After ditching the stationed guards, we sat in our cars, each one having its own and made our way towards the apartment we had bought in order to do our work secretly. I smiled at the rear view window as I saw a SUV following us. The driver was the person in the black. I turned on the radio and Zayn's Vibez song blasted on the speakers. I enjoyed the music, lipsing it as I opened the roof and let my hair loose as the wind blew them back.
After driving for almost two hour we reached our destination. I stepped outside keeping my eyes trained around. The SUV had also stopped a little far from us. The person went inside the apartment complex that was beside the one we had rented. I took out my bag and my suitcase that I had kept in the car a day before. We went inside the complex and took the key from the reception and left our luggage inside, going outside to grab some breakfast. We sat in the cafe when I spotted that person sitting in the cafe across the road.
After finishing breakfast, we roamed around a bit. We had left the City of Westminster and right now, were in Camden. Camden was the centre of trade for the people of Magna. Ivy and Jeremy wanted to buy some stuff for themselves so we decided that they could shop for a while and I could wander a bit. I stopped at a Tela shop and walked inside. The bell dinged as I opened the door of the shop.
"Yes, how may I help you?" An old man asked me.
"No, thank you. I am just looking around" I smiled moving towards the dagger aisle.
I heard the bell ding again. I glanced at the mirror on the counter to see it was 'Niger'. Yes, I had named him Niger. It means black man in latin. I glanced through the shelves as he made his way towards the dagger aisle. He had his face covered.
"Why are you following me?" I questioned him, my voice low. He didn't reply. I walked outside slamming the shop door shut behind me. I walked towards an alley and screamed out loud, trying to calm my anger. I clenched my hands, trying to calm myself and squatted down. I heard footsteps. I stood up and ran out of the alley towards the complex building. I was still running when someone grabbed my wrist and turned me around, and I smashed into his body as he led me tightly, one arm behind my waist.
"Let me go" I squirmed under his hold. He had pinned my hands behind me and I thrashed around with all the force I could muster.
"It will be no use" He whispered in a raspy voice. But that didn't stop me from thrashing around. He moved forward making me step back, which resulted in me trapped between him and the car. I kept my eyes on the ground, being stubborn. His cold hands touched my face as he wiped the tears off my face. More tears seeped through my eyes, as I remembered Hayden but somehow, I didn't flinch on his touch. It felt familiar. I gave up, my head on his shoulder as I whimpered. We stood there like this until we heard the owner of the car asking us to move. He let go of me and I ran inside the complex building, slamming the door shut behind me and slouching down against it, my sobs now filling the silence of the room.
My phone buzzed and I picked it up.
"Where are you?" Ivy asked me worriedly.
"I am at the apartment," I replied, trying my best not to normalize my tune.
"Oh, Ok, we will bring something for lunch, Bye" She dropped the phone call. I let the phone slide from my hand, and it landed in my lap. I pulled myself up, discarding my coat and shoes in the coat closet and moved inside towards the kitchen to wash my face.
"Pizza for lunch" I texted Ivy before grabbing a bunch of disposable plates and cups and placed them on the coffee table. I picked up the TV remote and logged into my netflix account. I clicked on Oceans 8 and placed my feet on the table. I was fifteen minutes in the movie when the apartment bell dinged. I checked the camera to see it was Ivy and Jeremy. They came inside with boxes of Pizza.
First bite into the pizza, and I was in heaven. After eating the whole large Pizza by myself, I felt a lot better.
"So, what are we going to do first?" Ivy asked.
"I will go to Selena and find out a way to contact the spirits. And then god knows what will happen after that" I drank the last sip of my drink before throwing it in the trash. I stood up and made my way towards my room.
"We will leave at ten to go to her house" I called out loud, before shutting the door. I flopped down on my bed, thinking of the prior events that happened today.
'What in the world is happening these days?' I thought to myself before getting up and making a plan for tonight.
It was nearly seven thirty when we decided to leave. Selena's house was a little far away, so we had to leave early. I noticed that Niger was following us. I placed my feet on the accelerator and the car rushed forward, my moments smooth. I guess it was time to show off one of my many skills. I was a brilliant race car driver, the best one in NYC because I took part in almost every race that had ever happened since I was fifteen. I know it is against the law, but one has to make money in order to survive in this expensive world. I glided between the streets of Camden, the speed of my car increasing after every moment. He was one hard to escape. I opened google maps on my phone and traced my route towards Selena's house, trying to find shortcuts so I could lose him.
I slowed down and so did he. I fastened my speed and so did he. So, I decided to play the game. I glanced at the map and noticed a short cut, smiling I slowed the car down and then speeded up as soon as I neared the turn, I speeded up and drifted, turning on my left. His speed was fast so he couldn't turn and went forward on the straight road. I chuckled and accelerated, moving towards Selena's house. Jeremy and Ivy were sitting on the backseat, currently sleeping.
'Dirt car races?' A message appeared on my phone.
'Bullseye' I replied back, smirking at the screen.
Shutting my phone off, I smiled and gave all my attention to my driving. After driving for at least forty five minutes we reached her house. I got out, waking Ivy and Jeremy in the process, my eyes scanning the area, finally spotting the car round the bend of the street.
I turned on my phone and typed a message.
'Afraid of the light?' I looked up from the phone, trying to catch a shadow, when I saw a shadow lingering near the lamp post.
'No, just waiting for the right time' The reply came accompanied by another message.
'You okay?' I just stared at the phone, scoffing before turning the power off and entering the house along with Ivy and Jeremy who were now wide awake. Selena was standing in the hallway.
"We have to go somewhere else" She told us and we came out of the house.
"Text me the location" I got my phone out, now annoyed by the amount of time I had to spend in order to start and shut it. I opened Selena's messages to trace the location.
"Seriously, out of the whole damn England we have to go here!" I exclaimed loudly.
