Chapter 21 - The Receipt & The Sudden Visitor

Okay, so apparently rendering Lily inarticulate is such a nice sight.

Darren chuckled in his mind as he remembered how she ogled at Tim. How her jaw slightly dropped and how her fierce glare turned into obvious amazement. He felt the pride radiated off of his chest. Heavenly.

If only he had seen that coming, he would've grabbed his phone and recorded the whole thing for future receipts. However, he was as much surprised at what happened yesterday.

Like hello, Tim turned into a sappy git. A handsome sappy git and because of that idiot's speech, he was left imagining things.

Things that indeed should be classified as secret. It shouldn't be revealed to children, to kids.

For example, visualizing the day he gets to see that date Tim claims will be gorgeous, in that moment, they will look each other in the eye. The universe holds it breath, their heartbeat will synchronize and slowly, the sexual chemistry will grow and will be so palpable that it could be felt miles away. And then the next thing Darren knows, he's being swayed off of his feet.

Hmm. That was quite immaculate, wasn't it? He really should be planning the whole thing now. You never know maybe the date's just around the corner, right?

Darren was about to start detailing the plan when he was interrupted by a knock on his bedroom door.

Rude. He's kind of busy at the moment but trust an idiot to interrupt.

"Cutie?"

He's ready to throw a fit. He's thinking in here! He's busy! Busy! Busy!

"Go away!" he irritatingly exclaimed.

"I need to talk to you for a bit"

Talk? What for? Is he gonna tell him a speech again? Well, if that's the case he'll be happy to listen.

Getting excited, he marched towards his bedroom door and opened it with an interested mind because why wouldn't he get jolly when he's about to be praised as if he's the one who unlocked gravity and invented the use of common sense? He had all the rights to feel like this.

And besides, he's adulting, let him have his moment.

Another set of compliments here we come. Ayeee!

"Cutie I'm leaving"

Moron.

Wordlessly, he raised a fist and straight up punched him on his infuriatingly pretty face. Oh, to vandalize that comely canvas is heartwarming. Darren guessed the amount of pressure he poured into it is enough to fill some sense into him.

"Damn cutie! What the fuck was that for?" Tim held his cheek and stared, he didn't look mad but rather amused and a little bit confused.

This is the kind of man you shouldn't show kindness to. Tim is so pathetic and ungrateful.

"The 50% of your receipt" Darren jeered.

"50%?" Tim asked, really sounding confused now.

"Yes and this is the other 50" Darren lifted a hand and slapped him across the face.

"Ow! What the fuck?" Tim cursed and sounding puzzled. "What receipt are you fucking talking about? Are you on fucking drugs?" he asked as he caressed his slapped cheek gently, both of his cheeks getting red and it's lovely.

"You're leaving right? I'm giving you the receipt of your stay, Timothee Dumb William" Darren dramatically scoffed.

His confusion turned into an all-out laugh. Darren was so offended at his reaction that he raised a hand and went on to slap him again.

Only he wasn't able to because Tim easily caught his hand.

He chuckled with complete playfulness, "I fucking get it. You thought I was fucking leaving?"

Darren didn't answer and just looked away. He said he's leaving so that means he's leaving right?

Tim clasped his chin and gently pulled on it so they met each other's eyes, "Cutie, I'm not going to leave you"

He again didn't answer.

"I just have several errands to do and I'll be back"

-x-x-x-x-x-

There was a knock on the door. Well that's new.

Usually Tim just barges in the front door. Darren waited for a few more seconds when there was a knock again. It wasn't even locked, why can't Tim open it and just be done with it?

Lazily and gearing up himself to nag, he stood up from his seat and sauntered over the front door.

"Just enter you idiot - what are you doing here?"

Darren raised an eyebrow at Meyers. Yes, Walton Meyers is standing in front of him, with a case and in a business suit. Though, in Darren's opinion, he looked a little off balanced.

"Can I come in?" Meyers asked and Darren turned serious. Why must he?

"No. What do you need, Atty.?" he asked sarcastically.

Meyers sighed, "I'm here to talk about your case"

Darren clenched his jaw. How dare him say that?! How dare him mention that?!

"No. Just leave" Darren made a move to close the door right in his face but Meyers once again opened his godforsaken mouth.

"Darren, I can handle your-

"You do not call me by my name! And didn't I fire you already? Why are you still bothering me?!" he asked enraged at his persistence.

Does the world of law really have a man like this employed?! Man, this dumbass be acting like a neglected bratty kid.

Now, he's regretting punching and slapping Tim a while ago because he could've used that energy instead now that he's got a totally unexpected, displeasing, unwelcomed visidiot. Oops, his bad. Visitor rather.

"Lord Chu-

"Do not call me that either. Never. Ever. Again." Darren will certainly throw up with that kind of formality. He's not a lord.

He is Tim's queen. Yes, that's right.

Now, where did he stop with the imaginations and plans? Ah, yes. The details of the date -

"Mr. Chu, I can still take up your case"

Rude. So rude of him to cut of his midthought.

So, as he was saying before he was rudely interrupted, the details of the plan should be flawless, clean, smooth, and of course, gorgeous. The date should also be glorious and he should also hear the angels' voices as he walks the path with the red carpet with petals of roses leading to where Tim would be waiting on one knee, he would lift Darren's hand, give it a kiss and compliment him as if he's the only per-

"There will be another trial next week"

Well, damn.

The date's delayed because WHAT?!
