Daenerys, who did not experience Edward's true cruelty ever, would never think of what was going to happen in the next few hours, even if she did something like it in the other timeline but on a much smaller scale. As for Stannis, who was his brother for the longest time, he knew that his brother did not do that for a good reason, and he disagreed with him since they might use those slaves for more useful things.

"You will know in a few minutes." Said Edward as he signaled Mace Flip to finish the preparations. He asked Flip to build multiple alters where they could burn fifteen thousand men at the same time, and they should have already done doing that long ago.

"Yes, your grace." Said Flip before going on his way to check if everything was ready. Although Mace Flip was a kind man in nature, he was an obedient man and would do whatever Edward told him to do. The two were friends since ever.

Half an hour later, Edward took the group and descended down from the mountain after seeing the soldier that got sent by Flip. It seemed that everything was going as planned. The preparation for the sacrifice was ready, and Edward was about to achieve one of his dreams and everyone's dream as well.

Edward was like everyone in this matter. He wished he could experience the feeling that Daenerys and Jon Snow had when they rode the dragons. Not only could you fly up high in the sky, but you could watch your enemies burn alive with your dragon's breath.

During the time when Edward waited for Flip, he thought about hatching two eggs at the same time for himself. He knew that he could only bind with one dragon since he only had one body and could not ride the two simultaneously. But he believed that there was no one that could tell him no anyway. As for the reason and all this shit, fuck that. He wanted to have at least two dragons since Daenerys had three in the past. He would try to buy more dragon eggs in the future for his grandchildren, but this matter would be their problems and not his.

After walking for another fifteen minutes or so, Edward and the group could see a large alter where more than twenty thousand prisoners got tied to wooden pillars connected through robes and wood. The group still did not understand why Edward did something like that. If he wanted to kill those prisoners, he could do that easily without that much trouble. He could order the army to use the sword or spears or even bury them alive as he did in the past.

Why would Edward go this far??? What did he intend to do?? Everyone had been asking the same questions in their head since Edward had been behaving mysteriously, and they could not get what he wanted or aimed for by doing all this. If Edward did not insist on staying here, the army could have moved towards Meereen and took it already before attacking the other cities.

They could also have returned to Westeros by now and freed Ned Stark from the Lannister's hands if their father wanted that. Yeah, Everyone already knew what happened in King's Landing. Even if Edward did not tell them, Raymont would have got the news since he already established his own information network and enough resources to get this little information.

You have to know that no one in this world knew about the existence of the shadow legion except two. As you have guessed, since Edward was planning to make Raymont the next king, he allowed him to know and use part of the shadow legion. But Raymont did not stop at that and built a small organization of his own. He intended to merge it with the shadow legion after he became the king.

As for Stannis, he was the one that wanted to get back the most since he admired Ned Stark's personality and felt that they were alike. The two did not see anything but honor in their life, but Stannis would bear with Edward's behavior at least. When Stannis expressed his opinion to Edward and told him that he could return to Storm's Eye alone and try saving Ned Stark from the Lannister's bastard, Edward refused his request and told him to wait.

Edward told him that there were many more important things that they had to do before returning back. Those things were much more significant than Ned Stark's life, and he was not ready to waste this chance only to save Ned Stark from a little kid's hand. When Stannis heard those words, he doubted his hearing as he could not believe that Edward said those words since he witnessed with his own eyes how the two men were very close.

They were like brothers, and he did not expect Edward to abandon his friend like that.

Since Edward did not want to lose Stannis's trust, he told him about the danger beyond The Wall. Although Edward had explained the existence of a disaster behind the Wall to his children, he did not tell them what it exactly was since he knew that it would be hard to believe those myths. His family knew about the dead army, though.

Edward had to explain what was behind this army. Edward told them the tales about the Night King and the long night. He did not forget to explain to the group that their chances of winning were minimal since that fucking beast was unstoppable and it would be hard to kill. He explained that what they were waiting for at this moment was something that could help them a lot in their war.

Stannis could only calm down a little after hearing Edward's explanation. Although he was still quite doubtful about everything that Edward said since those myths were hard to believe, he trusted his brother. He knew that his brother would not do something without any reason. If his brother said that those beasts exist, there was a high chance that was true, and he did not want to risk the world by not believing them.

After that conversation, Stannis, who was always hard already on himself, tried to think of a solution to help them fighting those things, but he did not know anything about those creatures. And everything that he could think of, his brother must have come up to it much earlier since he knew about their existence. Stannis was still feeling uneasy, though.
