"Ah damn it, how I envy my character on this game! He's got everything, money, fame, women, everything I don't have!" shouted Galahad inside the game as he slowly collapsed to the ground.
Galahad is your normal virgin guy. He has no wife even though he's already 30 yeats old. Not owning a house of his own and he's working on an office to earn money to support his hobbies such as gaming.
It's been more than 15 years since the solar flare hit the Earth. This solar flare caused the death of Galahad's family and made the surviving people create underground cities all over the planet. This past years he's been all alone. He worked different jobs just to earn enough to feed himself. The orphanage he was assigned closed down due to bankruptcy and he's left all by himself. This cycle continued until he's 18 where he luckily kanded himself a job as an office worker. His new job provided him enough money to rent an apartment on the suburbs of the underground city he was residing in while at the same time finance his hobbies and feed him.
The VR industry was rocky these past years because of fear that it will replace the real world but this fear was quickly erased by the solar flare. Now, the VR world is the only place where people can enjoy the lushful green beauty of a planet they once had. This resulted on the VR industry flourishing leading to the countless games for sale in the VR world. But a game stood on op of the food chain. This game is the Amazing Cultivation Simulator. A rather funny sounding game but once you played it you will be easily captivated by its realism.
The game was so realistic that it even brought real world issues such as social status differences. The game presented you with countless microtransactions you would start to think that you're gambling your money. But this didn't stopped the player from playing the game. You can choose to play the hard way or the easy way. It brought the idea of the usual xianxia cultivation novels to a game and it made the game famous.
The game where rich young masters can easily achieve breakthroughs on realms because of resources aka money while the supposedly "Main Characters" strives to achive immortality by snatching and doing everything to gain the necessary resources to be able to breakthrough to the next realm.
This game became the embodiment of everyone's fantasy on face slapping young masters and being domineering. Of course this didn't happened very much. The power of money is just simply impossible to beat that no matter how great your "talent" is. The game simply has no limits to what you can do. You want to start a family here? Go as ling as you're powerful enough to not get you wife snatched by another one. You want to create a sect? Go why not, as long as the top sects doesn't destroy you outright. The game's limit is your imagination.
Galahad is a player you can cosider to be a "rich young master" type. He reaches the maxed cultivation realm by pretty much buying it. He has the best items the game can offer. The best manuals, etc. His skill in the game is also top notch. Though not comparable to the pros but he's still the number 1 player of his server and top 45 on world server.
Currently, he's on his personal manor. The Heaven's Immortal Dwelling. He built this manor on the most expensive mountain peak on the World Server. This cost him 5 months worth of salary but everything is worth it for him. His manor is the one of the most beautiful, expensive, durable, etc. amongst the countless manors present in the game including those owned by the pro players.
Galahad is still sitting on the ground near the edge of his peak overseeing the whole world as if he's a god surveying his creation.
"I started playing this when I was 20 and now, I'm already 30. It's a decade of continuous playing, grinding, and spending that made me reach the position I'm currently in. Sadly, all of this is only data and will never be true" said Galahad finally calming down and appreciating the game's beauty.
*Sigh
"If I would get the chance of becoming my character just for a day I would be able to die right then and there. But alas, I know it's impossible" said Galahad with sadness.
Just then a bell ringed inside his head signifying that someone has sent him a message. Galahad just lazily opened the message and read the content with a bored face. As he was reading the content line after line he was getting more and more shocked. The message came from a player with a gamertag of Mr. Genie. He said that he has heard his wishes to transmigrate as his character in this game and will grant it to him with not strings attached.
Galahad just laughed at the madness and levek of craziness the player who chatte him has. He felt that it wouldn't hurt to play along with Mr. Genie's joke so he typed a response.
[Can you really do it?! Please do it! I would be really glad if you can do it! I mean heck I'll love you if you want just make my wish come true!] typed Galahad while laughing, thinking that he may be able to do a revenge prank to Mr. Genie.
[What the fuck are you? No homo bro, well off you go then] responded Mr. Genie and after he read the reply he laughed with eyes closed thinking of the reaction on the fave of Mr. Genie before opening it again and seeing that the conversation box had disappeared and he feel the breeze of the wind blowing through his beautiful face. He surveyed his surroundings and everything he saw felt so real. Even though the graphics of Amazing Cultivation Simulator is great it can't reach this level of realism. Each of the grass strands moves randomly due to the wind which is impossible for the game to implement. The fact that he also feel the wind blow so vividly even though he turned off the emotion simulator for the game made him deadly shocked.
"What in the actual fuck?!"
