Chapter 27 - Chapter 26: The Parents and The Meeting

Elrisha

"Mom, meet –" I was about to introduce my beloved girlfriend to my mother but she has to cut me off all of the sudden.

"Good, you're awake. Now, come let's get you something to eat." My mother seriously ignored me and just took Mirna's hand and even wrapped her arms around hers.

I was totally left dumbfounded about what just happened until I noticed Mirna's confused look written all over her face. I can't help but smile since she really does need my help around my mother all of the sudden. I run after them and quickly stole my beloved from my mother's arms who's grinning like a sly vampire. Oh, I remember from where I saw that kind of smile which only meant that she's here. I just shook that thought and just reassured Mirna that nothing would happen to her in the house full of noble vampires.

As soon as we got to the dining hall, I could smell the familiar scent of Tabaco from a pine pipe that my father always used. I dragged Mirna with me and for just a few feet away from her, I jumped to my father but instead of having a welcome hug, I gave a roundhouse kick at his head. But with quick reflexes, he managed to catch it but I won't stop with that just attack but I did multiple counter punches and kicks to his blocks.

"Don't be surprised, Dear. They always greet each other likes this and they still managed not to ruin the place where they did it." I heard my mother talked to my beloved girlfriend, Mirna while I am busy doing my welcome routine with my father.

"I could see that." Mirna chuckled with amusement in her tone which made my heart feel warm and led me on smirking.

"Pardon me, I'm Ayisha Eclaire but you can call me Eclaire since my husband didn't anyone call me by my first name and I still don't know why." My mother whispered very low yet my father and I could still hear her very loud and clear.

"Mirna. Mirna James." Mirna introduced herself back to my mother whom I know likes the politeness in Mrina's tone. She might be curious about something that intrigues her yet she never forgets how to be politely blunt on saying what's on her mind.

"I know but you're not just Mirna James." My mother slyly smiled at her which I don't like what it meant. Something was about to happen.

"What do you mean?" the curious Mirna finally came out.

"Hold it for a second." Mom smiled before turning her attention to us.

"You two finish it or I will." Mom warned us which immediately my father and I stopped the welcoming greeting that we always do.

My father and I dusted ourselves before facing the love of our lives with our presentable selves. Then, I looked at Mirna's gaze fixed on my father which caught my interest.

I know my father was looking at a prince in a black horse – I mean, he looked badass that any human ladies were attracted to but to Mirna's gaze, it was something else.

"Care to tell why this young lady staring at me like that?" my father asked in his very low and raspy voice that could send anyone to cower.

"Ahm, sorry for being rude. You looked familiar like I've seen you before when I was five." Mirna apologized for staring yet she still mentioned why she's doing it.

"State your name, young lady." My father firmly ordered my beloved which I don't like at all.

"Dad, she's my beloved. Mirna James." I interjected with my irritating tone.

"Mirna…" Dad repeated her name as if he heard that name before.

My father, Duke Criel Kent Cross might be badass looking in any human eye because of his strong facial features and really masculine body but it wasn't too buff or full of muscles. He was also living with the so-called name of the cold one or the stone face because of being a poker face whenever he's dealing business or being a trusted knight in the Ciel Nocturne Kingdom. But inside the household, he's collected, serious but soft whenever it comes in cooking or in the kitchen. No one can touch his kitchen unless you're a chef. Plus, he's a very neat and tidy person whom I inherit from him and I am thankful for that.

"Parents?" Dad cut me off from my thoughts when he asked Mirna as we all took our liberty to seat comfortably at the nook by the window since the main dining table was huge for four people.

"Melissa Santos and Jackson James." She answered honestly then say her gratitude to the vampire servant that help her with the chair.

"They're not married?" Mom curiously wondered.

"They never got a chance to since I was born and my mother died in a car crash incident when I was five." Mirna answered as if it didn't bother her much that at an early age she already lost her mother.

"Ah! I remember. You're the little kid that JJ usually brought in the company to play with my dogs." Dad finally recalled their connection from a long time ago through Mirna's father. But what caught my attention was when he mentioned that young Mirna was playing with his dogs.

"Dad, you mean your demon dogs?" I really wanted to make sure that his night creature dogs that we're talking about and not just any ordinary dogs out there.

"Yes. I was totally taken back when I saw her playing with them at my office after our company meetings." Dad cleared to me which exactly the food that my father just cooked was being served by our servants.

"Demon dogs?" Mirna was curious about what she just heard.

"They were once ordinary dogs that had been cursed when they died due to their wrongdoings and they were mostly used to be a familiar to protect the one who summoned it. Mostly, they were being passed down to those who can see them." I explained for her to have a better understanding regarding it.

"And they're my familiar that protects me wherever I go since my wife gave them to me which at first really hard to tame but eventually they were. That's why I am surprised that you could play with them even without forming any contract or taming them." Dad was smiling as he said them. He was reminiscing those times.

"Can you remember their names?" Dad curiously asked Mirna who suddenly went into her deep thoughts.

"Hmm, Falcu and Fayehen." Mirna firmly guessed like she was totally sure about the names that she mentioned and my father was grinning from ear to ear. Well, to me I didn't know their names yet I do saw what they looked before I left the household.

Just within a few seconds, Mirna suddenly stood up from her seat then stepped away from the table and smiled. I was about to say something when she was suddenly being welcomed by the saliva of the demon dogs that seems like misses her really big time.

"Enough." Mirna firmly said to the demon dogs that quickly stopped from bathing her with their saliva.

"Falcu, why do you look chubby like me?" Mirna was smiling as she asked the demon dog that looked like a black wolf that has a spiked collar with a red bandana around its neck.

'I'm not.'

"And Fayehen, beautiful as always and you still wearing it?" Mirna turned to the other demon dog which was totally a white wolf with a black scarf wrapped around its neck.

'It's comfy to wear.'

"So you two we are your kids?" Mirna was grinning at them which made both of the demon dogs look at each other before jumping then snuggling at her.

Mirna was laughing at their gesture why the three of us seriously can't believe what we have just witness until those demons dogs went to their alert mode. Mirna seems to be doing the same and when I looked at her eyes, Unega Unatsi was already taken over her right eye. I still can't believe that they existed altogether in one body already.

"Well, well. It's good to find another tamer like Ayame." A very familiar voice caught my attention since it sent a shiver down my spine.

"Enough, Ceres. I need to talk to Unega Unatsi privately and its mate." Another voice that I barely even recognized spoke from behind of Celestial Ceres Aspire-Marshall.

Mirna

I know that I am having fun playing with the demon dogs in front of me and to my sight, they don't even look like any demon creature at all – oh well, appearance can be deceiving. Anyway, while I was playing with them a song suddenly rang into me as if these two creatures in front of me were the cause of it. The song that's playing around my background was the song of Sugar Rush by Ateens. But I know it wasn't because of the demon dogs that I am petting but the presence of someone familiar and dear to me.

I get a high whenever you're around

Sweeping from my head to my toes

I gotta get my feet back on the ground

'Cause you make me go out of my way

crossing the line making me say what I have in mind

I turned around as if everything was very slow and when she spoke it made my heart all tingle even though I already have Elrisha as my beloved girlfriend. But I knew that this pull was different from a lover.

You make me so excited

And I don't want to fight it

I start to blush

You are my Sugar Rush

Ain't nothing better baby

Is it for real or maybe?

I start to blush

You are my Sugar Rush

I couldn't speak or even move onto my ground and I just kept staring at her behind the lady that seems to put Elrisha at the edge. Seriously, I didn't know how could I tell that she was being on the edge or maybe because of the gut feeling. Anyway, I just focused on the other lady who's staring back at me.

"I got a sweet and fine taste for you

It might me too obvious but

I can't help myself from what I do

'Cause you make me go out of my way

crossing the line

making my say what I have in mind…" the lady began to sing exactly what's playing around my background and it's very alluring like I really knew her.

You make me so excited

And I don't want to fight it

I start to blush

You are my Sugar Rush

Ain't nothing better baby

Is it for real or maybe?

I start to blush

You are my Sugar Rush

The chorus of the song kept playing as my eyes still fixed over the lady that walking toward me. I was totally frozen to my ground until I felt some jealous radiating from someone standing beside me. Elrisha was totally possessive since she couldn't understand what's happening to me toward this particular lady. I can't even hear what they were talking since all I could see was their mouths moving and the song still playing till it reached its bridge.

"Baby you're my Sugar Rush

I get weak and talk too much

You're the sweetest thing I ever tasted

Baby you're my Sugar Rush

I get weak and talk too much." I sang the bridge part which also snapped me from being frozen when two different hands touched me. One came from Elrisha's possessive arms wrapped around my waist and the other one was from my cheek.

"Indeed, you talk too much my sugar rush, Irna." The lady that just approached us talked directly to me and the only person who called me that was her.

"A-yame…" I stuttered a little since I've been trying not to say that name ever since bad things happened to me and she's not there.

"You remember me." Ayame slightly chuckled but I know there's sadness in them.

"You're the only one who called me Irna plus…" I stated but slowly something from the past began to crawl up to my throat and my heart was aching to the max which led me to snap.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THESE YEARS?! YOU SAID YOU'RE GOING TO PROTECT ME BUT WHERE ARE YOU WHEN I WAS IN THAT DARK PLACE, IN THAT MAN'S HANDS?! WHERE ARE YOU WHEN I NEED YOU THE MOST, Aya…" I shouted at her as I gave her my very hard slap over her face and I wasn't done yet. When I caught her head, I pulled it toward my knee which made her stumbled and made her nose start bleeding.

"I know that's why I contacted Ceres to take you from there and start a new under the wings of Lady Syrina since she fancies you like you're her daughter." Ayame directly informed me about the real reason why I suddenly received a scholarship and was being mentored directly by Lady Syrina.

"I have my reason why I can't be with you and that's why I am here. I have to tell you the rest of the blood resting inside of you." Ayame added which caught my interest. Dammit, even though, I am mad at what she did to me, I still can't help but be curious about what she told me about my blood.

'Just listen you will know.'

"Fine. Just help me if I can't fully grasp whatever it is." I groaned in my thoughts.

'I promise.'

"Better to keep it then." I countered since I don't want to be left hanging like what Ayame did to me once.

'No need for you to remind me about that. I just know since I've been waiting for my beloved mate for so many years already.'

"Use my painting room. It's protected." I was cut off from my thoughts when I heard Elrisha's mother named Eclaire said something which I could bet it's gonna be a long conversation with them. Especially, Ayame.
