Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Shadow Legion's progress

A/N: Hey guys,

Here's today's first chapter.

I knew there had been some mistakes in the last few chapters. I am sorry for that. The problem is that The new semester had started. I don't have time to edit the chapters multiple times before uploading them, not I have the money to hire a professional editor to review them. Besides my other part-time job and the assignments, I barely had the time to write the new chapters. Of course, I would edit the previous chapters when I had time.

So, sorry for that and I knew it is just a lame excuse and I promise that I would edit them in the near future.

Thanks to everyone who supported me.

Thanks, Dream A Dream for becoming my Pàtreon.

You could read more advanced chapters on my pàtreon.

For the mass release, if we reach 50 pàtreons, I will upload 5 more chapters.

Enjoy.

----------------------------------------------

Shadow Legion operations reached the top. Edward was right to choose Robb Stone to build his shadow legion. The man was a genius at managing such an organization. He was able to grow it in Westeros and Essos. Now, It only needed time to consolidate its foundation and increase its number, and they would be able to control a large piece of the market.

The scale of the Shadow legion spread over Westeros and the free cities in Essos. Their main job in Westeros was infiltration and gathering information while Spreading some rumors in the middle. At the moment, Edward had an eye in every major house. Although he was not on the scale of Varys's little birds or Baelish from the show, Edward was sure in a few years he would have an eye and an ear in every house in Westeros. He even had some eyes in Casterly Rock and Lannisport. Tywin would not be able to do anything about them.

Varys and Baelish did not participate in the information gathering competition yet. As Varys just started serving the madking, this year. He still had a long way to go. As for Baelish, he was still in Riverland.

Edward concentrated on infiltrating Tywin's lands because of Tywin's previous tricks. If Edward could not prevent Tywin's spies, then he would get in Tywin's main base. He would be able to get all the information he wanted about the Lannister's movements. Since Tywin was not there and only appointed his brother as a Castellon, It was easy for Edward to do it. Edward wanted to have many eyes and ears in Casterly Rock by the time Tywin resigned his position as the Hand of the king.

That was some of the shadow legion's operations in Westeros. As for Essos, Robb was able to change the organization's nature and build other branches in Lys, Tyrosh, and Myr. It was really amazing to do all that in just one year. That was why Robb's rank in Edward's eyes was on the same level as the other commanders.

Robb was able to change the shadow legion to Sellswords in Essos. Their first job was to protect Lys. The magisters of Lys did not resist hiring them after some of their operations in Myr.

The shadow legion was building its fame in the disputed land at the moment. They would receive jobs from the three cities of Lys, Tyroth, and Myr.

Edward was impressed by Robb Stone's ability. He did not resist giving the man some advice. Edward wanted Robb to consolidate his foundation in the disputed land before shifting some operations to the Slaver's bay. After that, he wanted Robb to have a hand in Qarth, at which he could find some information about Edward's task. And if their organization could reach the top in Qarth, Edward might have some hope to control the city in the future.

As for the military, Edward did not increase its number. He did not want to show anyone that he was preparing for war. Edward had another plan. At the moment, He was building two castles, and he would appoint two of his commanders as the lords. And since every house had men under them, Edward would allow them to recruit two thousand and five hundred men, each. By the time of the Rebellion, he would have fifty thousand directly under House Baratheon. Another Ten thousand under his four commanders when Edward finished the two castle and another two in the next three years. With the other houses and the increase in population, He would have the ability to gather around a hundred thousand men without the fleet and marines.

The location of the first castle was east of the Dornish Marches and to the northeast of Ashford. The castle's name is Summoning Hall. It would be the Spearhead to attack the reach.

The location of the second castle was on the hills between Felwood and Grandview. The castle's name is Helltown. It would work with Tribe's cave and Storm's End in the south to suppress the three Houses of Connington, Grandison, and Fell.

The two castles should operate by the following year. Edward would start building the next two castles by then.

The population of Stormsland saw some increase this year, although not to the degree that Edward hoped. He did not know if this also a work of Tywin or another great lord, but he decided to add it as a must-do-mission of the following year.

Although the population was not to his hopes, he saw some improvement with the female warriors, at least. Although some people still looked down upon them, some persisted and could get a position in his or the other lords' army.

Edward was now in Starfall. After long persuasion from Cassana, Edward finally set on the road to find a wife who would be the future lady of Storm's End.

It was not only because of his mother's persuasion. Edward thought that it was finally the time to marry and have children. He found his life empty in the previous year. Although Edward had much fun with Jaesella when he visited the Eyrie, he did not feel anything when he was with her.

Edward only thought of satisfying his manly instincts and desires. That was why he felt lonely when he was doing his work as the lord of Stormsland.

Edward knew that he was missing something. And after some thoughts and his mother's persuasion, he figured that he had no love in his life. Except for his mother's love, Edward did not think of any female unless he wanted to have sex.

Edward only saw his goal in front of him. Anything else was just a nuisance, but after ruling Stormsland for the whole year, he had finally figured another reason to live.

After finally figuring the problem, Edward thought of whom he could approach. And who among all the females would suit him better, and he would still stand to gain. Yeah, Edward looked at it from the emotional and profit's views. No one would change his personality in minutes. He had already worked hard to think of marriage. This change was already acceptable.
