Then, the next day came and Kiyoshi came knocking at Daku's door. Daku, in response to that, then opened the door, only to see Kiyoshi dressed in a blue, collared, buttoned polo shirt and a black necktie.
"Oh, Kiyoshi-kun," he said to him in mild surprise.
"Are you ready for your job interview?" Kiyoshi asked him positively in response.
"Oh, right, I forgot," replied Daku back in realizing that. "Give me a minute." He then went back inside to change his clothing to an appropriate one for job interviews. Kiyoshi, of course, was very patient, and just passed the time by surfing in his phone.
A few minutes had passed, and Daku, dressed in his white collared, buttoned, and long-sleeved polo shirt, blue necktie, and black business suit and pants with pockets, was now ready for the job interview.
Later as they walk down the street, Daku asked Kiyoshi where they will get a job interview.
"At a construction site just a few blocks away from your apartment home," answered Kiyoshi back with positive confidence. "They said they accept people with shady backgrounds."
"I see then," Daku responded back. "You seem to be confident on this thing, aren't you?"
"Of course, yes," Kiyoshi replied back positively, "I loved helping people."
"Oh, okay then," Daku responded back again.
But then, he doubted about his ability to answer questions and do the proper etiquette during the job interview, given by his lack of communication skills. He also doubted Kiyoshi's kindness and willingness to help him get a job. But those thoughts of self-doubt and doubts about his friend flew away when he and Kiyoshi arrived at the said construction site.
There they asked one of the working construction workers for a job interview for Daku. In response to that, that construction worker pointed his finger towards the office of the manager.
"Thank you so much," Daku responded while bowing a bit. He and Kiyoshi then went to the manager's office to have a job interview.
Not long after, they knocked at the door, causing the manager to respond, "Come in."
Kiyoshi then opened the door and he and Daku went in.
"Oh, how can I help you?" the manager said to them nicely.
"I'm her for a part-time job," Daku said to him.
"Ah, I see." Then to Kiyoshi, "How about you, young man?"
"No, I'm just here to help him," denied Kiyoshi.
"Ah, I see then," the manager responded nicely and positively. Then to Daku, "Sit down." Then to Kiyoshi, "You have to leave."
"Okay." Kiyoshi then left the office as Daku sat down on a chair.
And then, the job interview had began.
"First up, what is your name?
"My name is Daku Kamada."
"Okay, what is your age?"
"Oh, 20 years old."
"Did you graduate high school or middle school?"
"High school, sir."
"Mmm, I see then. Do you have any skills?'"
"Barely, sir."
"Okay then. I think you're a good fit."
This response stuns Daku a lot.
"What? Are you serious, sir?"
Chuckling a bit, the manager replied, "You see, Mr. Kamada, I just wanted people with shady backgrounds a second chance in life to, you know, get back up on their feet. That's why I established this company to let people like you rejoin society."
Listening to the manager attentively. Daku responded, "Oh, I see then." Kiyoshi was right all along, and his thoughts of doubt are eventually deleted, or, erased from his mind.
"Yes, you may start tomorrow," the manager told him. "I'll give you your equipment and hard hat needed for the job. You may leave now."
Overjoyed by this, Daku stand up and bowed deeply to him, saying, "Thank you so much, sir, for everything."
Smiling at him, the manager replied back, "You're welcome."
With that, Daku rise his head from bowing and left the office to tell Kiyoshi about this good news.
