Delfina questions why she feels so calm about certain things. She sort of understood why, but not completely. Her mind being in a state of shock and shielding her emotions about certain things wasn't something she could fully grasp. Dr. Melchora helped her a lot in thinking about this, her just finishing a session with her earlier that day. Of course, that was before she met with the King, and now her mind is a mess again. With a sigh, she massages her limb as Dr. Zophar explained and demonstrated to her. The guy annoyed her in the short meeting she had with him, but she could tell he was good at his job and did actually care.
She gazes out of her window, thinking about her life and what it is now. It didn't really make sense, and these crystals being used for basically everything, was straining for her. Though her mind wanted to shrug it all away and hide in a corner, she found herself thinking about it sometimes. Like as she watches snow drift and pelt the window, she questions if anything she's experiencing now is real. Perhaps it was simply a dream, and she's actually still in a coma. What if it was like the matrix and she was hooked up to a computer to forever be in a slumber, her conscious being toyed with for unknown reasons?!
"Delfina, you have guests!" Mohala announces, Nurse Jena coming in with him. She noticed that Mohala was certainly the main nurse she dealt with so far. He smiles at her while Jena wrote some notes on her chart, looking at several gadgets around her.
"Who's here now?" Delfina asks as she makes herself a bit more comfortable, curious as to who was there since she just finished breakfast.
Mohala grins and heads to the door, motioning for someone to come in. Who comes into the room startles Delfina a bit though, as a good looking man in chainmail wasn't what she was ready for. Her eyes must have been round and wide as she's sure her mouth is agape as she watches the man stroll in with a cowboy hat of all things perched upon his neatly cut hair. "This is the Sir Kenwyn Teague that I've mentioned, the one that will continue to be your main security detail." Mohala announces, moving to the side so Kenwyn can come forward.
"It's a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance Ms. Delfina Le Carvennec. I will be watching out for you for your time in recovery, as well as your time with the research." Kenwyn tells her calmly with an air of affable confidence that made her trust him and his abilities. "I understand you may be confused as to why you may need a bodyguard, but we have reason to expect competition to attempt to target you. There has already been a number of reporters and investigators trying to obtain your information and find a way to speak with you, as well as pry into your personal matters. I assure you that myself and my team have been, and will continue to, handle these issues and circumstances."
Delfina blinks at them in further bewilderment, her mind slowly trying to piece the information together. "But...what do they want with me?" She finally asks in utter confusion.
The men share a look as Jena excuses herself and leaves the room. "Some of that we'll have to explain later, but the reporters are mostly interested in one of the crash victims that was in the accident with you. With none of you giving a statement, they are eager to grasps onto any details they can get." Kenwyn answers, studying her to gage her reactions to things. "Besides that, the fact that you've been elected to take such an important role in the Keskkula's research some of their competitors in the field will want to get info from you. Well, that and you've just became another way to get to them."
"I don't get why that'd make me important to them though?" Delfina questions as she ponders this information. Such a powerful family shouldn't rely on her so much, so what was she missing? She unconsciously bites her lip as she thinks, missing the men sharing another look.
"Delfina, I think that's enough for today. We can't tell all of the details ourselves as we don't have all of the answers. Please feel free to ask the Keskkulas when you have a chance though." Mohala tells her with a gentle smile. Their conversation was cut short with a knock on the door. Nurse Jena returns with Dr. Vitor, them carrying a box as they do so. "Dr. Vitor is here to set you up with the first steps to your temporary prosthetic, if you don't mind."
Delfina gives him a halfhearted glare at their conversation being disrupted. She rolls her eyes with a huff before turning to the doctor. "It'll be nice to be able to stand on my own again." She admits with a small smile for him.
"That's the hope, but honestly it won't be an instant improvement. However, Dr. Zophar should be assisting you with becoming more comfortable and used to manipulating it." Dr.Vitor tells her, giving her a genuine smile in return as he places the box beside her on the bed. He opens it to reveal a few sleeves that seemed to vary in size, color and material. "Shall we check the fit and give your first test?" Vitor asks as he looks at her, patiently awaiting a reply as she mulls it over.
"I guess there's no time like the present…" Delfina lets out a breath, feeling a mixture of apprehension, resolve and excitement.
"Good choice." Vitor replies with a small smile, causing his eyes to glint a bit as the nurses check her limb. They showed her how to rewrap it correctly, then removed her shrinker before they moved so that Vitor can take over again. "Ok, so this is how we put this guy on." He starts explaining, taking his time to go slow and show her how to make sure no air was trapped in the sleeve as he rolls it over her limb.. "Alright, now it's your turn to do what I just showed you." He states as he undoes everything and waits for her to get it ready herself, eyeing her movements closely as she does so.
"I think you did it like this…" She mutters, silently cursing him in her mind as she went. She sits back when she feels like she did it right, looking at him to see a response.
"Not bad for your first try, but there's some air trapped here so you need to do it again." Vitor comments after inspecting her work. Seeing her annoyance, he arches a brow at her. "It's important to find which sleeve you prefer, but also to make sure that you learn to put them on without air as soon as possible. Any air trapped within the sleeve will cause blisters when you have your prosthetic." He explains clearly as he takes out a few more sleeves. He started with a basic one, but seeing as that doesn't always work for everyone, he wanted to make sure she had the one most comfortable for her. "Your limb will change over this first year, so we'll be working together to ensure your most comfortable options are explored."
Delfina could understand why he was being so studious, though it was a bit unsettling to be watched so closely by the five in the room as she attempted a few times before getting it right with what's considered the basic sleeve. "Finally!" She exclaims with relief when he approved her attempt, causing him to smirk while the nurses chuckled. "Are we done?" She asked hopeful as she honestly didn't want to spend more time on this at the moment.
"We can try the other ones in a couple of days when we take decent measurements again. Please take off your sleeve and put back on your shrinker and I'll be impressed enough to leave." Ivor says easily after contemplating for a moment.
"Deal!" Delfina states as she does so, trying not to rush as she went. "All done." She proudly says after, grinning at the group.
"Good job Ms. Le Carvennec, I believe that is satisfactory for the moment." Ivor returns her smile before taking the box and heading to the door. "Please do spend some time wearing the sleeve at least ten minutes a day though." He comments, then turns to face her before leaving. Have a nice day Ms. Le Carvennec."
"You too Dr. Ivor!" Delfina replies as she stares at the sleeve on her bedside table, now getting that it would be a bit of a practice one for now. "So, what now?" She asks slowly as she turns back to Mohala and Kenwyn.
"Now, you can do as you'd like." Mohala replies with a laugh as she gives him a surprised look. "The other wreck victims will like to meet you after lunch."
"Ok, so I have a couple of hours to myself then?" Delfina asks the two men, seeing their nods in reply. "Ok, how would I go about gaining some bonbons and a good book?" She questions with a grin, batting her lashes some for the heck of it.
"I'll get to work on that now for you." Mohala replies, chuckling as she claps her hands excitedly. "Try not to get too worked up though." He warns on his way out of the room.
"Ugh, I feel like I've been sleeping for too much here lately though." Delfina mutters, honestly looking forward to getting her hands on a new book.
"It'll be a good change I imagine." Kenwyn comments as he takes a seat and scrolls through a glinting tablet device with a few crystals embedded into it. Honestly, she was curious how they worked, but still didn't want to ask.
"Yeah, it'll be something to do between visits." She states as she gets comfortable on her bed again. She eyes their version of a tv, it being rather similar to what she's used to except it had a weird glow to it and, of course, the crystals. The people on it were dressed in the same way as everyone else, still a bizarre thing to her. She ponders this absently as she waits for her book.

Delfina makes sure she's decent, waking from a nap and having lunch was one thing but now it was time to meet her fellow survivors. She didn't know why she felt a bit anxious about it, but she wasn't sure what to expect either. Before she could stress too much though, Mohala comes back with them in tow.
"Hey Delfina, this is Kaphiri Seif-" Mohala motions to a man in scribe wear. "And this was your driver, Vahid Nazeri." He then motions to the other man that is dressed in a fitted tunic and cloth pants. Both men smiled and waved from their wheelchairs, but neither seemed to be missing a limb. She was glad, but a pang of something dark flashed in her at the same time.
"Hello Ms. Le Carvennec, I'm so glad to see you awake and alive." Kaphiri states as he looks her over, a slight relief flushing over him.
"Yes, it's a huge relief." Vahid agrees as he too looks her over. "I wish to give my deepest apologies to you about what happened." He continues, looking haunted.
"As do I, I wished I was able to alert everyone sooner…" Kaphiri adds, looking upset.
Delfina looks between the men, feeling they were being genuine and very apologetic. "What exactly happened that night?" She asks quietly, feeling like she may be finally close to getting an answer to one of her many questions. Her question though seems to drain them.
"It was my fault, my brakes just… snapped…" Kaphiri replies quietly, remorse obvious on his face and demeanor. "I didn't realize in time to alert anyone, I'm so sorry."
Vahid leans over and pats his shoulder. "It wasn't your fault, these things happen unfortunately. We're all alive, that's the important thing." He says comfortingly to the room at large. He then turns to Delfina with sorrowful eyes. "I wasn't paying enough attention either, not close enough. The light had changed and I moved with traffic, but I should have looked again."
Delfina tilts her head at the men, a bit concerned that they were so upset. "It's ok, honestly it's an accident so a freak situation with no one to blame. The main thing to focus on is our health right now, right?" She waits to get wavering smiles and nods of agreement. "Good, I hope you guys aren't too badly injured."
"I have a broken leg and some broken ribs, with a cracked skull that they're keeping an eye on." Kaphiri replies with a weak chuckle.
"Broken ribs, punctured lung, and a broken pelvis for me." Vahid remits with a slight shrug. "Nowhere as bad as your injuries, though I would've prefered we switched in that department."
"Why's that?" Delfina asks, feeling rather surprised by that statement.
"For me, I feel like I'm the one at fault, so it really should have been I that got so hurt." Kaphiri blurts, looking ashamed and remorseful again.
"I feel the same way, if anyone should have been hurt so badly, it should have been me." Vahid adds with vehemence.
Delfina stares at them with shock. "Are you kidding? I'm fine with things like this! So, can you guys chill and stop beating yourselves up over this?!" She demands.
"Let's… just leave it at that. How has your stay been?" Kaphiri changes the topic, soon all of them are chatting about random things and relaxing.
An hour flies by, her learning that both of them are seeing therapists as well. She finds her mind drifting as they leave, but she feels happy with the prospect of meeting them again, even for a small lunch chat from time to time.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR'S!!!"
Delfina gapes at her friends as they somehow roped her doctors and nurses into apparently throwing her a surprise new year's party. She just settled in her room when they opened the doors and announced it, bringing bubbling juice and cupcakes.
"We have to make sure you get your celebration in!" Ena announces as all of them stare at her with massive grins. And honestly, who was she to break up the fun?
"HAPPY NEW YEAR'S YA WEIRDOS!"
