Chapter 1 - Chapter 1. Starry Night

I woke up with sun rays hitting my face, looked around my bedroom while stripping and walking to the bathroom, the hot morning made little sweat pearls build up around my body, I opened the shower and shook as the cold water hit my skin.

Walking around with just a towel covering my body I brew some coffee and toasted some bread while smoking the first cigarette of the day, yes I do tend to smoke when I'm under stress, and today being my first day at a new job I feel like throwing a stress ball to the first person who dares to say "Just relax".

I buttered the hot piece of bread and poured the coffee on an icy tall glass. "Breakfast of champions" I thought to myself while walking back to my room to start getting ready for the day. I decided on wearing a pair of black skinny jeans, a black lacy blouse and a pair of strappy black high heels, this outfit made my pale skin look even paler. For make-up I kept it simple, just a little bit of black eye liner, mascara along with my signature red lipstick.

After I saw myself in the mirror and practiced my most polite smile I walked out the door to face the day. At this new job I was introduced to some of my new coworkers, I looked at Anya, one of the girls I would be working with, she's taller than me, I'm barely 150cm (4.9 ft) while Anya is 170cm (5.5 ft.).

Anya was in charge of showing me what would be my new office, everything was simple, a nice cherry wood desk, my new laptop, one note book and lots of pens and highlighters, Anya taught me the system I would be using in the Travel Agency along with different documents regarding complaints that I would need to take care off, when I saw Anya's tattoo I smiled widely.

"Didn't know you had tattoos"

"Huh? Oh! This?" Anya answered touching her neck "Yeah, it was a drunken mistake."

"Oh…" I nodded at her response.

Since I was 14 years old I was bullied for liking different things, if the girls at my school would wear nice high heel school shoes I would wear black converse or vans. If they danced to Jennifer Lopez, I would play my guitar to Linkin Park "In the End".

"Did you understand?" Anya looked at me with a concerned look on her face.

"Huh? Ah! Yes, all good." I faked a small smile. "Time to get to work" I started working in a new travel agency as a manager, so I spent most of my time making sure clients trips were all set with no issues and taking care of clients complaints.

A few months passed and I was called to the HR office, thinking that I may had made a mistake, I entered the place with a worried look on my eyes.

"Sabrina, hi!" Said Leticia the HR manager. "Please sit, we need to talk about a position opening up, and I think you would be perfect for it." I sat down in a small couch in front of the girl.

"What is this about?" I asked a little nervousness could be found in my voice, and damn I hate that.

"We're opening a new office overseas and since out of all the managers here you are the only one with the numbers needed to go to it. You'll go as Director instead of manager, meaning more money, and since it's overseas the company will provide you with housing and services, you only need to basically buy your food." My eyes were wide open and also smiled genuinely for the first time, is this really happening?

"Are you serious? Where would I be going?"

"London. I know is far away, and since we live practically in the desert it's gonna be a shock because it's freaking cold over there, but you are really my best option for the new office."

I was ecstatic, London was one of the cities I've always wanted to visit.

"I'm in" I said with hope in my eyes, this could be the perfect fresh start for me.

"Perfect, because you're leaving in 3 weeks, so please arrange everything here, as I mentioned housing will be provided by the company, so no need to worry, but at least for the first week you'll have to live in one of our designated hotels."

I left the office with a huge smile in my face, I could finally see the Big Ben, the Parliament and the British Museum, all those places I've read about.

Those 3 weeks went by so fast, I'm leaving my old and boring life behind and starting a new chapter on my life, arriving at the London Airport I smiled as I breathed in the cold air, left I purse in a chair for a second to put on a black coat, even if I was prepared I never thought that it would be that cold. Decided and tired I walked to the exit to get a taxi to finally go to the hotel that would be my home for the next few weeks.

While waiting and leaving my suit on the floor I lit a cigarette when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Sorry, could I borrow your lighter, seems like I lost mine" A deep husky voice takes me out of my thoughts, I turned around and saw a pair of beautiful blue eyes looking back at me.

"Here" I handed the tall guy my zippo lighter, he lit a cigarette himself and returned the lighter to me. "Thank you darling." He gave me a cute yet shy smile.

"No problem" I answered blushing and unwillingly biting my lower lip, is he looking at my lips? I turned around nervous like never before, when I finally see a taxi driver stopped in front of us offering his services, since the tall man didn't need it, he offered to help me.

"Let me help you darling…"

"Oh, it's ok, I got it" said the taxi driver smiling from ear to ear as he had recognized the tall man standing next to me.

"Thanks" I looked up to the tall man. "I guess see you around?" I smiled at him, then he being a gentleman opened the car door for me, making the red on my cheeks go from a light pink to a deep red, I hoped on the car and waved at him. He stood there for a few seconds seeing that taxi disappear in front of his eyes.

After arriving to the hotel and finally being in the room that would be my home for the next few weeks I smiled, I'm so happy to be somewhere other than my home town, leaving everything that hurt me behind, those old and sad memories. After taking a warm bath I put on some make-up and changed into a pair of skinny jeans, a white sweater and a matching coat along with a pair of black high heeled boots, the day was perfect, I didn't need to show up to the new office, so I could walk around and do a little site seeing, I did my make up and left my wavy hair down. At front desk the receptionist offered me a few pamphlets with different bars and cafes I could go to, and me being a caffeine lover, the obvious option was a hot cup of coffee.

Once I arrived, I noticed I forgot my cigarettes, was about to go back when I saw the guy from the airport again, this time he wasn't alone, he had a girl grabbing him by the arm. I don't know why I felt sad, but brushed that feeling aside and entered the cafe ordering a cappuccino along with a slice of chocolate cake. The waiter took the order to my table and I snapped a picture of it sending it to my two best friends Andrea and Karla, I miss them to death already and I hope I can bring them over the summer.

As I was drinking my coffee and eating my cake in peace then I felt that somebody was staring at me, I looked around but couldn't see anybody, so I decided to get up and look for a convenience store to buy some cigarettes and a lighter. I was immersed inside my head that I never saw the man from the airport watching me.

Back in my room I changed my clothes and took off my make-up ready to go to bed, but I wasn't tired, so I turned on the TV and saw the picture of Airport guy staring back at me, who is this guy? Is he like a celebrity or something?

Taking a deep breath I take a fuzzy and cozy blanket covering my body with it and open the balcony door allowing the fresh air to enter the room, the night sky is beautiful, not so many clouds and the stars and moon looked so bright, a smile made its way to my lips as I suddenly remembered a pair of beautiful blue eyes…

Back in his house Ryan was wondering who that girl was, he couldn't forget her brown eyes and that cute face she made when she bit her lip, it was the most sensual and cute thing he had seen a girl do.
