Chapter 12 - House? Finally!

Manuel sees the last sparkle of light coming from the wolf slowly got up from where he was. But after he got up his body trembled and dizziness came like a wave-making Manuel falls to the ground and became unconscious. He was lying there for some time when a player dressed in full armor walked by.

Seeing these the Player came closer and inspected Manuel's body from a few feet. Seeing it was not moving he went down and tried to check his stats. But all he could see were question marks. He was very confused and scratched his head. "That's odd. This never happened before" All he could see was an NPC tag next to the question marks.

Opening his inventory. And getting a small healing potion for an NPC. Letting Manuel drink it while he was unconscious. Almost choking him to death. Every player has an inventory where they could store their items. They have limited spaces and can be upgraded with an item called space stones.

Space stones are resources that can only be obtained by killing a boss monster. While every player all have a map on their right arm that they can look upon at any time. Really disadvantageous to Manuel but hey, he didn't really think straight.

Slowly Manuels wound started healing that is visible to the naked eye. The player was 5'9 feet tall and had a muscular build. A bald head just sat beside the recovering injured Manuel. Hoping to get something in return. He smiled wickedly.

"Hehehe, I can't wait to see what this NPC will give me in return for saving him. Having all his stats question marks. He Should give me something good I hope" he said with a smile on his face reaching his ears. Chuckling from insanity, he didn't see Manuel open his eyes.

Manuel opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was a man just smiling there like a mad man. Slowly getting up from where he was laying down quietly. Looking to the side, then back to the man. He ran as fast as his legs could go completely disappearing on some trees.

The man, seeing these just look at the running Manuel with a surprised expression on his face. "Did I just get scammed?" He said pointing to himself. "Hey, give me back my potion," He said chasing after Manuel. "Holy crap a crazy person was chasing me," Manuel said while getting worried for his safety.

They were both running at full speed when Manuel saw some other players nearby. He got an idea and went to the other players. He shouted at them "Help me there's a crazy person after me. If anyone could stop him I'll reward him" Manuel said, triggering his passive skill.

Every player that was killing or hunting some monsters stop in their tracks and look at their notifications.

"Get him" With one word every player got out of combat and headed for the poor man. The man stopped in his tracks and looked to the side and one tear fell on his face smiling while waving in the distance. Every player was pummeling him to the ground hoping to get the last hit.

This was, after all, the first quests they have seen. A quest is very rare in the world of mystery. There were only 30 out of 100 who would get a quest, so they take every single quest like their last. There is also a good way to get Exp and an extra reward by completing it.

---------

"Give him to me"

"Don't block my way fool"

"The hell you said?"

---------

Everyone was fighting themselves for the quest. While they were doing all of these they didn't saw that Manuel was already running his a*s off to get away from them. Too bad he didn't stay because if he did, he would get so much exp.

Looking behind him and seeing no one was chasing him Manuel sigh in relief. "That was a close one. What the hell did I just see? I should really get out of here before they show up. But first, my stats" Manuel said, opening his stats.

[Would you like to open the challenge reward?]

Manuel didn't think twice and clicked yes. There was a flash of light right in front of him making him close his eyes. Slowly opening it he saw what he got and raised his eyebrows and smiled with surprise. "Finally getting a skill"

"Why is the description like that? and why does it have an Active Ability down below the description? Do only active abilities have it or not? I'm very confused here" Manuel said scratching his head. "Well none of my business," He said going back in the direction of his house.

===

Arriving in front of his house he was surprised. The house looks brand new. The small cracks on the floor and ceiling were gone. Tapping to check if it was shaky or not. It wasn't. "Very impressive," Manuel said smiling.

"You're finally back. I thought you will never be back" Said a joyful voice behind Manuel. Turning around he saw the player again with long deep silver hair and good looks so he taught. "Very nice. Well, your quest is completed" Said Manuel turning around to his house.

"Wa.." Before James was able to request his reward a glow of light appeared right in front of him. revealing a necklace. The length was unknown. But it can be adjusted. It has a small skull of a wolf in the middle and is being clawed by four claws on each side. It looks very cool. And the sound of notification sounded.

[Quest: Rebuild

Completed

Reward: Necklace of the Beta wolf has been send to your inventory ]

---

James has taken a look at the item. His once happy smile turned upside down. "Why didn't I think of this? I'm an idiot," James said looking toward the house and following the NPC. Going in and smelling fine oak wood really makes anyone fanatic about the smell.

"Why did you follow me?" Said Manuel looking at James with one eyebrow raised while crossing his arms. "Well If you have anything I could do?" James said. He really wishes to get another quest. Well, James really wants a quest about hunting to get some Exp. Manuel was thinking about what he could give. When he got a great idea or so he thought.

"Then go hunt some wolf for me. While bringing its whole body" Manuel said with a smile on his face. 'This will work I have forgotten one of my titles. Maybe I'll get some exp in return,' Manuel said in his mind.

James, looking at the quest he receives, smiled. Quickly saying yes and made it out of Manuel's house into the woods. He looks at his map to know where some wolves are just like he thought. Only some of the place is made. "Why did the developers just didn't give us the whole map? really we could only see what's 5 kilometers from us," James said with a sigh then left.
