Chapter 7 - Making plans

Finally I had successfully moved into my new apartment, this time around I was really all on my own. I felt a little homesick and worried about my family and how they would manage without me but I think I was holding up well.

Plopping down on my new bed I decided to order some food since I had no energy to cook anything. But then I received a call. I stared at the unknown number for quite sometime before I decided to pick it up. Sliding my fingers across the screen I slowly brought the phone up to my ears.

"Hello" I asked and waited for a reply.

"Miss Anna?" The voice sounded familiar.

"Yes. Who's this?"

"David, Rose's father" It was Mr.Warren, I looked at the number once again in disbelief. 'Where did he get my number from?' I wondered.

"Oh Mr.Warren it's you, how....how, how did you get my number?" in a tone that doesn't sound like I am doubting him or his character.

"Through your business card that principal ma'am had given to me, I am sorry I am calling you so out of the blue, please don't be creeped out"

"Oh no no, don't worry about it, I was just confused how you had my number since I didn't give it to you, like I don't give out my number that much to anyone." I mentally slapped myself for sounding this nervous when I heard him chuckle and if my ears were functioning right then I might have heard him whisper 'that's nice to know'

"Anyway, how can I help you?" I asked him biting my nails, a habit I must quit.

"I wanted to ask you if you would be coming over tomorrow?" Oh so he called for that but why am I so disappointed, what was I expecting?

"Yes, we need to continue with our session" i said and then there was a long pause and then I heard a faint whimper as if he had held back a sniffle.

"Yes, we need to get through that. I'll meet you at my place tomorrow then"

"Yes." There was another long pause. I contemplated if I should ask him if he has had dinner yet but then I went through with it and asked him.

"Did you have dinner?" "Did you have dinner?" We both asked each other at the same time. I stifled a laugh at our unison. On the other side I heard him chuckle

"No Miss Anna I haven't had dinner yet, have you?"

"No I haven't," wait a minute. He hasn't had dinner yet, then the kids, they must have also.. " What about the the kids have they had dinner?"

"Yes. They are at my parents house with them so they don't have to wait for me to cook them something burnt" he said chucking.

I laughed as I remembered the state of the kitchen the first time I was over at his place.

"Good for the children, you should also eat early, you'll have digestion problems if you eat late"

"So should you miss" he said and paused.

"Do you want to have dinner together Miss Anna? Only if you are comfortable with it, don't take it in the wrong way" he asked and I blushed at his struggle.

"Yes. Tell me where I should come?"

"I'll pick you up"

"No that won't be necessary I'll just come out"

"Then I'll meet you at Lakes down the road opposite Reed streethouse"

"Lakes, okay I'll be there"

My mind kept telling me this isn't right, that I couldn't meet up with my student's father, let alone have chatted with him on the phone. But however I found myself outside the restaurant all dressed up in the most formal-yet-not-so-formal attire I could, hesitating to walk in.

"Miss Anna" I heard someone call my name.

I turned around to towards the direction of the voice and found myself looking at the most beautiful sight my eyes had seen all morning.

Mr.Warren stood in a black dress shirt, looking like he stepped out a magazine cover. His hair was messy as if he had ran his hands through them multiple times. He seemed like he had a long day today.

"Mr.Warren!" I called out as he walked towards me.

"I am sorry I just arrived" he said panting. 'Don't tell me he ran around' I thought to myself as I watched him wipe his sweat.

"Oh no, don't be. I arrived just a minute or two ago" I said as I handed him my handkerchief. "Here, take this you are sweating"

"Thank you" he said and began wiping his face with it. "I had to run because I thought I was being followed" he said looking around.

"By?"

"A reporter, he's been behind me for a while now."

"Oh, is the reporter still around, you might get caught with me, people might get the wrong idea" I said as I mumbled the last part as if that wrong idea didn't feel that wrong to me, but I shook that thought away immediately.

"Don't worry, my guards will keep that reporter out, I've informed the restaurant as well. Let's go in now." He said as he led me in .
