Why hadn't Sierra realized exactly how much of her life Nathan had taken over during his time as her best friend? It shouldn't be this hard to forget someone that wanted nothing to do with her! But it was.
Those weren't the only reminders of him either. People still talked about Crossbones all the time so she had to worry about that idiot getting himself killed in his latest escapade on top of everything else. She would never tell anyone his secret even though they weren't friends anymore because she knew it would ruin his life.
She wasn't that petty. Angry as she had been at him for a while, she wanted him to be happy. He deserved that after all he had been through and all the good he had quietly done for others over the years without claiming any of the credit.
Sierra wanted him to be happy more than almost anything…she had simply hoped she would be able to see it happen and be a part of it somehow. Cheering him on from a distance wasn't the same.
