Everett Ailan's/Malefici's P.O.V
I glanced up from my textbook and scanned the entire room. Luzor once told me that the Heroes tend to be female, since it was always them that believed in really stupid things like unicorns, mermaids, and fairies.
My body involuntarily shook. Those creatures actually did exist, and things will be harder to take care of once those guys find their hosts.
But who could this Grand White Wizard be? I haven't even met her, and I knew that I already hated her. Maybe it was because of the previous user ruining Luzor's plans, or because she was my equal. Either way, she needed to go.
I didn't have anything to go on. No personality, hair color, eye color, names; nothing. Stupid Luzor; how do you expect me to get anything accomplished like this!
My face sunk as I put my head back down. I couldn't help but wonder how many Heroes there were compared to the Villains. Luzor did mention that he found me a battle partner, and I knew full well that it was not Demonaris. I would have pitched a fit if it was.
But what was my battle partner going to be like? Was he going to be as annoying as Demonaris?
I was pulled from my thoughts when I heard a soft voice. It sounded like bells, not literally, of course.
"Everett? Are you alright? You look nervous."
It was Lucy, the blonde haired-blue eyed girl that just could not take a hint.
"Go away." I said flatly. I needed to think about things, and she was not helping.
Her eyes grew sad, and I looked back down at my book as she walked away.
I sighed. I could have sworn I turned this girl down a dozen times, but maybe that was just all in my head.
I started to grow tired, and I had to put my head down behind the textbook.
"Malefici!"
I woke up to Luzor's deep voice.
"Stupid? Do you really think you will get away with that?"
"It's not my fault you can't give me any information! How in the whole wide universe am I suppose to find one person when you don't give me anything to go on?!"
He hit me with the dull end of his scythe. "Shut up. The reason I called you here is because I can sense that she is close by. You need to find out who this is."
"How close?" This sparked my interest.
"A quarter mile at the most. Just go and find her."
"But I can't just walk out of class!"
He frowned. "You're the schools biggest rebel. Of course you can."
Luzor raised his left hand and forced me out of the Dark Space.
Once I arrived back on earth, I jerked my head up and slammed the book shut. This was going to get me a two-hour detention at the very least, but Luzor's punishments were nothing to laugh at. Detention almost seemed to be a good thing compared to his punishments.
I slammed my hands on the table, and straight up walked out. Ms. Heart called after me a few times, then gave up and went back to the classroom.
As I left the doors of the school, I managed to find a shed close by. After picking the lock with one of my brothers pins, I slid inside the dark room.
I took off my jacket and raised my left arm sleeve up to my shoulder. The blue scythe marking started to grow vibrantly as I traced the mark Luzor gave me.
"Quarter of a mile, huh. " I said after I turned back into Malefici. "This shouldn't be too difficult if she transformed already."
I placed my hand on the wooden boards that made up the walls of the shed. The wood started to snap and break, and it eventually exploded from the inside out.
I came up with a brilliant idea before going to search for the White Wizard. Lucy may not be intimidated by Everett Ailan, but she was surely terrified of the Black Demon Malefici.
After leaping onto the school building again, I managed to find the exact area where my classroom was. I was able to summon a scythe similar to Luzor's, this one being just a hair smaller and having yellow jewels encrusted instead of red ones.
I slammed the tip of the scythe on the school roof with all my strength, and it gave way with ease. I had a sense of pride when I realized my guess was right. This was my classroom, and Lucy looked extremely terrified.
I swung my scythe over my left shoulder and let it rest. Ms. Heart jumped to the far side of the class along with everyone else. I laughed, and I almost freaked myself out by how evil it sounded.
I surrounded myself with the comforting black aura that Luzor always wore, and I channeled it to my hands. Right as I was about to aim it towards the students, a figure crashed through the window and tackled me.
We went straight through the other side of the classrooms wall, through the hallway, into another classroom, and into another window. I came to a rough landing outside in a patch of dirt.
"What the?" I looked around and tried to search for my scythe. Who did that?
A small girl stood just a few yards away. She was incredibly tiny, and resembled an elf in a weird way. Her pointed ears, green forest outfit, and orange mask gave it all away. The bow and arrow she wore just made my assumption concrete.
"You're one of the Heroes, aren't you!" she must have stolen or destroyed my scythe, since I couldn't even sense it anymore.
She pulled out her giant bow, and took out a glowing arrow. I started to chuckle.
"Do you really think you can hit me?
A figure landed next to her and stood up. "I wouldn't underestimate an elf. They are one of the fastest Heroes."
She wore a black, white, and purple costume with a matching mask. Her long blonde hair was tied back with a white tie, and she held a giant white staff in both hands.
I clenched my teeth. "You're the White Wizard."
She grinned. "In the flesh and blood. But call me Justine."
The elf fired the arrow, but by the time I noticed it, all I could hope for was that I could catch it. To my surprise, I caught it in the nick of time.
I threw the now broken arrow on the ground. "Is that your best? I was hoping for a little more."
The elf disappeared and reappeared in a dozen different places. Even with my now demonic eyes, I had a hard time keeping up.
I thought I had the upper hand when I finally sensed a pattern, but I was hit from the back before I could tell what was going on. I fell face first into the dirt again. It was the Wizard!
I grew furious. I hated to be picked on like this twice in two days. After picking myself back up, I started to chase the elf.
Once i managed to almost reach her, I pulled on her short green hair and watched as she fell to the ground.
The wizard frowned and charged after me. I waited until she was just a few feet away before she swung her staff, and I could tell that the elf was also preparing an attack. Right before they struck me, I dodged a couple yards to my left.
I watched as they struck each other with their magic. White electrical sparks burst, and the two were sent flying to opposite sides of the school's property.
When I walked over to where the White Wizard landed in the school wall, I kicked her torso to make sure she was really out.
She lurched over and fell to the ground. With one more good kick, she was out.
"Sweet dreams, Justine."
