Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

December 11, 2020, it's been months since school got back in after the pandemic. My parents found out about me being bullied at my old school so we moved. I think it's time I tell you who I am my name is Bradon Collins. I'm 16 and attend from today Morricone Academy. You heard right Morricone Academy it's a school opened by the famous Italian composer Ennio Morricone years ago but sadly he passed away.

Well, this is what my life is like on a daily basis here a Morricone Academy. It was Tuesday, August 11, 2020 school finally let back in and this year I will be a sophomore. Well, that's enough about me let's get to where we are now.

It's approximately 12:23 pm lunch period and well I'm hiding inside a janitor's closet to eat my lunch as usual when I heard loud thuds of doors flying open. I can hear the boys in the hallways laughing and playing while knocking open every door. Every wooden door slamming into the walls. The thuds got louder as footsteps started to approach the closet, I was terrified I hid behind a trash can holding my breath hoping I wouldn't be found.

The loitering boys were standing in front of the closet when suddenly their footsteps went away when one of the boys said "Where could he be, Leo will get mad if we don't find him". Then another boy shouted "CHECK EVERY ROOM ON THIS BLOCK NOW", I was shaking in fear when I heard footsteps approaching. The boys were silent when in a shaky voice someone whispered "L... Leo".

I moved back against the wall, holding my mouth to prevent them from hearing me, I was doing anything in my power to prevent catching the attention of Leo. I heard a loud thud and Leo say "FIND HIM I WANT THAT KID HERE IMMEDIATELY".

That's when I noticed that thud was one of his boys. I was scared when I heard the footsteps leaving, I started crawling out when a shadow appeared under the door. When that door opened it was him, Leo the Morricone Lion they called him.

My heart sunk when I saw him standing there in front of me. I pushed him back and hurried out the door with my belongings. I knew I had to get away and the only way to get away was to run till the bell rung.

I was terrified running for my life, all of these rich preppy kids got into this school with cash, and me well I got in for musical talent. Ever since I was 5, I took lessons learning to be a famous violinist and pianist. I always wanted to just as my grandfather and mother did.

But instead of being able to come here and accomplish my dream, I'm here getting bullied by a bunch of rich guys. Every day I arrive at school they're standing there watching me. It got so bad to the point where I have absolutely no friends. Instead of living my life here waiting for the day, my parents move or I graduate so I will never have to see these guys again.

I continued running down the hall as I noticed the bell didn't seem to want to ring. I made it into the music room, the one place where I'm able to be myself and away from those terrible rich kids. I looked at the clock to notice the bell was about to ring and I was already in the right class. I counted down every time the hand moved "10, 9, 8, 7, 6" when I started to hear steps approaching.

Leo kicked open the door and grabbed me by my hair then "5, 4, 3, 2, 1" the bell went off just in time. Kids started rushing into the classroom as he grabbed my hand and pulled me to my feet whispering in my ear, "You're safe this time little rabbit but next time I won't be late".

The teacher walked into the classroom and the class started shortly after attendance. I couldn't think of anything but Leo's words, that filled my head with anxiety and fear. After all, this was the last class of the day and in order to get to my moped, I had to get past him and his goons. But this teacher releases us two minutes before the bell rings to go home.

So, I took a deep breath, grabbed my items, and headed out the door, while walking down the corridor I heard other footsteps. I looked back to see Leo's goons following me so I started to speed up when I noticed I was on a collision course with three more of them. I started running when all of them started running as well towards me, I turned the corner and they stopped. I wondered why.

You know the saying "Don't look back while running because something bad can happen", yeah let's just say it's true in this case. Boom before I could look ahead, I was in the arms of someone and knew exactly who it was. The smell of strong cologne filled my lungs and the grip of what felt like an adult man.

I was terrified but I looked up to see the person I didn't need to at that moment, Leo. Immediately I tried to break free but couldn't, I was basically powerless against him. I watched all of the boys walk away leaving me with Leo alone, immediately I felt like crying because I knew it would only end badly for me.

I did run from him and almost got him caught but if there is anything I didn't want was to die yet. So, I squirmed until I could get his hand to let me go and I could be free. Did that happen no it didn't I was a rabbit trapped in the claws of a vicious lion, hoping someone would come to save me from him?

I didn't want to get hurt or anger Leo then he whispered in my ear in the most sinister but gentle voice.

"I finally have you my little rabbit".
