Gene was looking between Anne and Lucas. It's been three days since they have this ongoing meeting and it was not enough for them to reconcile at all. The court messaged him that they need their cooperation later but so far, they are not ready to move on at all.
Gene get what Anne was feeling. The feeling of betrayal and heartache after being abandoned as a test subject was something that was unforgivable, but right now, they need to work together for the safety of the Haven and the last remaining people in Gnosis.
"Lucas, Anne, I need you both to work together one more time. The court is requesting us to go back to Gnosis for something and we need to make sure that we bring good news back to Haven. So please, cooperate," Gene said to the both of them and found them not looking at each other again.
