Chapter 5 - The Journey Starts

The earth changed a lot after The Great Reset happened, with one of the more noticeable changes being the fact that the seven continents became just two. While landmasses were shifted and destroyed, various environments changed with them, deserts became lush forests, while forests became deserts, mountains rose in places they were none, while on the other hand wonders like the great pyramids and Mt. Everest was no more. It was truly a completely different earth today than it was prior to The Great Reset. The two remaining large landmasses were named Akron and Leros respectively by an explorer who was the first to travel and fully explore both continents, a feat which took him over thirty years to accomplish. He was also the one who drew the first world map.

Now the country of Grayleon which is ruled by a hereditary council and the place where Leo currently lives is located on the continent Leros. It's also one of the five nations sharing Leros, and although it isn't the biggest nation, it is one of the most powerful. Boasting an estimated population of ninety million people which makes it the third-largest country on the continent. It's known for having the longest history on the continent, having a council of rules who can all date their lineage back to the days following The Great Reset. Located on the eastern coast of Leros, it is bordered directly south by the smallest country on the continent with an estimated population of sixty million people, The Kingdom of Acacia, a place known for their towering trees and colossal ships, so while they are the smallest nation on the continent, it is a nation that harbors the largest naval forces by a substantial margin. They are not a nation to be underestimated simply because of size. Now located to the northwest of Acacia and the southwest of Grayleon is the second smallest country on the continent, The Merchant Alliance Kembos. Founded by a large group of wealthy merchants from all walks of life, it is a place where you can buy anything from anywhere, for both cheap, and absolutely ludicrous prices. Home to a small population of just seventy million, Kembo's biggest selling point is the fact that they control most of the general trade on the continent, they are also the number one way to buy anything imported from the other continent Akron, which is not easy to do by any means. Above them, and directly west of Grayleon is the second-largest country on the continent, The Kingdom of Belleshire, known as the land of stone, or more specifically marble. Owning the largest marble quarry on the continent, coupled with elite architects and stonemasons, Belleshire is also known as the most aesthetically pleasing country to visit, due to their intricate work with marble, whether it be for art, or any other purpose, their work is truly a sight to behold. Boasting a population of an estimated one hundred and twenty million people, they dominate a majority of the central continent and the western shores. While each country has their own militaries that are strong in their own right, only Ironwood, the massive kingdom which rules the entire northern part of Leros, truly embodies what it means to be a militaristic nation in every facet of the word. With the Rugmore Mountain range forming a natural border from east to west across the north, Ironwood is almost impenetrable, along with having an estimated population of one hundred and sixty million people, and the largest deposits of iron on the continent, their military is both large and fully equipped down to the last recruit.

His servants initially didn't like the idea of him leaving, but eventually decided to go along with it and even help him with the process, because he apparently didn't know where he planned on going. So they all then broke it down together by looking at the most up to date map of the world they owned and going over the known information on each nation Leo could go to. After who knows how long of careful deliberation, Leo and his servants decided he would travel to Belleshire, where he would hope to become an apprentice as a stonemason and make a living for himself. With a plan set in place, the old servants gave Leo a little bit of money they had saved up, enough to take him all the way to Belleshire and hopefully last until he could get a job. This takes us to the present, in the late hours of the night when Leo was just told the assassination of the councilman was successful.

"This is the last town before I reach the border of Grayleon and Belleshire, I'm gonna miss those two, hopefully grandma Maggie doesn't kill gramps before I can make it back one day", chuckled Leo as he thought to himself out loud.

"I'll get a ride on the first carriage heading out of town in the morning, then it's about a half day's journey to the border, then I can finally begin my life, no more will I worry about Grayleon and that corrupt council. From here on out it's a new chapter, and I plan to make it a good one", with a determined look on his face Leo promised to himself make this stage in his life a good one, then he eventually closed his eyes to sleep, not knowing he was about to enter into the most turbulent period in his life to date, filled with sorrow, various ups, and many downs, things he could never dream of happening, the journey ahead is one fit enough to last generations, but without a way of knowing any of that, he went to sleep.
