked at Amber who was laughing muttering " Oh, he thinks I like him, I would rather date a cactus, I mean they basically have the same personality!" Not being able to hold in any longer Brad burst out laughing so hard that he fell off his chair. Receiving a death glare from Liam, he instantly sobered up and said " I'm going to get some water from the kitchen." As he turned the corner, into the kitchen Liam heard boisterous laughter once more. Standing up, he marched into the kitchen and grabbed his chuckling by the collar and got in his face " Do you really think that was funny?" he hissed. Straightening up Brad said " One, let go of my collar, I just had it ironed. Two I have never seen you get shoot down so hard before buddy. As your best friend it is my duty to laugh."
" I.." Liam started to say, but was cut off by Amber coming into the kitchen." I would like to go downstairs into the lobby" she said. " I need to finish, memorizing these lines and I think the fresh air will do me good." Sighing Liam said " You can go, but remember that you have to be in the hotel's conference room in two hours ,if you get lost I'm not looking for you."
Grabbing her bag and the files, she went to go but was stopped by Brad who asked" Hey doll? What were you about to say to Liam in the hospital before I interrupted. I have been so curious."
Amber with a smile said " I was about to say sir, your smile could light up an entire psych ward." With that she left before her boss erupted.
Going to the lobby, Amber was starstruck by the beauty of the place, potted plants in intricately designed pots stood in the foyer, the big chandelier in the middle of the ceiling and the sofas that seemed to be made of the softest cushions. The color scheme was gold and red, and this place pulled it off, the lobby looked soft ,but elegant. Remembering what she was here for Amber sat down on one of the plush sofas and began to read.
One hour later she had finished memorizing everything in the files, and as she was going over what she learnt ,a shadow loomed over her. Glancing upwards to whom she thought was her boss, she was surprised to be met with the same haunting blue eyes as yesterday. Holding out a hand for her to shake he said " I saw you come in with Adler yesterday. Are you his new mistress?"
Whatever delusions Amber had about a certain blue-eyed demon was instantly broken. Looking at him in disgust she replied " I am not his mistress, I am his assistant." Grabbing her stuff she stomped away saying " Why does everyone thine I would date that jerk? I wouldn't even introduce him as an acquaintance!"
Grabbing her hand Cole said '' I apologies, I didn't mean to offend you, it's just he has bimbos hanging off his arms all the time and brings them to these events."
"Apology accepted, also you cannot judge everyone who comes in with my boss like that. It's rude. I mean I don't like the man, but I still have to respect him. Oh, and most importantly, your still touching me. Let go."
Cole was about to apologize for holding on to her when he heard Liam's voice calling Amber.
Cole watched as the little woman picked up her files and followed her boss into the conference room.
"Things are surely going to be interesting from now on" he thought before following them into the same conference room where the company head Flavia Dragos of 'Dragos and Family' was waiting. Seeing Liam scowling at his assistant for what seemed to her dress, he thought " Well, well what do we have here Liam." "Are you upset about what your assistant is wearing you didn't care about what the previous one's wore before." Laughing to himself, he thought " Let the games begin!" before stepping into the room.
