"Your Grace, I had offered you multiple times to marry Prince Rhaegar and my daughter, Cersei, but you always refused. So why did you send Steffon on such a mission?" Asked Tywin with anger beneath his teeth.
Tywin was gritting his teeth, and he was so angry that he wanted to stand and stab Aerys with his sword million times in his heart.
"How can I marry my son to a servant's daughter? My son can only marry from the noble Valerian bloodline." Said Aerys, angering Tywin more in the process.
Tywin was so angry at this moment. He swore in his heart to end everyone from the Targaryen House and that he would not leave a single person alive. Tywin hated that filthy bloodline and would not allow it to live.
"Am I not having an opinion in this matter?" Asked Rhaegar in a somewhat angry voice.
What the fuck? He did not want to marry like that. He had always read about the prince who was promised. If he was not that prince, his son had to be the one. The song of ice and fire was a prophy that occupied his mind. He always aimed to achieve the prophecy, and now his father was fucking everything up.
"Everything had already decided." Said Aerys with mockery in his eyes.
Like hell would he let his son replace him on the Iron Throne with Tywin's help.
Rhaegar, hearing his father's words, was so furious. Not a man's one though a sissy furiousness. He left the room at once as he did not want to hear more of his father's words.
After Rhaegar left the room, Tywin stared at the king with anger in his eyes. He was preparing for something big.
"I want to resign my post as the Hand-of-the-King." Said Tywin with a calm voice.
He had enough with this family. Why would he always work for such a fucken madman? He would better develop Castley Rock than stay in this place and serve that fucker.
"I refuse. You would have to continue your work." Said Aerys as he stood up and left the room.
Not that he wanted Tywin as his hand or something. It was just that he had just sent Steffon to Volantis, and he had to wait for Steffon's return before dismissing Tywin.
Tywin did not stay long in the room after the king left. On his way outside, he swore again in his heart to end this dynasty. He would let them know that The Lannister always paid their debt.
When Rhaegar returned to his room, he was so angry at his father for deciding such an important decision without returning to him first. All he could at the moment was watch as his father decided the way he lived his life.
He was really an idiot, as Edward always thought of him. If he was a king material, he should instigate a rebellion against his father and take the throne for himself. At that time, Rhaegar would find many that stood beside him. But No, he was the good boy that always obeyed his father.
After staying in his room for a half-hour, Rhaegar tried to rest to forget what his father had done. At that time, one of his guards came to report to him about the task's progress.
"Your Grace, we found the whereabouts of Lord Baratheon." Said the guard after Rhaegar allowed him to enter the room.
"Speak." Ordered, Rhaegar while putting on his usual smile.
"We asked the city's watch of King's Landing (The Gold cloaks) and found out that he had entered King's Landing this morning. He stayed in one of his houses with his mother. What orders do you have for us?" Said the guard while asking Rhaegar how they should move from here on.
Rhaegar thought for a moment. His mind was disturbed at the moment, and he had no energy to spare on meeting someone. He decided to wait for one or two days before contacting Edward. He did not know anything about the man in the first place, so he decided to gather more information about him.
"Keep an eye on him for the time being and send someone to gather all the information about the Young Lord Baratheon. Also, inform Ser Barristan to meet me the first day in the morning." Said Rhaegar as he signaled the guard to retreat.
"As you wish, your grace." Said the guard as he retreated and left the room.
After the guard left his room, Rhaegar changed his clothes and went to his bed. A lot had happened to him that day, and he had to rest his mind.
The next morning after waking up, washing his body, and wearing his clothes, Rhaegar heard a knock on the door.
"Come on in." It seemed that Rhaegar knew who was standing in front of the door.
The door opened, and it was indeed Ser Barristan Selmy. When Barristan saw the prince, he knelt in front of him at once.
"Your grace." Said Barristan with a humble voice.
Edward had to admit defeat in front of Rhaegar for three things.
First, Rhaegar had a pretty girly face.
Second, He had a pretty voice and was a natural at flirting. That helped him get Lyanna.
The third was Barristan Selmy and Arthur Dayne's Loyalty.
Edward did not know what Rhaegar had put in Barristan's drink to make him swear such loyalty for him. He neither trained him nor he had changed his life as Edward did with his men. But Barristan was always praising the sissy boy. Even if he was kind towards The Smallfalks and a good swordsman, that alone couldn't provide him such loyalty. Rhaegar neither made many achievements nor was a good ruler. He did not deserve people like Barristan Selmy nor Arther Dayne to serve him and think that he was The Promised Prince.
"Barristan, I heard you were with The Young Lord Baratheon when you saved my father." Questioned the prince with his usual smile while signaling Barristan to stand.
"Indeed, Your Grace. I was with Lord Baratheon when we saved the king." confirmed the Kingsguard.
"What do you think of him?" Asked Rhaegar while paying attention to Bariistan. He had much interest in Edward for the past month after hearing all that good things about him. And since Barristan was one of his loyal men and Rhaegar had much trust in the knight, Barristan's opinion was of great importance.
