Drake is an adventurer. He wanted to welcome the new years first sun rise in a unique way. So here he is on his last step towards the peak of Mount Everest !!
And there it is. The beautiful and mesmerizing view of the sun rising from the horizon casting a rosy hue across the snow covered Himalayan mountain range.
" yay!whoa whooo HAPPY NEW YEAARRRRR !!!" drake shouted and laughed with his hands around his mouth.
Just a few minutes back drake felt his foot aching as if it was threatening to burst out of his shoes ,the muscles all over his body were trembling from the immense strain while his head felt so dizzy that he felt like vomiting his brains out though all he could get out was a burp. But all of that vanished like a fart in the wind at this moment and is replaced with a wild joy and satisfaction.
As he is basking in the warmth of the sun memories of his life flashed in his head.
Drakes parents died in a plane crash when he was five years old. Since then he felt emotionally detached to the people around him. His father was a billionaire. So once drake turned sixteen he inherited his parents fortune in its entirety. Since then drake started making adventure trips to various places in the world and started enjoying his life. Today is one such memorable feet in his life.. or so he thought until...
Suddenly drake heard something, as he slowly looked up his eyes opened wide in disbelief and his whole body turned stiff. He could see hundreds of huge meteors falling from the sky as a gigantic silver colored spaceship kept hovering high in the sky. Suddenly the space ship warped out of existence in a fraction of a second and disappeared out of his view.
The expression in his eyes slowly changed from disbelief to fear and panic and then to utter despair and helplessness.
" For gods sake I am still a virgin....!!!" that was his last thought before he took his last breath along with the billions of other lives on the planet.

After what felt like a hundred years of oblivion, suddenly drake was blinded form the surrounding light. As he squinted his eyes and took in the surroundings he found himself in a familiar place, his aunt's house which he used to live after his parents deaths.
After a near half an hour of recollection and contemplation drake came to a conclusion that he was restored back in time to when he was a ten years old kid but with all his previous memories intact.
As he kept thinking about what happened he slowly realized that he had no way to make others believe about the future calamity.
Knowing that an apocalypse is arriving in mere twelve years drake steeled his resolve to put all his focus and energies on how to escape from this calamity.
And so drake racked his brain for a few days but the only way out from this that he could think of is to... escape from the Earth.
Before the accident had occurred drake would have though that his "escaping Earth" plan is but a fools thought but not anymore not after he got gobsmacked by that gigantic spaceship.
There must be a whole new universe outside of earth, maybe it is a difficult chance considering all the space research for decades yielding no results on finding a human survivable planet. But still drake decided to give a try, especially with recent break through into a topic called cryogenic sleep he might have a chance.
And so drake immediately made a plan for the following ten or so years and started working hard.
With the help of his previous life's knowledge it didn't take much effort from drake to complete a degree in astronomy and astrophysics with top grades and land in a job as a space scientist in a private space research organization.
Soon he also become a prime investor for the organization. Later using the advantage of his position in the organization drake took the liberty to begin a project called "Manned planetary exploration in cryogenic sleep", the project objective being sending a manned capsule to faraway distance by putting the subject into deep sleep .With the estimated average time limit for subjects death in cryogenic sleep state being five hundred years, The time before which the capsule returns to earth.
For obvious reasons drake " bravely " volunteered himself for this project. Yes, this is his plan to "escape earth". Something he was planning since he got a second chance at life.
In six months he would be taking off into the endless cosmos. Though he had no idea about what would happen, he at least had some hope. The capsule is equipped with some highly advanced cutting edge technology to find a planet with water and human survivable atmosphere. Once it identifies a suitable planet it will land there and performs a thorough research before walking up the astronaut sleeping in it.
After planning and preparations for an entire six months today is the day for the launch of the capsule into outer space. Drake felt very nervous as he was going to be put into cryogenic sleep in about five minutes and he doesn't know after how many years he would regain his consciousness.
"Are you ready ?" the medical staff member asked while making some adjustments in the setting for the EEG machine.
Drake took a deep breath and exhaled. "yes" he said.
"Okay, just relax your body" the medic said and start injecting various fluids.
After a few minutes...
"Deep sleep process initiated, subjects heart rate is slowing down steadily, subjects body temperature 22 degree Celsius and still dropping, EEG graph is showing that brainwave activity is slowing down..."
Hearing the reports slowly drake felt like his body is losing the energy as it got difficult to even lift his finger and his eyelids felt heavy as they slowly closed and he slowly fell into the deep sleep state.
"T-minus 15 seconds 13.. 12.. 11.. 10.. 9... ignition sequence start 6.. 5.. 4.. 3.. 2.. 1.. BOOOOM !!!!"
The rocket housing drakes capsule was launched into the sky. As it accelerated and was about cross the earth's atmosphere a misty white spherical orb was condensed from the core of the earth and in a blink of an eye it passed through the capsule wall and merged into drakes body and into his heart.

In the vast empty space a spherical capsule is travelling at an uniform speed, suddenly a hundred kilometers away from the capsule the space started to collapse towards the center and surrounding space started to undergo changes as a spatial vortex is being generated. The capsule which has been peaceful for a near two thousand years !! started to rattle and all kinds of weird alarms have gone off as the capsule is being dragged towards the place where the anomaly is happening.
" Alert !! Alert!! Alert!! danger level 5 ! capsule is experiencing a 100x gravitational pull, system unable to determine course of direction. Immediate awakening of the subject is being carried out survival rate 5%.."
As a female mechanical voice kept ringing in the capsule, drake who has slept for nearly 2000 years suddenly had a fit a coughs, the nerves on his face bulged out, he opened his eyes and took hurried deep breaths, his eyes are bloodshot with red nerves all over and drake is experience a splitting headache, he is bleeding from his eyes, nose and mouth.
Suddenly a thin white colored mist surged around his heart. The white mist travelled along his nerves and reached his brain, slowly drakes condition started to stabilize.
As drake looked around everything seemed fuzzy in front of him. For over ten minutes all he could see is red colors lights shining all over. As he slowly tried to adjust his view he started to see some words as he read D... A... N... DANGER !!! he exclaimed and there is a number 5 besides it, suddenly his slow heart rate started to increase in pace rapidly until it started furiously pounding, he is still feeling numb all over, and there are all kinds of fluids being injected to him by the system..
He pressed a button with a rectangular symbol on it and the outside scene is displayed on the screen in front of him. After 10 seconds his face is completely covered in sweat and his body shivered a few times.
All he could see is a monster swallowing everything around it. After understanding the situation drake had completely given himself up for the fate. There is no way his delicate capsule could hold out in the spatial whirlpool. In fact drake has underestimated the monster, as the capsule touched the border of the whirlpool it was ripped apart into shreds in a fraction of a second.
Drakes body however did not suffer any injuries as his body emitted white mist which surrounded him like a cocoon. His body was dragged into the center of the whirlpool and vanished.
