The faint smell of flowers was in the bride's room.
Renya sat on the chair staring at the continuously vibrating phone,
On the couch not far away from the bride sat Renya's friends who looked at her with envy filled eyes, Aoifoi got up and walked up to the bride and puffed up the white gown.
"You are so lucky, I wish you all the happiness in the world," she wished her genuinely.
"You think?" She replied emotionlessly as she stared at her reflection in the mirror,
She looked like a living doll, with her long black hair curled into a messy bun, her cheeks lightly tinted pink and her petal-like lips painted red. She looked pretty but her eyes were blank, with emptiness in them.
"Yes! Who won't be? You are marrying into the most desired household. It's every girl's dream," the other one on the couch stood up and walked closer to her.
"I never had such desires,"
Sadness could be clearly seen in her every gesture,
'Knock, knock,
"Let me check,"
Aoife walked towards the closed door,
"Sure,"
It was a servant, Aoifoi gave him a slight nod and came back.
"The groom is here, they are calling you."
Aoife who was also her bride's maid gave her the news.
"Hmm…"
With a nod the bride got up from the chair, her body swayed lifelessly. She looked exhausted. Her legs seemed reluctant to move any closer to the altar.
'Creek—
The heavy wooden door was pushed open, just a few steps into the hall She saw black boots before her, She lifted her gaze towards the person waiting to ascort her through the aisle towards the altar.
It was Grayson Scott, her stepbrother. His face was cold as an ice block and his gaze was merciless, even though he was a handsome guy he didn't have a partner because of his rotten personality.
When his gaze fell on his sister, he fixed his posture and held his hand out for her to hold it.
She stared at him for a few seconds and finally grasped his firm hand, unlike she had thought, his hands were oddly warm and soft that gave her comfort for a while, he stopped for a moment as if he had something to say, his corner of the lip twitched but decided not to say. His grasp was firm around her hand in a protective way. The door to the garden opened allowing the warm light welcomed Renya's eyes.
Tears rolled into Renya's eyes, Grayson took a step forward but Renya stood like a stoned statue.
He turned around and saw her pale face,
Renya's vision blurred and her breath shortened before all the brightness drowned into the darkness.
'Plop—'
Her grip had already loosened and she fell on the cold marble floor.
The scene made many gasps in horror, while others glared at the fainted body with a judgemental gaze.
Grayson had an odd look on his face. He looked scared, he lifted the unconscious body in his arms and stared at the pale face with anger.
"Get the car!" He shouted at the servants by the door.
......…
It had almost been an hour that Renya was taken into the Emergency room but there was no news of her, Grayson continued to get phone calls from his father, Grayson walked away from the emergency room and picked up the call.
"Where are you? Why isn't she back yet?" He angrily asked.
Grayson knitted his eyebrows in dissatisfaction and gritted his teeth.
"They are treating her, we will be back once they are done,"
Grayson suppressed his urge to scolding his father and spoke lightly.
"Bring her back as soon as she wakes up," With a dissatisfied tone he hung up.
Grayson stared at the black screen and gave out a dissatisfied breath.
He turned around and walked back towards the emergency room but he saw two nurses pushing the bed through the hallway where Renya lied unconscious.
"What happened?" Grayson stopped one of the nurses.
The nurse suddenly jumped in surprise as if she was caught doing a theft,
"That- we are shifting her to the ward," The other one replied.
"What happened to her? Why did she faint?" Grayson interrogated.
"Her blood sugar declined because she hadn't taken food for a while and she must have taken a lot of stress."
"So there is nothing to worry about?" Grayson asked.
"Yes she will be okay soon, You can take her after that,"
Grayson glanced at Renya who's complexion had normalized.
"Hmm…" His gaze stuck to her face.
