Laurel POV
The work load at the office was so much, the moment I finished having dinner with my parents, all I just wanted to do was to go lay on my bed and go to sleep.
I decided to call Miriam and check up on her before going to bed.
"Hello?" She sounded sleepy..
"Miriam you were already sleeping?"
"Yes."
"Okay I will call you back tomorrow."
"I broke up with Oscar."
"You did what?!"
"I will give you the details tomorrow, we are no longer together. Goodnight Laurel."
"Goodnight Miriam!" I screamed her name in excitement, finally my friend has taken the bold step to freedom.
I was still jubilating when my mother came into my bedroom and switched on the light.
"Laurel honey, can I have a word with you?" She asked me.
"Yes mummy, sure." I sat up on my bed.
My mother came in and sat on a chair beside my bed.
"How was your day?" She asked me.
