Elrisha
As soon we both hit the door of our workplace, I slightly glance over my shoulder to see Mirna's reaction and it made me smile – well, more on smirking. Mirna was smiling but as soon as I opened the door of our laboratory, her smile turned into a serious façade which I am feeling proud of. I am not sure why I do felt that but I am. I am satisfied with this mate of mine.
Inside the PRLab1, we both settled our things over our locker tables and wore our white laboratory coats before entering the laboratory. We both went to our respective tables and prepare the things that were needed for the next pace of our research.
"Ready for the moment of truth?" I asked while I am putting on my surgical gloves.
"Of course. It's the second pace which I hope we managed to pull it through." Mirna agreed while she's doing the same over her hands.
"Well, better to expect the trial and error of this research." I reminded her that made me heard her chuckles.
"That's the fun of it right?" she winked at me before getting her samples on the storage fridge.
"Indeed fun." I smiled as I turned my way to get the fallen blood samples over the classified storage fridge that I am the only one who has access to.
I let the eye scanner scan my vampire eyes which was the mauve-grey bloodshot that Mirna always saw in me each time I smelled her blood. Well, I changed my previous passcode when she became my partner since there were times that I won't be able to control those eyes of mine ever since I found her, my beloved mate. Anyway, I took out a different blood bag and took a couple of millimeters before putting it at the testing tube then took it to my table.
"Any reactions?" I wondered while I was preparing the test tubes with those fallen rogues' blood samples over my table.
"Hm, nothing changes after 24 hours. Not even the slightest." Mirna answered in her neutral tone which made me glance for a second to her. She was writing down on her pad about the reaction that she saw over the experiment.
"Good. Here are the fallen rogues' blood samples. Each came from different types of fallen rogues." I told her which caught her attention.
"They have types?" she wondered.
"Yes. They were like small, medium, large, extra-large in human language. But to the night creatures, they have classes like a class A fallen rogue was just like any human being. Class B was like typical rogues. Class C was like either human with threatening tendencies. Class D was like a killer with intentions or vengeance. Class E was like short-tempered creatures or always at the edge of snapping their control. Then there are special cases." I explained the first part of the fallen rogues' types.
"Special cases? They are others?" she was beginning to be curious which I'm starting to like about her.
"Well, special cases of fallen rogues they were extremely unpredictable kinds. Meaning, all the classes that I just mentioned could all possess two or three but there were few fallen rogues has them all." I answered as I looked over my watch at my wrist.
"Okay. Tell me about them." She really wanted to hear those types.
"Good to hear that you want to learn about them." I smiled before I waved my hand for her moved next to me.
"I have too since I am making some meds for them plus, I am dating a vampire lady boss." She answered as she went closer to where I am sitting.
"Nice, dating huh." I smirked at the word which made her immediately blushed. She's embarrassed again from what she just told me.
"Anyway, back to work." She changed the subject which made me smile in amusement.
"Right. About the special cases, they were categorized into three stages or parts. Class S types of fallen rogues possessed humanity yet have tendencies on committing crimes. Class SS was the same with Class S but they mostly possessed the traits of quick edge or like in Class E. As for the class SSS, these are those types of rogues that could be anything that I stated and most of them have no control anymore of their deepest desire. Meaning SSS can't go back easily to what they were before they became fallen rogues. Then lastly the very rare type of fallen rogues, the Class Loop." I explained to her what are the rare types of the fallen rogues that all of the kingdoms divided into categories. But for me honestly, they were still a threat if not being careful.
"These types were rare because they could switch on and off their fallen rogue sides which most known traits of them were like playing games or making stage on their killing their prey. But if they lose their full control of the fallen side, they'll be the threat in all kingdoms in the night realm. It will put most humans in grave danger. The best example of the rarely fallen rogue was Syrina's cousin, Celestial Ceres." I continued which made her eyebrow knotted.
"Why?" she curiously wondered why I said that. Well, it's true that Celestial Ceres was one of the kind among of all the fallen rogues that I ever met.
"She went through all of the traits that I just told you. She went through hell just for her to obtain the title that she's really good at. She's being feared and jealous by those Fallen Rogues among the other fallen rogues because she's their queen or the great fallen rogue." I honestly answered the reason why Syrina's cousin was the best example of that type of fallen rogue.
"Now I am intrigued by what kind of person she is." She smiled genuinely which made my heart reacted.
"Oh, you don't want to know if you can't tolerate being taunt." I warned her as I recalled how Celestial Ceres could wear her knowing smile which sent shivers down my spine.
"Well, maybe." She only said as she patted my shoulder as if she was telling me that I should get over it.
I just let out some sighs before we start on our work. Mirna took a couple of small portions of our first different dosages sample of FRSil while I'm the one was putting fallen rogues' blood over it. At each mix of different types of fallen rogues categories, FRSil has different kinds of reactions.
"Woah! Look at this class B's blood sample with our FRSil." I called out for Mirna who's start noting down the reactions of each blood on our experimental med.
"It turned clogged." Mirna commented as she looked over the class B's blood sample with FRSil dosage.
"Indeed. Failure. We don't want them to die because their blood turned into a mass of blood." I agreed as I don't want to kill them unless I have to but we're here to make a medication to lessen the loss of both parties.
"What FRSil did you put in there?" she caught my attention as she was noting down what she seeing over the reaction on the class B's blood.
"I tried the half dosage over this sample." I answered as I've also understood what she was about to tell me but I just want to hear her own guess over our experiment.
"And look over at this one. It's also class B's blood, right?" she pointed over the first class B's blood sample that has a small amount of FRSil.
"Yes. It's a quarter FRSil dosages." I answered as I watched her serious work mode that I am feeling proud over.
"And it was the same with the class A's blood and they have the same reaction. Class A and B could have the same dosages of low FRSil." Mirna pinpointed that both classes could have the same dosages of FRSil since there are no negative reactions and it just blended each blood sample.
"Good. Now set them aside and let see another reaction if there's some after two, four, and six hours." I smiled over her observation then instructed her what to do next.
"Okay. I'll put them at exclusive storage fridge." She informed me as she walked with the class A and B's blood samples with FRSil already.
"Set the temperature at 36 degrees Celsius." I added which she nods at.
I let her do what she has to do over the exclusive storage fridge that was specially made for this type of experiment. I focus on the other reactions and noting down over my pad what I've observed. Each has different types of reactions. There are some was totally negative or not compatible with FRSil dosages that I mixed over the classes' blood but there are also positive reactions that we're both looking for.
"Mir, take this class's blood samples over the exclusive with the same temperature since we need to see their other reaction after those selective times." I told Mirna as I handed her the positive reactions from each class's blood samples at the same storage fridge where she put the class A and B for another observation.
"Alright." She only managed to respond to me since she's also noting down on her own pad what she had observed before putting them to the exclusive storage fridge.
I discard the negative reactions to the disposal sanitization room before making another sample for another temperature observation since night creatures didn't have the same temperatures. At each different temperature that was being set over the exclusive storage fridge, there are some reactions that were already shown which we both immediately took it off from the fridge and discard after noting the failed reactions.
We've been doing that ever since we entered the laboratory and it was already past twelve and almost one in the afternoon. I stretched my stiff arms and legs before standing up from my seat and check the fridges while Mirna was typing her notes over the locker table.
"Hm, one class D with medium FRSil dosage didn't make for four hours. One class E with low FRSil dosage failed as well." I've noticed as I checked and removed the failed reaction from their selected storage fridge at has four hours' time set.
I made another note for the two failed reactions before discarding them as well. I was washing my hands at the disposal sanitization room when I smelled her scent again. It began to itch my nose but that wasn't all. I began vomiting which made me looked over the vanity mirror after washing my mouth and there I noticed how pale I am turning.
"Right. My blood wine." I recalled that I didn't get any chance to drink some since I stayed overnight with Mirna's unit.
I washed again my hands before I headed to the locker table area where her eyes were still glued over her desk recording her notes in the system while eating the lunch that she requested earlier in the ride. I was about to say something but instead, I leaned over her left shoulder which automatically made her jolted but when she realized that it was just me she let me inhaled her scent – her blood scent. It was driving me insane but I have to control it which made me gathered all my strength to move away from her neck that I just left a kiss. I could tell that it made her blushed since it was seen over her neck. I can't help but smile before I headed to my locker table and quickly took a sip over the blood wine that was added at the delivery. I can't help but to be thankful for having such servants and let myself enjoy the lunch – well, not until Mirna spoke.
"I am not sure how to explain what I am feeling around you. You might say it was the mate bond pull but I know that it was something beyond and there's no perfect word to compare it to. But let me just say what I know. Mirna suddenly caught my attention which made my heart began to beat really wild like any rapid beating of a sledgehammer.
"I love you, Lady Elrisha Cross. That's all I could describe what I am feeling for you. I know it was very too soon or because it's the mate bonds pull but those words were the only words I could put together." She added which seriously made my breath caught over my throat and everything felt like it stops. It was frozen and I couldn't move or say anything at all.
