Chereads / Demon's Lightning / Chapter 8 - Sunrise

Chapter 8 - Sunrise

Black snow was falling from the sky. I was having the same dream as last time but the snow was black. The man in the black robe took off his hood, his face was blurry. His eyes were glowing bright red, He steps towards me and mumbled something a bit louder than last time. All I could hear were the words "you". I see my brother behind the man again and I see the black hole swallow me again.

I woke up it was still night. Hina's body was against mine, she was warm, her hands were wrapped around me. She felt so fragile like she would break if I touched her. Her face looked so peaceful. My mouth was dry so I needed some water. I didn't want to disturb her but I had to get up. I slowly sat up and I slid out of the bed. I walked towards the door and Hina said: "Yuki... where are you going?" I told her: "I just need some water" I walked over to the kitchen and filled up a glass of water. I sat down and just sat still, I started crying again but I didn't know why. Hina walked out of the room and looked beautiful with her hair tied back and in her nightgown. She pulled a chair and sat right in front of me, she sat down slowly asking: "Did you have a nightmare?". I gulped down my water, I was breathing heavily, I couldn't think properly. Hina touched my hand and I had a vision...There was a beast right in front of me like the one Daichi was explaining in his story.

I saw black and white lighting around me, I was seeing what happened in Daichi's story. I see myself turn around and give him the purple gem. I see the lighting strike down the beast and it starts to fade away. I turn around and I'm on my knees and I start to fade away, but something was weird, It felt like the purple stone had something to do with me fading away.

I opened my eyes and Hina's hands were on my face and she asked me: "Finally you're awake, I touched your hand and you just passed out". "How long was I out for?" I asked, she said: "Around 3 minutes, you had me worried sick," I felt bad for her so I tell her "I'm sorry I just had a vision and I got scared", I get up and put the glass on the table and told Hina: "I'm heading back to bed". She nodded and gave me warm smile, I got in bed but I couldn't go to sleep. Hina walked through the door 3 minutes later and climbed into the bed. I was tired and not thinking straight so I didn't notice Hina holding my hand. I was still awake after 30 minutes and thinking about the vision I had. I looked out the window and just saw the view of the mountains and the starry sky. I was about to get up when I realized Hina was holding my hand, so I let go of Hina's hand as carefully as I could and I get up really quietly, put on a shirt, and grab the spare blanket in the closet, and head outside. I look for somewhere to sit on the side of a cliff near the house. I sit in peace enjoying the view and the cool breeze blowing against my face while the blanket is wrapped around me. I sit enjoying it for around 10 minutes when I hear footsteps, I turn around to see Hina still in her nightgown, she sits right next to me and we share the blanket together. she leaned against me and her shoulder touched mine, her's was warm while mine was cold from sitting outside.

The sun starts to come up and we see the light of the sun come up from behind the mountain. Hina lays her head on my shoulder and grabs my arm. I lay my head on her head as we watch the sunrise together, her body was starting to warm me up even though we were both wrapped up in blankets. The ball of the sun starts to come up from behind the mountains. She grabs on to me tighter, I look at her and she's crying. "Hey why are you crying, you okay?" I said. I wipe the tears from her face and she grabs my hand and says: "It's nothing I'm just... happy being with you" I had a weird feeling inside me that I've never felt before. I just say: "I'm glad I could make you happy". We watch the sunrise from behind the mountains and the light starts to shine upon the mountains. I didn't know what this feeling was called. Her warm body against mine, her warm hands holding mine as she would never let go, I never felt happier in my life
